Ascension of The Unholy Immortal-Chapter 343: Searing Sun Sword
Martial Lord’s expression changed slightly as he quickly retracted his finger and used his spiritual energy to purify the gray dust.
"Such a powerful corrosive effect," he muttered to himself. "Indeed, this Withering Death Sand is worthy of its reputation."
The Pavilion Head nodded in agreement. "This sand is extremely dangerous, but it is also extremely rare. It is said that it can only be found in the deepest parts of the Abyssal Rift, a place where even Void Return Realm experts fear to tread."

"So, this sand is not something that can be easily obtained," Martial Lord said thoughtfully.
"Indeed," the Pavilion Head replied. "This particular batch of Withering Death Sand was obtained by our pavilion after a perilous expedition into the Abyssal Rift. It is the only batch that we have in our possession, and it is likely to be the only batch that will ever be auctioned."
"In that case, why not sell it to me," Martial Lord declared resolutely. "I have a use for such a rare and powerful material."
The Pavilion Head face darkened. "Brother Wu you said you will play by the auction rules."
Martial Lord snorted. " Who said i will not, why not just auction it now? "
The Pavilion Head let out a helpless sigh and turned to Xia and nodded. "Xia, you may begin the bidding for the Withering Death Sand."
Xia nodded and stepped forward. "Estimated guests, the bidding for the Withering Death Sand will now commence in advance. The starting bid is one hundred million crystals. Please place your bids."
"One hundred and ten million crystals."
"One hundred and twenty million crystals."
"One hundred and thirty million crystals."
The bidding quickly escalated, with each bid surpassing the previous one by a significant margin. It was clear that many of the experts in the hall were eager to get their hands on this rare and powerful material.
"Five hundred million crystals."
A voice rang out from the third floor, instantly silencing the hall. All eyes turned to the source of the voice, but unfortunately their sense and sight were blocked.
"Mo brat," Martial Lord still on the stage said with a frown, "I was hoping to acquire this sand for myself, why are you rising the bid this much."
The champer in the third floor turned translucent, inside was none other than Mo Di who have an awkward expression on his face"Senior Wu, you are too kind. I simply believe that this sand would be of greater use to me than to you."
Martial Lord let out a humorless laugh. "Greater use? Are you planning on using it to wither away your enemies or something?"
Mo Di’s lips twitched. "Senior Wu, there’s no need for such sarcasm. I assure you, I have my reasons for wanting the sand."
"Hmph, as if I would believe such nonsense. I’m sure you have some ulterior motive," Martial Lord snorted.
Mo Di chuckled lightly. "Perhaps. But I assure you, my intentions are not harmful to you ."
"Well, I hope your reasons are good enough to justify outbidding me," Martial Lord retorted. "Because let me tell you, this sand is not something I’m willing to let go of easily."
The Pavilion Head watched the exchange with a furrowed brow. He knew that both men were powerful and influential figures, and he did not want to get caught in the middle of their conflict.
"Brother Wu, Brother Mo, please be respectful of each other," he interjected. "This is an auction, not a battlefield."
Meanwhile, Xia watched the exchange with growing excitement. The bidding for the Withering Death Sand was now in the stratosphere, and it showed no signs of slowing down.
"Six hundred million crystals," Martial Lord bid again, gritting his teeth.
"Six hundred and fifty million crystals," Mo Di countered, his voice unwavering.
The hall was silent as the two titans of the auction traded barbs and bids.
Finally, after a long and tense moment, Mo Di spoke again.
"One billion crystals."
The words hung in the air like a thunderclap, stunning the entire hall into silence.
Martial Lord’s eyes widened in surprise. "One billion crystals? You really need this thing?"
Mo Di smiled bitterly without responding; even for him, one billion was a significant amount.
Martial Lord stared at Mo Di for a long moment, Finally, he let out a sigh of resignation.
"Fine," he said. "You win. I concede."
Mo Di nodded slightly. "Thank you for your understanding, Senior Wu."
With that, the bidding for the Withering Death Sand came to an end. Xia, her eyes sparkling with excitement, brought her hand down.
