Awakening of the Scheming Wife-Chapter 124: Merlin found about DNA? Yes!
"Dawn, arrange everything as I said before. We should help Vernon finish this matter fast. Or it would affect Helena later," Merlin instructed his assistant.
"Ok boss."
"Also, did you find out what I asked you yesterday?" Merlin asked.
Dawn looked confused for a second. He recalled suddenly, "You mean your hair, boss?"
Merlin raised an eyebrow and looked at Dawn. Dawn lowered his head and gulped on his saliva. His boss hates the assistants who ask him too many questions or are too slow to understand his instructions.
"Yes, Boss. As you thought, they really sent your hair to the DNA center." Dawn answered quickly so that Merlin wouldn’t think about getting angry at him anymore.
Merlin raised an eyebrow. "With whose?"
When Vernon plucked his hair the night before, Merlin obviously sensed it. How could he not know the difference between a watch stuck in his hair and someone wanting to pluck his hair? He was a trained man who could differentiate all these little details.
But he decided not to speak at the moment. As soon as he came back, he ordered his assistant to check what they wanted to do with his hair.
Of course, the first thought he could have about someone wanting anyone’s hair would be for a DNA test.
But he did not understand why Vernon wanted to do a DNA test with him.
He has had a family since he was young. He had his mother and father. Why would anyone want to check his DNA?
"It’s with Miss Helena," Dawn answered softly.
"Mine and Helena’s DNA? Did you get the results?" Merlin did not understand what was going on at all. But he was sure he would understand if he found the results.
"Not yet, sir. We can get them by noon today," Dawn answered. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Noon? Fine. Get the results as soon as they come out and tell me. We should get the results before Vernon and Helena. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Boss."

In the blink of an eye, it was noon, and Dawn went to Merlin’s office to give the report he had just received.
"Boss, it is the DNA report you asked for," He handed a blue file with his hand trembling.
Looking at his trembling hand, Merlin did not take the file but looked at Dawn, "What are the results? Why are you so excited?"
"Boss, you should look at it yourself," Dawn did not dare to tell him what he saw on the paper inside.
Merlin felt interested, seeing his expression. He curled his lips upwards, "Don’t tell me. Is Helena my long-lost daughter?"
"..." Dawn was dumbfounded. Is that supposed to be a joke?
Even though Helena is younger than Merlin by many years, the age gap between them wasn’t so big that she could be his daughter, alright?
Merlin knew his question was ridiculous as well. He just wanted to tease Dawn a little.
Now that he saw Dawn’s expression, he was satisfied, and he took the file from his hand.
When he looked at that blue file, he suddenly lost his smile.
He felt his heart race.
From Dawn’s earlier reaction, it was clear that whatever was inside that file wasn’t nothing. It was definitely something to him.
What could that be?
He did not know if he should be excited to see the results or scared.
For the first time in his life, he felt his fingers tremble. Even when he got a bullet in his chest, he did not flinch, let alone tremble. But now he did.
He did not dare to open the file at all.
He just placed the file on the desk and looked at Dawn. He slowly opened his lips to ask, "Are I and Helena related?"
Dawn immediately nodded. He was happy for his boss. He did not know what had happened, but after Merlin’s parents lost their lives, Merlin was lost. He had no one he could call his relatives anymore.
Now that there was someone who was a blood relative to Merlin, and it was Helena, with whom Merlin had a good connection before, he felt very happy for his boss.
"Is she my half sister? Did my father have an affair?" For some reason, Merlin thought the worst of the situation and asked.
"..." Dawn did not think in that angle at all and was stunned. But before Merlin could be disappointed, Dawn immediately shook his head, "No, Boss. She is not your sister. I mean, she could be. But not directly."
"What are you talking about?" With Dawn’s confusing words, Merlin was only more confused.
"Umm..." Dawn scratched the back of his head. "I think you should look at it yourself, boss."
Merlin sighed and opened the file.
He did not look at the entire file, but his eyes went directly to the last sentence. Possibly first cousins.
"Cousins? Who?" Merlin frowned.
"Boss. You and Miss Helena are cousins. First cousins." Dawn said with excitement.
"How can I have cousins? Both my mother and father are the only children in their families. Could it be a second cousin or something?" Merlin asked.
"No, Boss. The DNA you both share is high enough to be first cousins but very low for real siblings. For second cousins, the genetic value would be too low than that." Dawn had already asked many questions at the DNA center first to get a good grip on this file.
Merlin listened carefully and understood the gist of it. He looked through the file once again and understood it was the truth.
But he couldn’t understand how that happened at all. He knows both his parents’ sides of the family. Where did Helena come from? Also, if they were related, why does she have to do the DNA test? Wouldn’t she already know how they were related?
Everything seemed to be a mess in Merlin’s mind.
"Look into this matter. What exactly is going on? Look into my family history and also Helena’s. Try to find the connection between the two," Merlin ordered.
"Okay, Boss." Dawn straightened his back and left the office to get to work immediately.

Vernon and Helena met to have lunch together. Most importantly, they met because they knew the DNA results would be out by then, and they wanted to look at it together.
"Did the reports come?" Helena asked Vernon as they ate.
"I sent Noah to collect them personally. As soon as he gets them, he will come to us. Just a few more minutes. let’s wait." Vernon softly said as he could feel that she was anxious about the matter.
"Let’s go to my office and wait," Helena said once they were done eating. There is no point in waiting for Noah at a restaurant.
It would be more private if they were in her office than in a public place for such a matter.
Vernon agreed immediately, and they both got in her car to leave. Vernon’s car was left at the restaurant, and Noah could get it later.
On the way, Helena received a call. As she answered, Vernon saw her brows furrowing.
"I understand. Keep an eye on the matter," Helena said to the phone before hanging up.
"What happened?" Vernon couldn’t help but ask when he saw her worrying expression.
Helena shook her head, "Nothing."
Even though she said that, she was shaken inside.
The call was from her subordinate. The same person who had sent her the information about all the party guests the day before.
This time, Helena asked her to look into the matter of Jemma’s sister’s kidnapping.
Even though Vernon told her not to worry, she wanted to gather some information beforehand in case they would need it.
But what she found was shocking.
She pursed her lips and looked at Vernon from the corner of her eye.
[I can’t believe it. That stupid Prince! I already did my best to disgust him. What is he thinking exactly?]
Vernon heard Helena’s thoughts and frowned.
(If you have something to say, I mean think, then do it completely. What is this half information I am getting from you? What should I even do with that?) He couldn’t help but lament to himself.
The only clue he got was that the call was related to the Seventh Prince. What exactly did the Prince do again to make her scold him?
[But why didn’t Brother Vincent or Sister Jemma say anything about this before? Why did they hide it from me? Does Vernon know about this as well? Or does he not?]
He heard her thoughts again. What does he know? What did his brother and sister-in-law hide from them?
Whatever it was, he was sure that he did not know anything. So he was even more curious about what was being hidden from them both.
[Why did the Prince even ask that? He did not ask for Sister Jemma, but he said ’either of the two daughters-in-law of the Jeffery family’? What does he mean by that? Why did he even think of getting me? And why didn’t they tell me about it?]
Vernon was stunned when he heard her thoughts.
What????
The Seventh Prince asked for either his sister-in-law or Helena?
What is going on?
From his previous life, he knew that the Seventh Prince had always wanted to acquire Jemma. But not once did he mention anything about Helena. So, he did not think anything in this direction.
So what changed this time?
Or is it that the Prince asked for Helena in his last life, too, but was hidden from him like this time?
