Bai Meiyue pulled Lei Qian behind her as the two of them backed away into a corner. When Bai Meiyue saw the mutated dog step out of its hiding corner, she pursed her lips in a solemn scowl. She turned to look at Lei Qian and said to him, "Can you use your long-distance attack?"

"You mean whether or not I can burn it alive?" Lei Qian asked with a frown.

"No, if you can burn that thing alive in three seconds, it will not count," Bai Meiyue shook her head and explained. This mutated dog's mutation was not as simple as the flesh-eating cows. The first creatures that were affected alongside humans because of the doomsday virus were dogs and cats; they were small and much more weak than cows and goats.

Thus, the virus affected these creatures first. Unlike the cows that mutated just a few weeks ago, the doomsday virus inside dogs and cats had been festering for a long time. Thus, their mutation was much worse than the flesh-eating cows.

This mutated dog not only had abnormal speed but it also had a really quick regeneration speed. More importantly, it could only be killed when its core was destroyed with a burning flame.

Burning it completely won't work as its skin and limbs would regenerate under three seconds!

When Lei Qian finished listening to Bai Meiyue's explanation, he pursed his lips. His eyes were staring at the mutated dog as he thought of a plan.

"You stay here," Lei Qian said to Bai Meiyue. Since this mutated dog could only be killed by someone with fire abilities, he didn't see the reason why he should bring Bai Meiyue along with him.

Bai Meiyue pulled him back and hissed, "What do you mean? Are you really me here? The two of us can deal with this thing together—"

"Yueyue, I can deal with this thing alone. You don't need to worry about me, didn't you say that you wanted to go and look for the antique? Go and find it," Lei Qian patted her on the back of her hand and stepped past Bai Meiyue.

When Bai Meiyue saw him act like a chauvinist, she was annoyed to the point of scoffing. She truly wanted to leave him alone but when she thought about the difficulty of handling this mutated dog, she didn't leave; instead, Bai Meiyue chased after Lei Qian.

Of course, Lei Qian noticed her chasing after him and was struck speechless. This woman—she never listened to him, did she?

He rolled his eyes and wanted to tell her to leave this matter alone to him but Bai Meiyue simply hissed at him and said, "You cannot kill this thing without my help."

Lei Qian felt a bit affronted but with the dog turning its head—no, heads—that thing actually had three heads.

"Thats —"

"It will grow a head or a leg each time you destroy one," Bai Meiyue gave him a 'now you know' look before stepping forward. "I will immobilize it and you will destroy its heart."

"How will you—"

Lei Qian's words were interrupted when Bai Meiyue closed her eyes and circulated her essence around her. Small water droplets swirled around her and slowly started freezing before morphing into small lotus buds.

When Bai Meiyue opened her eyes, she waved her hand and the flowers came to rest in front of the mutated dog. At first nothing seemed to happen but soon, in front of Lei Qian's eyes, the lotus bloomed as if they were real.

The ground froze, as did the feet of the mutated dog's.

GROWL!

"Now," Bai Meiyue said to Lei Qian. And just as the man rushed at the mutated dog, Bai Meiyue warned him, "Keep away from the mouth of that thing; it can blow acidic fumes."

Just as she finished speaking, the mutated dog who sensed danger raised his head and looked at Lei Qian. It released a puff of smoke because Bai Meiyue was a second too late in warning Lei Qian. The man had a hard time controlling his speed and even when he dove to one side, the fumes rolled against his left arm.

Fortunately, he was wearing a thick jacket. Thus, the fabric of the jacket was what melted off; if not, it would be his skin!

Slightly annoyed, he ducked down and slammed his fist against the core of the mutated dog. He snatched it right out of the body of the mutated dog and rolled his body off to one side just as the dog turned to look at him.

However, before it could reach Lei Qian, the body of the dog fell on the ground. His dark green eyes were still staring at Lei Qian sinisterly.

Lei Qian wiped the blood off that splattered over his face.

He turned to look at the woman who had deliberately or by mistake kept the most important information from him and questioned angrily, "Yueyue, tell me honestly. Do you want to see me die or what?"

How come this woman forgot to tell him that this thing could breathe acid? If he hadn't dodged just now, he would have gotten an entire cloud of acid blown right against his face.

Looking down at the still melting sleeve of his jacket, Lei Qian shivered. Fortunately, he listened to his sister and wore this jacket or else!

Silently, he swore to treat his sister a bit better.

Bai Meiyue touched her nose and replied softly, "I really didn't mean it. It's not like I can remember everything that I read in that article?"

Lei Qian narrowed his eyes on her. Sometimes he wondered if there was really an article that Bai Meiyue spoke of, but if it didn't exist, how could Bai Meiyue know so much?

"Next time, speak up before someone dies." Lei Qian cleaned the burnt fabric of his jacket and threw it on the ground. He didn't know how effective the remnants of the acid were; it was better to clean.

Or else, if he died here, this heartless woman would leave him here to die.