"Sold! The Withering Death Sand has been sold to the esteemed guest on the third floor for the astounding price of one billion crystals!"
"Strange," Yue Xin murmured, narrowing her eyes slightly. "In my timeline, if I recall correctly, the Martial Lord acquired it for just five hundred million."
A flicker of concern crossed her face. "Could the war in the Devil Realm have ended differently this time?"
Regrettably, she had no means of immediate confirmation. This auction was held not in any ordinary location, but within a secret realm at the distant edge of the Yang region. Even if some event transpired, it would escape her immediate perception.
She wondered why the pavilion had chosen this obscure location for the auction; it puzzled her. In her previous life, she had never attended the auction in person; her understanding was shaped solely by fragmented accounts and whispered rumors she’d gathered over the years.
"Someone besides me must be meddling with the present’s trajectory, causing these deviations from the established course," Yue Xin mused, her eyes turning cold. "I will need to adjust my plans accordingly"
In her previous life, the Divine Spirit Palace had orchestrated a grand war to conquer the devil realm. That conflict ended in a catastrophic defeat for Mo Ji, who was forced to relinquish more than half of the Devil Realm.
Speculation surrounding the war’s outcome swirled like a tempest, but the most credible account suggested that when the Divine Spirit Palace faced obliteration, a nine-tailed immortal fox manifested in the heavens above the devil realm. With a single, devastating move, it dismantled the renowned Heavenly Devil Ruling the Heaven Formation, compelling Mo Ji to kneel in defeat.
"Now let’s move to the next item," Xia decleaed with a hint of excitement in her eyes. "The starting bid for the Searing Sun Sword is one hundred million crystals. Do I hear a bid?"
A moment of silence ensued as the audience contemplated the value of this exceptional weapon. Then, a bid came from the second floor.
"One hundred ten million."
Another voice quickly followed.
"One hundred twenty million."
The bids rose steadily, with various experts from the different tiers.
In the midst of the bidding war, a calm voice suddenly interjected from the third floor.
"Two hundred million."
The hall fell silent as every gaze turned towards the speaker, an expert from the exclusive third floor. The auctioneer paused momentarily before the bidding resumed, though at a more deliberate pace.
"Three hundred million," a voice from the third floor echoed through the hall, this time belonging to the enigmatic Long Ning, whose presence was known to all.
"Four hundred million," countered a figure from the same floor, the renowned Star Wondering Daoist.
"Hmph, old man, didn’t you recently criticize this sword? Why are you now bidding for it?" Long Ning’s disdainful voice carried through the hall.
Star Wondering Daoist’s face darkened momentarily but he held his temper in check. "Youngster, if you cannot afford it, then be silent."
"Cannot afford it?" Long Ning erupted into laughter. "I shall prove my financial capabilities right now." He directed his gaze towards the bidding screen and uttered, "Seven hundred million."
Chaos erupted within the hall as the price skyrocketed at an unprecedented rate.
"Seven hundred and fifty million," a melodious voice unexpectedly emanated from room fifteen on the second floor.
"Who dares challenge these third-floor experts?" an astounded first-floor expert inquired.
"Perhaps someone with an equally formidable background," another speculated.
"Indeed, it would require exceptional boldness to do so," a third concurred.
Star Wondering Daoist’s surprise was evident as he directed his attention to room number fifteen. "This lass also desires the sword?" His countenance darkened. "Regardless of her identity, she cannot outbid her senior!"
Just as Star Wondering Daoist contemplated, yet another bid emerged from the second floor.
"Eight hundred million!"
Mi Ling, in room fifteen, fixed her gaze on room ten, her suspicions confirmed. "Just as I thought, they’re targeting me. Few would be bold enough, and it definitely isn’t Kai; he lacks the ability to sense the occupants on the second floor."
"Is this person aware of my bidding plans, or are they just playing around?"
A playful grin danced on her lips as she replied, "Very well, I’ll indulge your whim." Her eyes darted to the bidding screen, and with a confident flick of her wrist, she raised the stakes again: "Nine hundred million."
