Apocalypse: Master of Soul Beasts-Chapter 546 - 114 The Sea King Tribe_1
When the Almighty Demon Vine completely encased a large section of the city wall, the battle situation on the entire Eastern City Wall immediately became clear.
Actually, there wasn’t much of a battle. The Demon Fiends besieging the eastern wall were just obeying the high-level orders of the Demon Tribe, relentlessly throwing their lives away. After all, the lives of cannon fodder in the Demon Tribe were worthless; it didn’t matter if they died.
An enormous number of Demon Fiends continued to charge towards the area covered by the Almighty Demon Vine, only to be sucked dry. The Vine’s thirst was beyond imagination; even from the corpses, it managed to extract all possible value. The parched remains were rapidly drained of every last bit of their nutrients and soon turned into a puff of ash.
Looking at Wen Yu’s face, filled with enjoyment, and then at the Low-grade demonic creatures rushing mindlessly towards the Almighty Demon Vine’s attack range, Ray sighed softly. The Demon Tribe’s Tactical Command Department, it seems, doesn’t know the attributes and effects of the Almighty Demon Vine, he mused. They probably think it’s just some biological weapon and are still trying to break the stalemate with cannon fodder tactics...
Truly meaningless and without honor...
The thrill of power always captivated Wen Yu.
"Oh, Ray, bring me a chair. Also, if you need something, come find me here."
"Understood," Ray responded and left.
With the Almighty Demon Vine at his disposal, it was indeed an excellent decision for Wen Yu to remain on the front lines. Compared to sitting in an office, he much preferred slaughtering the endless waves of cannon fodder there.
With a casual order, a comfortable reclining chair had been placed behind Wen Yu in less than three minutes.
Leaning lightly back on the recliner, Wen Yu squinted his eyes.
Feeling the warm current flowing within his body, watching the relentless horde of Demon Fiends in the distance, and smelling the lingering gunpowder and the scent of blood in the air, Wen Yu yawned leisurely.
This is the life, Wen Yu thought. This is the environment best suited for me.
"Well, I’ll be off now," Ray’s voice came from the side. Wen Yu nodded in response.
「Thirty minutes later.」
Arthur sent a message.
"Wanping has escaped. We didn’t catch a trace of him and have no clue where he’s gone."
"Understood. Let’s call this matter closed."
To me, Wanping is just an insignificant fellow, Wen Yu mused. If we can’t catch him, then so be it. As long as he still harbors hostility towards me, he’ll eventually show himself. And as long as I maintain my overwhelming strength, Wanping will never find an opportunity!
He recalled the distant Cyclops, then released Star and Victor, gesturing to the three soul pets.
"Off you go, children. Just like before. This time, the hunting ground is even bigger!"
Good things should be shared with everyone around you, shouldn’t they?
"Alright, mission accomplished. I’m heading back now. Enjoy your reign at the top..."
Marcus was sitting on the couch in Wanping’s office, stretching leisurely. He then waved at the others with a smiling face before heading out.
When only Arthur, Yang Hong, and Wang Fucai were left in Wanping’s office, Arthur turned to Yang Hong.
"Do you have any plans?"
Yang Hong gave a wry smile. "What plans could I have? Nothing more than threats of force."
When it comes to quickly consolidating a formerly hostile force, this is the only method I can think of on short notice, Yang Hong considered.
"Need my help?" Arthur asked.
"No need, I can handle it."
Although Yang Hong was the weakest in Wen Yu’s team, he was still a Sequence Number!
To ordinary people, a Sequence Number was an exalted god—whether Sequence Number 1 or Sequence Number 100, the difference was negligible to them!
"I’ll stay and help you," Wang Fucai said to Yang Hong.
"Thank you." Yang Hong nodded, appreciating Wang Fucai’s kindness.
"Then I’ll be off," Arthur said, then turned and walked towards the door. The remaining matters barely concerned him.
Upon exiting the Three Skulls Society headquarters, the lingering screams and the stench of blood vanished, lifting Arthur’s spirits considerably.
Outside, a crowd of gawkers had gathered, packed three layers deep around the crime scene.
Gawking at a spectacle is human nature. Besides, anyone could see that the Three Skulls Society had suffered an unprecedented blow. With their headquarters overrun, they certainly couldn’t control the onlookers.
Even a fool could guess the impact this incident would have on the power distribution in the outer city zone. For those daring enough to seize first-hand information and profit from the upheaval, it was a potential path to fortune.
His glistening armor cast a cold gleam under the sun. The sheer power he exuded had an intimidating effect, causing the crowd of onlookers to fall silent.
Arthur frowned at the chaotic crowd before him, then decided to ignore them and head straight for the place he had inquired about earlier.
Seeing Arthur walking towards them, the crowd neatly parted, creating a clear path. The multitude of outer city zone residents watched as Arthur walked further and further away until his figure disappeared. Only then did the buzzing of conversation rise once again.
"Who’s that? He looks so strong."
"Yeah, he’s so manly. If a guy like that patronized my business, I’d give him the full service for free..."
