Apocalyse: Marked by Chaos-Chapter 31 - The Chaos Prophecy
Chapter 31 - 31 The Chaos Prophecy
Little White took to his heels, dashing into the wasteland. Their hearts pounded in their chests. They had one percent chance of getting out alive, being faced with two impossible choices they had to choose the better choice. They knew they had no chance with the approaching monster.
They entered the wasteland, this time there was no turning back.
As soon as Little white's feet touched the ground, it rumbled, sending chilling waves through the air. The Bloodfangs suddenly stopped at the border, they paced around the edge, their snarls reverberated through the air.
Olivia felt something was amiss, the air suddenly grew thick. The air in the wasteland was hotter than the rocky terrains, it felt as if they had stepped into another dimension the moment they set foot inside.
" Little White." Olivia called out, her voice laced with worry.
" What is it?" he asked, his feet blurring through the vastland, not faltering.
" Turn around." she ordered.
" Why?"
" The monsters are not chasing us here, it only means one thing, Little White... something more powerful rules this territory, turn around now!" Olivia yelled.
They had thought that entering the wasteland was a better option than facing the monsters that were chasing them. But Olivia just realised that it was the worst option, they won't stand a chance.
Little White's feet screeched against the ground, kicking up dust in their wake. He immediately turned around, picking up his speed again. He began to race towards the border of the wasteland.
For some reason, cold chills spiraled down their spines. The hair on the back of their neck stood up on its end.
Little White ran faster. He wanted to look behind, this place felt familiar... too familiar for his own liking. Something tugged at his chest, telling him to get out of there as fast as possible.
For a split second, everything became silent . Even the wind seemed to vanish. Then...
Boom!
A river of fire shot out from the ground right before them, swallowing the air in an instant. Heat slammed into them like a tidal wave, stealing the air from their lungs.
Her stomach twisted. Her throat went dry, as if the heat had burned the air itself.' Oh no, it's too late.' Their wide eyes reflected the surging flames.

Meanwhile in the cave.
Diana's eyes fluttered open, her eyes scanning her environment. She gazed at the other team members who were still sleeping.
Her gaze drifted over the debris scattered across the cave. She felt a pang in her heart. As a seer she could not foresee the future, and it had almost cost them their lives. And there was only one reason that could happen. She had been warned before, she just didn't believe it.
' So you were not lying.' She thought inwardly as her mind shifted to the past.
It was then, when she was sixteen years old, she learnt about a secret about being a seer. A secret that no other people could know about, a secret about the world's destruction.
"Diana, come with me." An old woman's voice echoed in a dimly lit room.
The woman looked to be around sixty years old, her eyes were white. She was a seer.
The obedient little Diana followed after her footsteps, which echoed through the room. Getting to a bookshelf the lady stopped, a hand gently pushed against a candlestick which made a hidden door rumble before opening.
They entered the secret room. Diana looked at the room in awe, her heart pounding in her ears. She felt excited and at the same time scared. She doesn't know if she had what it takes to be a Seer.
After they arrived at the inner chamber. She saw strange writing on the wall, bones of different animals decorated the wall, while some were hanging from a string, dancing and twirling around. But her gaze stopped on a particular one, an antler. It was so big that it took up almost all the space on the wall. The antler looked old but emanated power and mysteries, its branches had an intricate curve and twist. The antler pulsed with faint energy, she was totally entranced by it as she wondered where such a majestic antler came from.
The old lady turned, her eyes softened as she saw Diana gazing at it. " That is not an ordinary antler, I see why you are entranced by it." her voice drew Diana out from her stupor.
" Then what type of antler is it?" she asked, but her eyes still lingered on it.
" An SSS beast." the lady's gaze turned grim.
A look of shock flickered through Diana's face, an SSS beast? Was that even possible?
" How was that possible? I mean we have strong soldiers, but I don't think they can handle an SSS beast." her words came out in a rush.
The old lady smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. " You are right, it wasn't done by our soldiers. Rather this antler was obtained after a deadly fight between this monster and another unknown one." she walked closer to her side, her old wrinkled hand gently tracing the antler's branches.
" The monster has remained mysterious, even I cannot see it or its origin. But one thing was certain, it was stronger than this monster. The leaders from section 1 have been trying to find it ever since. Hence the lottery system was made." she shook her head in disappointment.
" So the lottery system selects teenagers not only to train but to see if they can encounter this mysterious monster?" Diana asked, her brows knitted together in confusion.
" Sadly but yes. So that is why you must listen to my words." the old lady's voice turned deadly cold, the air in the room grew thicker. Diana felt her hands slightly trembling, she quickly nodded her head.
" To find this monster, a power must awaken first... the power of chaos." she walked closer to Diana, her presence grew overbearing, and Diana instinctively took a step back.
" If you find the bearer, KILL him."
