Awakening with two legendary Summons-Chapter 15: Summoners Summons? not summon...
Chapter 15 - Summoners Summons? not summon...
As Kairos left the classroom, his mind was fixated on something else entirely. One of the reasons he had hurried out wasn't just to escape the hustle and bustle of the academy classrooms—it was because of something he had heard.
A voice.
A voice that had spoken directly into his head the moment he canceled his summon out of sheer strain.
[Congratulations on pushing your limits. Your summon will undergo growth.]
It was unsettling, confusing, and, above all, terrifying.
Kairos had never read about any summoner experiencing such a phenomenon. No textbook mentioned hearing voices inside one's head. There wasn't a single case where a summoner could receive direct communication like this. And he couldn't just tell anyone—revealing such a thing could bring him more harm than good.
'For all I know, the military academy could seize me, lock me up, and turn me into a lab rat.'
That thought alone sent a shiver down his spine. No, he had to keep this to himself... at least until he figured out what it meant. But maybe—just maybe—he could talk to Carlos and Darnell. They were both more knowledgeable than he was when it came to summoning.

Determined, he quickened his pace. His heart pounded with the need for answers. And as he rounded the corner of the academy building, a familiar voice called out from the distance.
"Hey, Kairos! Come on, we decided to wait for you!"
It was Darnell, waving at him with a grin stretched across his face. He looked slightly worse for wear, unlike Carlos, who stood beside him, composed and as dashing as ever.
Kairos felt warmth spread through his chest. His friends had waited for him. He couldn't help but smile and wave back.
"I can't believe you both wasted your time waiting for me—nice." He chuckled as he reached them, exchanging a fist bump with Carlos.
"How was your class?" Carlos asked, his sharp gaze scanning Kairos for any sign of distress.
Kairos shrugged. "Not bad. But I figured I could have taken it as a sub-class instead of a primary one. Still, I learned a few things."
"That's cool! I got to beat up a bunch of guys in our class today. It was awesome!" Darnell boasted, his enthusiasm almost contagious.
Kairos laughed, giving him a once-over. If he didn't know Darnell's personality, he would have assumed the guy had been on the receiving end of a beating instead.
Carlos let out a quiet sigh, lowering his head slightly so Kairos wouldn't see his expression. He recalled what had really happened.
Many of the students had called Kairos a coward for not attending the Summons Battle class. They ridiculed him, doubting his summon's strength. Darnell, never one to let things slide, had stepped in and challenged those who had mocked Kairos. He fought three students—alone—and emerged victorious despite the odds.
It was an incredible feat.
'Kairos, I get why I look out for you... but that hothead? Why is he so invested in you?' Carlos pondered, slipping his hands into his pockets.
The three of them made their way to the cafeteria, where they shared a meal and recounted their experiences from class.
While Darnell excitedly narrated his fights, Carlos gave short yet meaningful insights. Kairos, however, had little to say about his battle with Rivet—it had been utterly one-sided.
But the discussion soon shifted to something more important: Summons Integration.
Now, the three boys sat cross-legged on the floor of their dorm room, with Carlos at the center, taking the role of instructor.
"Summons Integration is one of the fundamental techniques taught to newly awakened summoners by their factions or families. It allows you to channel your summon's abilities into your own body—enhancing your strength, speed, and even their unique innate skills."
Kairos nodded, absorbing every word.
"Since summons lack intelligence and will of their own, they rely entirely on their summoner. That means you have to understand their abilities inside out if you want to use them to their full potential. That's why, Kairos, you won't be able to match Rivet in battle right now—summon or no summon." Carlos shot him a knowing look.
Kairos clenched his fists. He knew Carlos was right. He might not be able to beat that arrogant, privileged bastard now, but if he trained hard enough, he would.
"The first step to mastering integration is understanding the type of summon you have." Carlos pointed at Darnell. "For example, Darnell's summon is Mythic-tier. He can integrate with it in such a way that he even manifests its physical traits."
Kairos took a long look at Darnell, his mind clicking into place.
'He wasn't even using his summon against me... he still has more up his sleeve.'
Carlos continued, "Since your summon is Legendary-tier, you won't be calling its full form into battle every time. Instead, you'll summon its energy—its essence—into yourself."
He paused, scanning Kairos' face for understanding. "Got it?"
Kairos nodded, his mind already running through the process.
"Aww man, since you two have this handled, I'm out! Gotta get my beauty sleep. Can't wait to fight more opponents tomorrow!" Darnell stretched his arms over his head, yawned loudly, and collapsed onto his bed. Within seconds, loud snores filled the room.
Kairos rolled his eyes. 'A loghead who sleeps like a log. Figures.'
He turned back to Carlos, who now had a more serious expression. His brows were furrowed, his lips pressed into a thin line.
"Oh, sorry. I'll try it now," Kairos said, closing his eyes and focusing.
He recalled the feeling of summoning his Shadow Wolf. He didn't visualize its form—just its power, its strengths, its essence.
Minutes passed. Then an hour.
Carlos eventually stood, stretching his limbs before heading to bed. "You can keep trying. This isn't something most people master in one sitting."
With that, he laid down, leaving Kairos to his own determination.
But Kairos wasn't about to stop.
He wasn't going to give up and retreat to leisure. Not until he felt something—anything.
He took a deep breath and tried again, putting himself in the mindset of the Shadow Wolf. He tried to become one with its instincts, its power, its existence.
Then, something clicked.
A familiar voice echoed in his head.
[You have successfully integrated with your Legendary Summons.]
Kairos' eyes snapped open, his breath catching in his throat.
It was the voice again.
But this time, there was something different. Something strange.
The voice had said "Summons."
Not "Summon."
