Armed Train in the Apocalypse-Chapter 294 - 215: Train Produce Shop
The meerkat stood in front of Lu Xiao and Miao Qi's dormitory door, as if there was a trapped beast locked in her brows, struggling to break free.
Deep down, she had a lot of respect for Miao Qi. Although the other party didn't become an officer after the reorganization, she was one of the few Senior Sergeants, and her marksmanship was extremely accurate, treating all soldiers equally.
She even secretly felt that if the other party wasn't female, she would at least be an officer.
But today, Miao Qi's words turned her world upside down, leaving her feeling very uncomfortable.
She never thought Miao Qi would think like this.
"Click—"
A mechanical sound echoed as Miao Qi pushed the door open and came out.
The meerkat was just about to speak, but when she looked up, she was stunned in place.
"Can't afford clothes? I'll give you a few pieces next time," Miao Qi said, lifting the oversized training shirt on the meerkat, "so you don't always wear this boring stuff."
The meerkat took a small step back, hesitating, "Sister Qi, isn't what you're wearing a bit too bold?"
Miao Qi was wearing a pair of overalls with a red lining, but the two straps weren't fastened properly, with one dangling down, revealing a black tube top.
The sides of the overalls were also done up. Starting from the waist, they became incredibly form-fitting, with a few crisscross lines at the hips, slightly squeezing the plump thigh flesh.
It wasn't until the knees that it returned to normal.
The red lining made her exposed skin appear even more white.
The entire outfit didn't actually reveal much, yet it looked extremely impactful.
Miao Qi tidied her hair and chuckled lightly, "Can't handle this?"
The meerkat hesitated for a long time, "…This kind of clothing isn't practical, is it?"
Miao Qi spread her arms and looked around, saying blandly, "Practical, why not? Makes it easier for me to attract men."
"Lieutenant Lu Xiao…"
The meerkat's pupils slightly widened.
"I change my men frequently, always need to scout ahead."
Miao Qi hadn't finished speaking when she was pulled into a strong embrace.
Lu Xiao gave her plump thigh a hard squeeze, speaking harshly, "Still thinking of replacing me? Wait till I come back to deal with you."
"Lieutenant Lu,"
The meerkat showed an awkward yet polite smile at the corners of her mouth.
He nodded in response.
Miao Qi showed no embarrassment at being caught, and with a coquettish laugh asked, "Everyone's dismissed, what are you busy with?"
Lu Xiao replied casually, "Nothing urgent, Boss has come up with a new rifle, and wants us to test it out."
"Remember to come back for dinner tonight."
"You cooking? Alright, I'll come back when I'm done."
With that, Lu Xiao threw his gear into the room and headed out directly.
The way they interacted left the meerkat dumbstruck.
Miao Qi naturally noticed her confusion but wasn't willing to explain those complicated matters to a young girl. Without personal experience, the meerkat wouldn't understand her.
Even though they were about the same age, in front of her, the meerkat was just a young girl.
"Don't just stand there. It's the first open market today. If we're late, we might miss out."
Miao Qi said enthusiastically.
It had been a long time since she felt the joy of shopping.
Miao Qi's current dormitory was in Carriage 3 Subsection, heading back through Tier Three Carriage, they arrived at Carriage 7 Subsection Farm.
Because mutant plants have the effect of filtering air, the farm hasn't expanded backward since the train upgrade, instead, it expanded sideways, adding two carriages, separating the farm but ensuring that both trains have some greenery.
The temporary fruit and vegetable store was set up in Carriage 8 Subsection.
As soon as they entered Carriage 7 Subsection, they could see a Wangjiang Peak Pear Tree horizontally across the central corridor, its root soil circled by transparent glass, about thirty centimeters off the ground, with the whole carriage floor elevated by fifty centimeters, eighty centimeters in total, all being soil layers.
The entire tree was six meters high, almost touching the train ceiling, with lush green leaves and three small green pears remaining. As the air conditioning blew cold air, a faint fruit fragrance lingered in the carriage, with the train's slight sway, the leaves rustled.
There were two small blue chubby birds on the tree, tilting their heads and looking at the two of them.
"I wonder what method Mr. Huang used, these birds don't fly out."
Miao Qi clicked her tongue in amazement.
The meerkat looked up, and the two small chubby birds hurried back to their nest in panic, making her snort coldly in frustration.
Causing Miao Qi to laugh softly.
The path split into two here, one winding up to the second floor, only about 50 centimeters wide.
Mainly to facilitate vertical farm management.
The two walked around the pear tree toward the inside, with many plants planted along the walls on both sides of the carriage, the most common being Sweet and Spicy Green Onions, standing on both sides like little lanterns.
At this time they weren't glowing yet, although it was pitch black outside under the deep water, it wasn't actually dark.
This plant, in a certain sense, helps people in the carriage judge the time.
There were also delicate mushrooms, metallic pumpkins, thick flowers…
But these were all mutant plants, some of which were quite dangerous. Coupled with the various warnings posted by Mr. Huang on the walls, the two only glanced at them quickly.
At the end of Carriage 8 Subsection, a small "wooden house" appeared, with two small Iron-Eating Trees on either side, their branches twisting together to form an arch, somewhat resembling a rudimentary archway.
From their direction, they could see Huang Hai in a gray-green short sleeve, with his assistant Xiaowang, moving fruits and vegetables there.
All items were sorted into metal boxes, some even in transparent glass boxes.
It looked less like a vegetable market and more like an experiment station.
There were more than a dozen people waiting in front, Hussars maintaining order with a few crew members from the logistics team.
