Back to the 70s: My Childhood Sweetheart Spoils Me Rotten-Chapter 804 - 806: Irritable Zhao Xuran
Gong Ruini had no idea that the message she thought she had conveyed led Gong Ruwen to forget, causing a huge commotion.
"Thank you." After getting off the car, Gong Ruini bid farewell to the driver, watched the car leave, and then walked home with a light step.
Of course, Gong Ruini was in a good mood. So good that she could say the anger she felt yesterday had been completely vented.
Gong Ruzhi squatted at the front gate with Wan Yihui for who knows how long, eagerly anticipating. Every time they heard footsteps passing by the gate, they’d run out for a look.
"Bro, when will Sis be back?" Wan Yihui rubbed his slightly deflated stomach.
"I don’t know either." How would Gong Ruzhi know where his headstrong sister went, "Sigh, blame it on Brother forgetting."
Gong Ruzhi wished he could knock open his big brother’s head; how could he mess up delivering a message? No wonder one might question how he handles major issues.
"Sigh." Wan Yihui sighed, highlighting the crux of the problem, "Ah, Sis!"
Upon raising his head, Wan Yihui saw Gong Ruini. Naturally, although surprised by her peculiar walking style, to him, the return of his sister meant he could clock out and go home.
Clocking out meant he could eat, and as for whether Brother Xu Ran would lose his temper at Sister Ni, Wan Yihui wasn’t sure.
But with Sis running out so disobediently, Brother Guangran was right; she should be taught a lesson, otherwise, she’d really think she’s all that.
Gong Ruini had no idea Wan Yihui was grumbling about her. She felt all kinds of embarrassment, and walking hesitantly like that, it was truly as awkward as one could get in front of her two younger brothers.
"Why are you at the gate?" she asked. Both crouching at the entrance, why, unless someone went out, and they’re waiting to sample the food first?
These two have done this kind of thing before, "You two little gluttons."
Wan Yihui was displeased, hmph, this was clearly Sister Ni’s fault, "Sis, you went out without telling us."
"Brother Xu Ran is really angry." Wan Yihui huffed, "We had wanted to speak well of you, now, hmph."
Sister Ni wasn’t polite speaking to them like that, even though they were kids, they weren’t without tempers.
Ah, Brother Xu Ran is really mad; what’s going on? Gong Ruini was baffled, "Didn’t I inform Brother?"
Her big brother was reliable, wouldn’t not say a word, unless Zhao Xuran was mad because she hadn’t told him in person?
If that’s the case, then he’s just being particular, thought Gong Ruini, pouting.
But either way, since Zhao Xuran was mad and it was her fault, Gong Ruini was definitely ready to admit her mistake, lest he give her a hard time.
"Got it, Sis is going to apologize now." Gong Ruini was truly unafraid since she was bringing back good news.
Once the good news comes out, Gong Ruini assured that Zhao Xuran wouldn’t stay mad at her.
"Straighten your attitude." Hearing that she’d admit her mistake, Wan Yihui nodded approvingly but then noticed she wasn’t sincere enough.
Like their father would say, a bit too nonchalant, "Behaving like this would have Brother Xu Ran talking."
"You should be like Brother Xiao Zhi; every time he gets scolded by Brother, he shows such good attitude." Unable to find another example, Wan Yihui sold out Gong Ruzhi.
Gong Ruzhi was not having it, why bring him into this, "Why not mention yourself?"
"As if you haven’t talked back to Uncle."
"You get scolded more by Brother." Wan Yihui knew his earlier comment was slightly unfair, but in front of Sister Ni, he would never admit it was wrong.
Hmph, this brat, they say brothers are good, brothers are sensible, but look at his own brother acting all silly and so much a tattletale, just like Brother Ban Xia and the others.
The brothers were accusing each other of being rude and disobedient, and Gong Ruini was getting a headache listening to it.
Gong Ruini didn’t want to get involved in the kids’ squabbles, it wouldn’t escalate too much anyway, but they insisted on dragging her into it.
Gong Ruini truly didn’t know how the elders managed to keep peace when these two rascals caused trouble at home while going to class.
"Who was wrong here? Why does such an obvious mistake still need Sis to point it out?" Gong Ruini gestured for them to reflect.
Hmph, the two kids knew they had their issues; they just wanted to see whom Gong Ruini would criticize more harshly, making the other one feel better.
Gong Ruini had watched them grow up, witnessed their fights many times. She might have mediated initially, but by now, she wasn’t at heart to do so. Let them bicker, they’d be friends again soon enough.
"It’s all you." Seeing Gong Ruini’s serious look, the two continued blaming each other for upsetting their sister.
Zhao Guangran listened to Gong Ruzhi and Wan Yihui blame each other, and he felt like rushing in and telling them to be quiet.
Today, it was tense; even their parents and Uncle Gong knew, but how were they responding? By claiming to be busy and retreating to their courtyard.
Even the twins used the excuse of having schoolwork to make a quick exit, which left Zhao Guangran to face his brother’s gloomy mood, wishing he could shrink away unseen.
"How’s the planning going?" Without looking up, Zhao Xuran knew his brother wasn’t concentrating on work.
Again, Zhao Guangran was on the verge of tears; no matter how many circles he’d drawn for Gong Ruini today, he was just hoping she would hurry back home.
As long as Ni Zi came back, Zhao Guangran vowed to use his speed of being chased by animals back in the Northeast to flee his brother’s courtyard. Otherwise, staying under the pressure was really unbearable.
"Almost." Looking at the countless revised plans sent back by his brother, Zhao Guangran felt like crying.
Zhao Guangran really didn’t know what was unsatisfactory with the numerous plans he made for his brother since there were no specific pointers or directions for improvement.
Sigh, if Ni Zi were here, perhaps he could promise some benefits for her to ask their brother, sacrificing a little didn’t seem so bad compared to having no direction at all.
Wait, what did he hear? Gong Ruzhi and Wan Yihui were actually blaming each other for offending Ni Zi!
This got Zhao Guangran excited; their argument surely meant Ni Zi was back.
Finally hearing that Ni Zi was back, if she hadn’t returned soon, Zhao Guangran wouldn’t know if he could survive this day.
