Attention Sir, I Have Your Heart Handcuffed!-Chapter 722: [Yan Jian Extra] 19. What you don’t want, I happen to want
Almost resentfully, Yan Jian hurriedly turned around and buried her head back into her design work.
This resentment was hard to distinguish for a moment whether it was directed at him or herself.
However, this anger strangely transformed into a burning motivation, propelling her forward, each design drawing reigniting her previous passion. Designs that were once abandoned midway were now completed at the tip of her pen.
As a pastry chef, Yan Yu always believed in turning appetite into motivation; now she successfully turned grievance into motivation.
When there was only one unfinished design left on the table, she couldn’t help but glance at the clock on the wall.
Did she finish too quickly? Otherwise, how could he have the patience to keep waiting quietly by her side?
Or rather, how could he be willing to spend all the scheduled time in such a useless wait?
Isn’t he a plunderer? He would never waste any time seizing what he wants.
But the clock on the wall told her that despite her high efficiency, there were still so many incomplete designs on the table, so cumulatively, more than two hours had unknowingly passed.
She was somewhat startled.
She could forget time while buried in work herself; but he had willingly stood beside her quietly waiting for more than two hours?
Did something go wrong with him?
This sudden distraction made her lose the previous momentum, causing the last design to be delayed.
Her hesitation prompted him to bend down, staring into her eyes by her ear: "Why did you stop?"
Being so close, it seemed her soul couldn’t hide. She inhaled nervously, pretending to be relaxed: "Just tired."
"Really?"
He did not argue, but instead stretched out his hand to take the design from her, standing upright, with his blue eyes quietly examining it.
Yan Jian initially had a slight disdain in her heart: What was he looking at, could he even understand?
But immediately her heart skipped a beat, frantically rising, raising her hand trying to snatch it back.
God, how could she forget?!
.
Unfortunately, James being tall and long-armed, plus quick in reaction, Yan Jian even jumping to grab, couldn’t gain any advantage. He raised the design high above his head, gazing down at her, interest swelling in his blue eyes.
Seeing his expression made Yan Jian’s mind buzz.
He probably discovered it too.
Annoyed, she braced herself, disregarding dignity, circling around him, repeatedly attempting to jump from different directions and angles to grab it.
He suddenly laughed softly: "Little girl, can you play basketball?"
"Oh?" She was taken aback, biting her lip: "No, afraid to die?"
He snorted, but the smile on his face expanded: "Actually, you should play basketball, you’re a good attacker."
Yan Jian couldn’t help but roll her eyes: "Thanks, lucky you didn’t suggest I play American football."
The smile on his face annoyed her; she was not conversing for joking, nor for pleasing him but wanted to divide his attention, waiting for the chance to take the design back!
Unfortunately, she underestimated him; or rather he was too adept at being a master of control, so despite appearing relaxed, he fully understood how to allocate attention appropriately—Yan Jian’s efforts were futile, the design remained steadily raised, leaving Yan Jian hopping like a little white rabbit.
.
He grew more complacent, more immersed in this game.
Yan Jian knew if this continues, she’d exhaust her energy; besides, she wasn’t in the mood to play games with him!
Yan Jian took advantage of his unpreparedness, suddenly changing direction, not bouncing around him anymore, but abruptly stepping on a chair, then directly on the desk, completely changing the height comparison, then using the height advantage to pounce on James!
In a flash, she would succeed!
Like a tigress descending a mountain, she was desperate to win regardless.
Unfortunately, she miscalculated.
Although James paused for a moment, he immediately lowered the design from mid-air and then held it behind his back, dismantling her height advantage charge.
She realized mid-air but it was too late, her body clumsily fell in his direction.
Unexpectedly colliding directly into his arms.
He reached out to hold her, his face brimming with pride.
Taking advantage of her fright, he whispered by her ear: "What, have you learned to throw yourself into my arms willingly."
