Ascension of The Unholy Immortal-Chapter 328: Conflicts at the Banquet
The silver-haired figure addressed as ’kid’ remained silent, his expression unreadable.
Martial Lord Wu narrowed his eyes, " Twenty thousand years have passed, yet you still lack the courage ?"
"There is no rush," the silver-haired figure replied, his voice calm and indifferent. "My time will come."
"Hmph, always with these flowery words," Martial Lord Wu scoffed. "If you keep delaying, you’ll end up like that Mo fellow, stuck in the Void Return Realm for all eternity."
The silver-haired figure merely glanced at the Devil Emperor Mo Di, who responded with a wry smile, offering tacit agreement to Martial Lord Wu’s assessment.
"The law of void is vast and unfathomable, but fret not, senior. I am on the cusp of comprehension," the silver-haired figure replied with a serene smile.
Martial Lord Wu looked at the silver-haired figure with a playful glint in his eyes. " We will see."
Turning to the Pavilion Head, he asked, "I heard rumors that your auction will have some eighth-grade spiritual ascension pills. Is that true?"
A collective gasp swept through the hall as everyone’s attention sharpened at the mention of the eighth-grade spiritual ascension pills.
The Pavilion Head nodded reluctantly, "Indeed, Martial Lord. We have managed to procure 3 eighth-grade spiritual ascension pills."
A faint smile played on Martial Lord Wu’s lips as he stroked his beard. "Excellent. I have a deep interest in this item. Make sure you include me in the bidding later."
A look of distress washed over the Pavilion Head’s face. With Martial Lord Wu expressing his interest, the chances of any others successfully securing the eighth-grade spiritual ascension pills seemed bleak.
"I hope senior will at least give us the chance to compete for one," Star Wondering Daoist said calmly.
Martial Lord couldn’t help but chuckle upon hearing this, . "You don’t need to worry about such things, this seat has always been a fair and a person with morals. You all will not be deprived of an opportunity to bid."
Upon hearing these words, a sense of relief washed over the experts present.
"Since this takes the form of an auction, I shall adhere to its rules and compete solely with currency."
This last declaration left a bitter taste in many mouths. While the assembled experts hailed from influential factions with substantial financial resources, they doubted their ability to rival a realm lord in terms of wealth.
"You wouldn’t be interested in these pills, right?" Mi Ling inquired, her gaze curiously fixed upon the black-robed man seated beside her.
The black-robed man remained silent for a moment before letting out a heavy sigh, his voice laden with disappointment. "Although I have recovered most of my power, it’s still not enough."
"Not enough?" Mi Ling’s eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of concern lacing her tone.
"I have been injured for a long time, and my cultivation hasn’t made any improvement since then," the black-robed man said, a flicker of longing in his gaze. "These pills might bring me back some hope."
"Then why don’t you try to snatch it?" Mi Ling suggested with a cold smile.
"Hmph, do you think I am afraid of that old man?" The black-robed man snorted, a hint of scorn in his voice.
Mi Ling shook her head, her eyes glimmering with an inscrutable light. "It’s not the time to reveal yourself yet. These pills are precious, but a greater opportunity awaits."
"We will try as much as we can to hold the element of surprise," the black-robed man nodded, a hint of anticipation in his voice.
Mi Ling chuckled softly, "It’s always safe to play from the shadows."
"So you are Mi Ling?"
A cold, piercing voice suddenly reached Mi Ling’s ears, sending a shiver down her spine.
Raising her head, she turned to face the source of the voice - Long Ning!
The aura of a Void Return realm expert enveloped her like an oppressive force.
Despite the intense pressure bearing down upon her, Mi Ling’s expression remained calm and composed.
"That’s indeed me," she eventually replied when Long Ning was only a few steps away from her, her voice unwavering.
"So confident." Long Ning’s lips curved upward into a sneer, a hint of mockery evident in his voice.
"Confident?" Mi Ling replied indifferently, her gaze meeting Long Ning’s directly. "I guess so."
"Hmph, You like to play with other people’s lives, right?" Long Ning took another step forward, his aura surging forward with palpable intensity.
Undeterred, Mi Ling stood her ground, but the strain was evident in her trembling hands.
"Young Friend, Is it amusing to bully the younger generation ?" A calm voice suddenly sounded, breaking the tense atmosphere.
An oppressive aura, equally formidable as Long Ning’s, spread forward, colliding against his overwhelming force.
Although the other aura also belonged to another Void Return Realm expert, strangely Long Ning was forced to take two steps back, his expression flickering with surprise and disbelief.
"Mo Di?" Long Ning’s eyes narrowed slightly upon seeing the person who had just interfered.
"Compare to you, Mo Di, I could be considered a young boy. Isn’t what you are doing is also bullying?" Long Ning sneered.
"You devil cultivators are sure arrogant, you shouldn’t interfere in this matter!"

Before the Devil Emperor could reply, another aura, equally powerful, suddenly permeated the air, reinforcing Long Ning’s stance.
Dong Tian Wang!
Many experts looked at each other in surprise, wondering why Dong Tian Wang was lending his support to Long Ning. Could he have grudges against the Devil Emperor, or was there something deeper at play?

"Interesting," Liang mused, his gaze fixed upon the unfolding conflict with a contemplative glint in his eyes.
"It seems like my assumptions are true," a peculiar expression crossing his face. "Is the Dong Clan truly intending to align themselves with the Legion?"
Liang had previously harbored suspicions that the Dong Clan was privy to the events surrounding the Heavenly Will Palace, but concrete evidence had eluded him.
However, the recent alliance between the Dong Clan and the Mortal Ascension Legion seemed to provide a plausible explanation for many unanswered questions.
"Long Ning’s actions confirm my belief that the Legion has uncovered the truth behind the Devil Realm incident," Liang said, his eyes flickering thoughtfully. After a moment of silence, he couldn’t help but chuckle. "While this may pose some challenges for me, it will undoubtedly be detrimental to Mi Ling’s plans."
Previously, Mi Ling’s existence and authority within the Alliance had remained largely concealed, allowing her to operate in the shadows.
But with her newfound prominence as a representative of the Alliance, she would inevitably be drawn into the open, significantly hindering her ability to execute her plans.
Liang’s gaze then shifted to the mysterious black-robed figure standing behind Mi Ling.
"This person...there’s something familiar about them," Liang muttered to himself. Closing his eyes, he activated the Thousand Derivation Rune.
Moments later, he opened his eyes, a hint of confusion clouding his expression.
"It can’t be, right?"
