Chapter 1096 Night

As Atticus stepped out of his training room, he was met with the sight of another building being constructed just beside his. With one glance, he instantly knew what was going on.

'They're building a training room for Dad.'

Oberon and Garvin were working together, building the foundation, while Avalon stood a short distance away, grinning widely as he watched.

The moment he saw Atticus step out, Avalon's grin widened even more. In a flicker, he disappeared from his spot and appeared right in front of Atticus.

"You're showing off too much, Dad," Atticus said with a roll of his eyes.

It was as if any chance Avalon got, he would use that flickering technique. But Avalon didn't seem to care.

"My son!" he exclaimed, pulling Atticus into a tight hug.

Atticus tapped him on the back with a small smile. "It's great to see you too, Dad."

"Atticus, I love you so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Avalon repeated, squeezing him even tighter.

Oberon and Garvin had paused their work, now staring openly at the father and son. Atticus couldn't help but feel slightly embarrassed at Avalon's constant sweet words.

"Alright, alright, Dad. I love you too," he said quickly.

'Gay.' Ozeroth's voice echoed in his head, but he ignored the spirit completely.

Finally, Avalon let go, much to Atticus' relief, and gave him a warm smile. "I can't thank you enough for this, Son."

Atticus smiled back, but his tone shifted, now serious. "Do it by protecting the family."

Avalon's hands gripped his shoulders firmly. "You can leave it to me."

Atticus gave a small nod in return.

Then Avalon suddenly spoke, "Son… I hate to ask this of you, especially after everything you've done for me, but would it be possible to do what you did for me… to Lyanna and the others?"

Atticus hummed, eyes narrowing slightly as he pondered. After a pause, he shook his head. "I don't think that's possible."

"Why not?" Avalon asked, frowning.

"The reason I was able to do it for you is because you already have the talent. Your body can withstand the stress the mana and elemental energy puts on it during the transformation process. If their bodies can't… they might die."

Avalon's expression darkened. "Is there no other way?"

"None that I can think of right now," Atticus said. "But I'll keep it in mind. If I think of anything, I'll let you know."

"Thank you, Son." Avalon pulled him into another hug.

As they separated, Atticus's mouth opened slightly, then closed, visibly hesitating.

"What's wrong?" Avalon asked, his expression turning serious. Atticus was one of the strongest beings on their planet, anything that could make him hesitate like that had to be serious.

Atticus sighed. "There's something I need to tell you. All of you, actually. It's about our current situation. I'll say it tonight, in front of everyone."

Avalon's expression turned grim. He didn't know what it was, but it could only be terrible, world-ending, in fact.

He nodded solemnly.

After a few silent moments, Atticus gave a nod to Oberon and Garvin, who had heard everything, before turning and stepping back into his training room.

The entire Ravenstein estate was still buzzing with excitement at Avalon's advancement to the Paragon level.

The Ravensteins were being sent gifts from different parts of the human domain, as families of varying tiers scrambled to curry favor or form any kind of relationship with them.

Although it was already clear to many who the leading family of the human domain was, considering the fact that it was the family Atticus, humanity's current strongest, hailed from, Avalon's advancement had only served to remind them of that fact.

Anastasia was busy attending to the different delegates that had been sent, receiving the endless stream of gifts.

Lyanna was focused on finding out everything happening across the human domain. Ever since the discovery of the imposters in the Silent Nexus, she had taken it upon herself to locate, torture, and eliminate any imposters found, even those hiding amongst the citizens.

Sirius was conducting intense training regimens for the Raven Vanguard in preparation for the war ahead, his usual calm replaced with a strict, militant demeanor.

Nathan, on the other hand, was busy being happy and brooding at the same time. He cheerfully counted the money and gifts flowing in from the other families, then sank into a brooding mood the moment his thoughts shifted to the upcoming war and the funds already being poured into it.

The rest of the families were also preparing in their own ways, each one bracing for what was to come.

And just like that, the day passed, and night descended.

Atticus paused his training and left the training room. Walking through the Ravenstein estate, he made his way to the mansion and stopped at the door.

He simply stood there, silently, as though lost in thought. Then, he opened the door and entered, instantly arriving at the expansive living room.

There, Atticus's gaze landed on the multiple people inside, people who looked as though they had been waiting for something. Waiting for him.

"…Att."

Anastasia walked toward him and pulled him into a hug. Atticus received it with a smile.

After a moment, she leaned back and said, "Avalon said you had something to tell us… is everything okay?"

Atticus nodded, still smiling. "I'll let you all decide that after I finish explaining everything."

Anastasia's face only grew more worried as she stepped back, moving toward Avalon, who pulled her close protectively. The room fell into silence as everyone watched Atticus.

His gaze was calm, and his aura, as usual, silently overwhelmed the space. He looked at everyone present.

Oberon and Garvin, having already heard him tell Avalon about tonight's meeting, instantly understood that he had been referring to them too.

Besides Magnus, Avalon, Anastasia, and the Three Stars, the other paragons of humanity were also present.

A second passed.

Then, Atticus's lips parted.

"So this is how it is…"
