Apocalyse: Marked by Chaos-Chapter 35 - The Goddess Awakens
Chapter 35 - 35 The Goddess Awakens
A chilling scream escaped from Olivia's lips. She felt as if her own senses were drifting away, her body coursing with new power, new strength. But it was not under her control, she was being pushed back inside her own body.
She had experienced this feeling before, and it was when she had lost control over her power. She hated taking the back seat in her own body. Her shaking legs buckled, she fell on her knees.
Her fingers dug into the golden ground beneath her, gripping onto anything solid as if it could keep her grounded. Her body trembled violently, heat surging through her veins like molten lava, yet she refused to give in.
"No! This is my body!" Olivia gritted her teeth, her entire being screamed in defiance. She could feel Eritrea pushing harder, a relentless force clawing at her soul. The golden fire coiled around her like a serpent, pressing into her chest, suffocating her thoughts, suffocating her will.
"Let me in!" Eritrea's voice was sharp, commanding.
"I said NO!" Olivia roared, pain lacing her words. She wasn't just going to surrender—not like this, not when everything had already been taken from her. She had lost her strength, her freedom, her power... and now, even her body? No. She would fight.
Her vision blurred, her consciousness flickering between the golden expanse of her mind and the wasteland where her real body was dying. She saw Little White, burned and unconscious, his once-powerful frame weakened, fading. He needed her.
And yet, her own body betrayed her. The fire crawled up her skin, burning not just her flesh but her very being.
"You are too weak to resist," Eritrea's voice was calm, patient, like a hunter waiting for its prey to collapse. "You can either die as nothing... or live as something greater."
Olivia gasped, her hands clenched, her fingers digging into her palm. The weight of those words crushed her chest. Something greater? Or nothing at all?
Her lips parted to protest, but the fire surged, wrapping around her throat like unseen chains. She could feel herself slipping, falling deeper into Eritrea's hold, into the very thing she had feared most.
Her last thought before the world went black was not of herself, but of Little White.
"I... I'm sorry."
Then, everything shattered. A deafening explosion erupted in her mind, and the next moment, she was gone.
Everything turned dark, by the time she opened her eyes, she found herself trapped in a transparent round glass cell. She could see everything that was happening outside her body. But the actions were not hers.
She pounded on the glass, trying to break her way out. But it was unbreakable. She pounced, punched, yet it didn't budge. The smell of iron invaded her nostrils, her hand was dripping with blood, the glass was smeared with red blood.
"Let me out." She yelled out desperately, her breath coming out in huffs. Her veins tightened when she saw Eritrea turn toward her, smirking. She wanted to punch that smirk off her face so bad.
Then, fire surged into her chest, into her very soul. She felt pain and It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. It burned, not her flesh, but her very essence. Her memories, her fears, her doubts, all of them were devoured by the inferno. And then, something deeper stirred. A force, ancient and untamed, coiled within her, roaring in recognition.
She screamed as golden veins of energy spread across her body, her eyes flashing a luminous gold. The power inside her... it was overwhelming, infinite and divine.
A deafening explosion shook the wasteland.
The sea of fire that had threatened to consume them reversed, sucked into the air as if time itself had unraveled.
And at the center of it all, Olivia. But she was no longer just Olivia, this was Eritrea in control.
Her eyes shone with confidence. It felt nice to be out again, she took a deep breath, although the air was dried but it gave a sense of being alive again.
Her body hovered above the ground, golden flames spiraling around her like a celestial inferno. Her once emerald eyes now burned with molten gold, her hair, once dark, now streaked with white fire. Energy radiated from her skin, pulsing with the force of a sun.
She lifted her hand. The flames that had sought to devour them twisted in response, bending to her will.
The earth rumbled. The wasteland itself trembled at her power. And then... With a single motion, she unleashed all of it.
A surge of golden fire erupted from her body, a wave of raw, unrestrained power tore through the land.
The deadly flames infecting Little White disintegrated in an instant, his body glowing as the corruption was burned away. Her golden energy gently caressed his skin, healing his wounds.
The sky itself cracked under the force, a blinding explosion of light swallowing everything in its path.
The Bloodfang monsters at the border shrieked in terror, their once-hungry eyes now filled with unholy fear. For they did not see a dying girl. They saw a goddess reborn. Their leader's soulless wise eyes gazed hungrily at her but a tinge of fear hiding beneath it.

"This is what you call power and control." A smirk curled on her lips. ' As long as you cannot break out of the cell, I will live this life for you.' She thought inwardly.
She needed to fulfill all her missions and revive him back. She turned her eyes to Little White, and for a moment, the world seemed to stop.
She walked toward him gracefully, eyes welling up, lips stretching into a rare, genuine smile.
" She had found you." She whispered, her hand tracing the shape line of his jaws. His body was covered with black soot. With a flick of her hand, clothes appeared on him.
" Wait for me." She said, tears streaming down her face. She looked at him one last time before she stood up. She formed a barrier round him.
After making sure that he was safe, she descended back into the ground. She enclosed herself in a barrier of golden energy.
The fire from underneath the ground parted as she made her way through. Her silver white hair dancing around her. Her movement was graceful and powerful.
Finally she made it to the center of the flame. Beneath it a river of lava rose and fell in an unnatural manner. She stood on a protruding rock, her gaze locked on the glimmering speck of a pure golden flame.
"The sacred flame." A smile formed on her lips. She descended further, reaching for the flame.
SPLASH.
A creature suddenly arose from the lava, its body was rocky but with veins of hot firing soot cracking round its body.
It was a dragon. Its molten, slit-like eyes stared at her, its fangs bared.
