Attention Sir, I Have Your Heart Handcuffed!-Chapter 772: [Yan Jian Extra] 32. Wrong, I didn’t mean to treat you like this…
Ben Shaming made no comment, he just glared at Yan Yu coldly, stood up, and left.
Yan Yu hurried after him.
Pushing open the café door, the previous tranquility and gentle background music suddenly vanished, replaced by the roaring noise of wind and traffic from the real world.
Yan Yu stared at Ben Shaming’s solitary figure in black, anxiously questioning, "I know I’m right. Your departure now isn’t out of disdain; you’re actually trying to escape reality! Ben Shaming, I bet I’m right!"
Ben Shaming didn’t look back, as if he hadn’t heard her, and straightforwardly observed the traffic, before preparing to cross the road.
Yan Yu panicked. There was no crosswalk in front of her, and the upbringing she received as a member of the Tang Family had ingrained in her the inability to immediately follow suit. But she couldn’t let him leave like this—she needed the truth, and she had to persuade him!
She jumped anxiously, looking left and right for the nearest crosswalk.
But heaven was unhelpful; within the visible distance from the shop, surprisingly, there wasn’t a crosswalk in sight!
Meanwhile, Ben Shaming, with his agile movements and long legs, had already crossed the road in a few strides, walking on the opposite footpath, visibly drawing farther away.
Yan Yu was as desperate as a cat on a hot tin roof; she couldn’t care about decorum and could only shout loudly in the street, "Ben Shaming, stop, don’t go!"
Only then did Ben Shaming realize that she hadn’t followed. He stopped and glanced in her direction.
In that glance, he saw her frantically jumping up and down on the opposite side of the street. As she jumped, her hair, resembling a forest, bounced along, as did her oversized sweater and skirt... it was another scene of chaotic anxiety for him.
He found it odd why she acted that way.
When he saw her jumping and looking around, only then did he suddenly understand.
He couldn’t help but laugh.
He told himself this laugh was a mockery.
She wanted to run to find a crosswalk but was worried he would go too far, so she was stuck in place, afraid to leave, yet unable to rush across.
The identity of the Tang Family, at this moment, became a prison wall confining her.
But he didn’t intend to sympathize with her; he deliberately turned and walked in the opposite direction.
Being an assassin, he was accustomed to gathering as much information as possible about a new environment: so as they walked together, while listening to her chatter, he had quietly assessed his surroundings, including which direction had the nearest crosswalk.
By turning deliberately, he intended to move farther away from the crosswalk so that even if she found it, she would lose his trail.
Stupid woman, just as predictably stupid as he expected.
Inflexible, self-limiting, truly stupid to the core.
.
Across the street, though Yan Yu was bursting with anxiety, she didn’t play into Ben Shaming’s hands as he anticipated, wasn’t as foolish as he thought.
Though she couldn’t find a perfect solution momentarily, his actions, the hint of a smile, and the immediate turn in the opposite direction, all gave her answers.
She quickly realized that right in the direction behind him, there must be a crosswalk.
And that crosswalk must be the closest one!
Furthermore... even if she found that crosswalk, if she ran over now, judging by the confidence his actions revealed, she knew she would lose track of him by then.
His movements gave her a direction but still couldn’t provide her the best way.
In her disappointment, she decided to throw caution to the wind, pointing across the street and shouting, "Those two people, they’re father and son, right?"
.
This tactic really worked; the swiftly walking Ben Shaming abruptly stopped, turning his head towards her in almost disbelief.
Could this loud-mouthed woman across the bustling street truly be a descendant of the Tang Family?
Even such words, she dared to shout on such a busy road?!
Across the flowing traffic, Yan Yu saw the look of disbelief on his face, and of course, some mockery as well.
She swallowed the pang of her wounded pride, placing her hands on her hips, "I haven’t finished speaking; I’m going to say their names too. Even with that glare, I’ll shout them out loud!"
Before she finished speaking, Ben Shaming was no longer standing still. He was already running back towards her against the traffic!
The cars were speeding fast, but he maneuvered through the gaps, his speed seemingly unchallenged by the mechanized swiftness.
