Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 145: Charging
Red watched from afar, his eyebrows twitching slightly as the scene unfolded a few hundred meters in front of him.
His vision sharpened by his unique skill allowed him to observe everything in precise detail, from the cracks forming along the monster’s burning armor to the exact moment the black-winged woman descended like a falling blade from the sky and saved the day.
Nothing escaped his sight. Especially not her.
"What’s the deal with her?" he thought, narrowing his eyes.
She did not look like an ordinary person who had been awakened by this strange energy. Even in this ruined world where strange powers surfaced daily and reality itself had fractured, she stood apart.
There was something fundamentally different about her presence. Not just strength.
A slow smile formed on Red’s lips. The desire that surfaced inside him was not simple lust. It was hunger for power. He wanted that woman, not merely to possess her body, but to seize whatever secret she carried within her.
His instincts had guided him this far, and they had never been wrong.
"Let’s keep watching," he muttered under his breath.
—
A little bit far away, on the top of a tall building veiled in orange mist, the red-haired woman also observed the rooftop. Her sharp eyes fixed on the woman who had just unfolded her black wings.
She frowned. "That power it’s not ordinary."
It resembled something closer to her own existence rather than the crude awakenings of humans. This battle had revealed something unexpected.
If that winged woman truly originated from a higher realm, then why had she attached herself to this group? Had she already sensed her presence here?
The possibility tightened her expression. The faint smile she carried earlier faded into solemnness.
—
Back on the rooftop, Samantha’s Resonant Afterimage continued to unleash relentless punishment. The portal behind her hummed as wave after wave of Ether arrows rained down, each projectile striking existing fractures along the monster’s armor.
Hardened fire shattered piece by piece. Flames sputtered and shrank. The creature staggered under the sustained barrage, its condition visibly deteriorating as cracks spread across its torso and limbs. For a moment, it seemed close to collapse.
Then the air around the monster changed again.
A violent burst of fire exploded outward from the monster’s core. The flames surged brighter and denser, swallowing the damaged armor and reforging it in blazing layers. Heat distorted the rooftop. Its presence grew fiercer and more savage than before.
Ethan gritted his teeth even more and raised his twin pistols, Ether gathering rapidly as he prepared to activate his skill.
But he never finished.
The monster launched to the sky in a blazing arc, targeting Ethan directly. It ascended fast, closing the vertical gap in an instant toward him.
However, before it could descend on him, a massive hammer spun through the air from the side. It rotated with crushing momentum and slammed into the monster’s flank mid-flight.
CRACK!
The impact detonated like artillery.
The monster veered violently off course and crashed beyond the rooftop edge.
It hit the ground below with a thunderous explosion that sent fire and debris erupting everywhere.
"I hit that motherfucker! HAHA!" George shouted from the ground and laughter booming from his chest.
He lowered his arm after the throw, clearly pleased with himself.
Myles, Victor, Kade, Daniel, and Clara all felt the tension in their chests loosen the moment George’s hammer sent the monster crashing down.
Daniel burst out laughing first, loud and unrestrained, and Clara followed right after him, her laughter sharp and breathless as if the sheer absurdity of that throw cut through the suffocating pressure of the battle.
George’s wild shout only made it worse. For a brief second, the explosion below felt less like a life-and-death struggle and more like a ridiculous highlight from some brutal arena match.
Even Victor allowed himself a small grin, and Myles’ lips curved faintly, but the relief in his eyes was far clearer than his smile.
Without saying anything else, Myles moved.
He stepped forward first, then broke into a sprint toward the fastest path toward where the monster had fallen. The others reacted instantly.
Victor followed close behind, Daniel and Kade right after him, George already retrieving his hammer that bounced up down the ground as he ran, and Clara keeping pace without hesitation.
Their feet pounded against concrete and broken asphalt as they rushed through drifting smoke and falling embers.
After several long seconds of running at full speed, they reached the impact site.
A massive crater scarred the ground, cracked earth spreading outward like a spiderweb. Burning embers floated in the air. The smell of scorched concrete and molten debris filled their lungs.
The pit hissed and crackled, heat waves distorting the air above it. Even standing at the rim made their skin sting.
Myles narrowed his eyes and focused on the center.
The monster lay there, half-buried in fractured ground, flames still crawling along its body.
"Is it dead?" Victor asked, breathing hard.
"Of course not. If it’s dead, we’d get the notifications from the system," Daniel replied immediately.
"Right..." Victor muttered.
As if responding to their words, the monster’s fingers twitched. Then its shoulder shifted. Cracks along its armor glowed brighter.
"It must be weakened badly. This is our chance!" Kade said, eyes wide and burning with manic killing intent. Ever since Ryan’s betrayal, something inside him had changed. He spoke less, but the violence in his gaze had only sharpened.
"The temperature’s insane," Victor said, glancing at Myles. "You think we can push in like this?"
Myles stayed silent for a few seconds, measuring the heat, the embers, the monster’s unstable aura.
Then he exhaled. "Fuck it. Let’s go!"
He charged straight into the crater.
But he did not rely on recklessness. Ether surged around his body in a tight circulation, reinforcing his skin and muscles, forming a thin defensive layer against the heat.
Flames licked at him as he descended, but he pushed through.
The others exchanged a glance.
"You heard him. Move!" Victor barked.
Daniel, George, Clara, and Kade followed, Ether flaring around each of them as they rushed into the burning crater behind Myles.
From a distance, Michael and the members of his group could only watch in stunned silence, as if witnessing a squad of madmen willingly dive into the heart of a furnace.
