Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me-Chapter 668: An Unexpected Conversation
Time passed slowly, and the sky gradually grew dark. One by one, everyone stood up, said goodbye, and left the mansion.
The first people to leave after dinner were Lucas and Julian. They had come to make fun of Joe and Linor, and if possible Daniel too, but in the end they were the ones who got humiliated instead.
Not only were they isolated during the whole reunion and no one really talked to them, they also didn’t dare to say much themselves, afraid that Daniel might beat them up like in the past.
Now that they knew that boy had reached Rank A, they naturally didn’t dare to pick a fight with him again.
After they left, Linor and Thyra also departed. Linor had to participate in a dungeon raid tomorrow and couldn’t stay any longer.
As for Thyra, well... she was just tired and wanted to go home and rest.
Rivena, unlike expectations, stayed longer. She was deep in conversation with Daniel and didn’t seem to want to leave.
Before going, she made him promise to join one of her streams in the future. Daniel had an attractive face, and Rivena was sure that face alone would be enough to attract many female viewers.
In the end, only three people remained: Daniel, Joe, and Sara.
Seeing that Sara didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving, Daniel stood up first. Joe followed him and walked with him outside the mansion.
"It wasn’t a bad reunion. I guess we need things like this from time to time," Daniel said with a laugh while looking at the moon.
"Seeing the faces of those two idiots and how they embarrassed themselves really made my day," Joe laughed from the bottom of his heart.
It had been a long time since he had last seen those stupid expressions on their faces, and even longer since he had been able to give them such a lesson.
Daniel only smiled and didn’t continue the topic. He was about to say goodbye and leave when he heard soft footsteps behind him.
"Can we talk for a bit?" Sara asked quietly as she approached them.
Joe’s eyebrows rose in surprise, but at the same time a playful look appeared in his eyes. Before his friend could say anything, he said goodbye to them and went back inside the mansion.
In the end, only the two of them remained. Daniel sighed and nodded. It seemed he had no other choice.
"Let’s walk a bit."
Sara gave a beautiful smile, and the two of them started walking side by side under the moon.
"How is Alice doing?" She didn’t know how to start the conversation, so she picked a random topic.
"She’s doing well. She joined a guild and recently gained some fame too. She’s become pretty well-known."
"The fact that that little girl joined a guild and even became famous..." Sara laughed softly, a laugh that sounded almost like singing.
"Why did you join a mercenary group?" Daniel changed the topic and asked the question that had been on his mind.
"So you know."
"It wasn’t hard to figure out. But why? Aren’t you in a guild? Why a mercenary group?"
Sara didn’t answer immediately. She stayed silent, kept walking, and looked up at the sky.
"Do you remember my brother?" she suddenly asked, though it wasn’t the answer he was expecting.
"Your brother?" Daniel frowned, and a moment later a face appeared in his mind, a boy about seven years older than him.
Back then, he knew that boy a little. If he remembered correctly, his name was Lioren. Even though he wasn’t a genius, he was still a strong Awakened.
When Daniel was fifteen, he sometimes played basketball with Linor, Joe, and Lioren.
But he suddenly disappeared, and no news came from him. Daniel had completely forgotten about him.
"Do you remember those days? We had no conflicts and no troubles. We were so happy. My brother, my father, and my mother were all with me. We were a happy family. I had even found my first love," she said in a nostalgic and sad tone, giving Daniel a meaningful look.
"But then my brother suddenly disappeared. Then came the Awakening process where you and Joe failed and couldn’t awaken, James suddenly took control of the whole school, and bad things kept happening one after another..." She sighed.
Daniel said nothing and stayed silent. It seemed he wasn’t very good at recognizing some human emotions. He hadn’t expected this girl to have felt so miserable and sad all this time.
"You asked why I joined a mercenary group. It was to find my brother. I searched inside the country and couldn’t find any trace of him," Sara finally answered.
"So you went abroad."
"That’s right. To have more freedom outside the country, I joined an international mercenary group. There, by carrying out missions, I could gather more information."
International mercenary groups basically carry out different operations in exchange for money. These missions can be assigned by guilds or even governments.
The difficulty of the mission doesn’t matter, only the money does. As long as they get paid, mercenary groups will carry out any operation.
More importantly, mercenary groups also have certain immunities, though not all of them, only the top ones.
And the mercenary group Sara joined is one of the best in the entire world.
"Did you find any trace of him?" Daniel asked. Lioren was kind of his friend too. He didn’t mind helping a bit if needed.
In fact, he could even ask Augustus for help. It had been a long time since he last spoke with that old man.
But that old man has an item that can be used to find anyone’s geographical location. It only requires something that belongs to Lioren.
And he was sure that Sara, as that boy’s sister, definitely had something like that.
"I did... It turns out I didn’t even need to go abroad. All this time, my brother was here! At the country’s borders..."
