Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 45: Mutant Rats
Chapter 45 - 45: Mutant Rats
"We know and will be more careful in the future." Ye Xuan reassured but didn't elaborate that it was because he trusted the general's character that he was willing to take such risks.
But everyone there was smart and they understood the unspoken meaning of his words.
Chu Hao didn't wait for his grandfather to say anything as he collected the remaining medicine into his space.
This time he didn't use the space ring but the space he got after awakening his superpower.
However, his space was bigger than Li Kun's as he had eighty square meters while Li Kun had fifty.
This must be related to the condition of their bodies as the bodies of the Chu family members had the impurities removed before awakening a superpower.
It also explains why their superpower is more refined and could last longer than others who awakened at the same time.
Ye Xuan didn't look surprised when he saw Chu Hao collect the medicine. He had already suspected that one of the Chu siblings had a space and he was right.
He just didn't know how big it was.
The others, on the other hand, were shocked because they had seen Chu Hao killing zombies with fire, and now seeing him putting things away was shocking.
Only then did they understand that others had awakened more than one superpower.
But they didn't know that Chu Hao had only awakened one superpower and the other was the use of spiritual energy.
"Okay, we'll leave first, Grandpa Chu." Ye Xuan said goodbye and left with his team.
The other Chu family members watched as they left the hospital building and headed towards their humvees.
"Let's collect the equipment before the fog covers everything. Take everything that might be useful no matter how insignificant it may seem." Father Chu told everyone as he walked out and headed towards the elevator.
In the end, they took all the operation tables and apparatus, dialysis machines, oxygen tanks, and everything else they deemed useful.
They walked out of the hospital as it was starting to get dark, got into their cars, and drove toward their apartment community.
On the way back, Chu Hao was driving in front with his sister and mother while the butler drove another car with Father Chu and Grandpa Chu in the back seat.
All of a sudden, Chu Hao stepped on the emergency brake, and the car skidded for five meters before it came to a complete stop.
Upon seeing this, the butler also stopped his car.
"What happened to you, Hao? Are you trying to kill us?" It was his mother who asked the question with her heart still beating faster than a speeding train.
"I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I think I hit a cat." He explained his actions as they all got out to check it.
"Even though it's already started to turn dark, it's not like you've never driven at night before. How could you hit a cat when you have perfectly working eyes?" Mother Chu was seriously angry.
She was still traumatized by her daughter's accident, especially after finding out that her daughter had died in that accident and the only thing that brought her back was the prophecy.
She was scared out of her mind. She thought that there was no prophecy now, and if something happened again, it would be permanent. That scared her more than the zombies roaming around the streets.
Everyone understood her fear and no one took her anger too seriously. Chu Miao walked around the car to her mother and held her hand.
"It's okay, Mom. We are all fine and we'll be for a long time. Let's take a look and see if the cat can still be saved. You have the wood energy which is good for healing. If the cat is hurt, you can treat it."
As Miao finished talking to her mother she heard her brother gasp loudly. He was standing in front of the car checking what he had hit.
Chu Miao and her mother looked at him only to see him shocked and looking like he had seen a ghost.
"Did you see a ghost? Why do you look like that?" Chu Miao asked as she and her mother moved forward.
When they saw that Chu Hao had hit the car, they were just as shocked as him. Especially Mother Chu. Even though Chu Miao was shocked to see something like that in this world, it was not excessive.
In the cultivation world, there were numerous kinds of demonic beasts, and something like the one in front of them was not rare.
"What in heaven's name is that?" Mother Chu asked after the shock wore off.
"It should be a rat." Chu Miao, who had a high acceptance rate, told them as she looked at the thing that had its head almost flattened but was still breathing.
"How is that possible? How can a rat be this big? It's almost the size of an adult cat. Do rats nowadays get this big?" Chu Hao was also finding it difficult to accept something so bizarre.
By now the people in the other car had noticed that something was wrong and came to check.
Seeing the rat lying in the middle of the road was shocking.
"How is this a rat? It's more like a rabbit." The butler had experienced many things in his life but this was on a different level.
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
Just like Chu Hao, he found it difficult to accept such a thing.
"It should have mutated due to the fog. It looks like the fog isn't just changing human DNA, it is also affecting animals." Grandpa Chu explained.
"Grandpa is right. Unfortunately, unlike humans who use their acquired abilities to survive and protect themselves, animals take a completely different route." Chu Miao added that she was the only one with the most knowledge about such mutant animals.
"What route?" Chu Hao and Father Chu asked in unison while the others turned their eyes to Chu Miao.
