Chapter 373: Chapter 8: Who in the World Doesn’t Recognize You (Combined Chapter)_1

Wen Yu’s explanation was effective. Or rather, Claus was simply tactful.

After all, regardless of the method, the ability to stealthily enter his bedroom at this time was a testament to one’s skills and enough to attract Claus’s attention.

Calmly draping a blanket over his body and casually knocking out the few women in his bed, Claus raised both hands. He slowly and cautiously turned around to face this uninvited guest, speaking in a formal tone, "How may I serve you, mysterious powerful expert?"

His demeanor was good, neither overly humble nor arrogant. Most importantly, he hadn’t started with useless words like "You’re dead!" or "Who are you?!"

Wen Yu poured himself another glass of red wine and casually seated himself on the plush sofa, waving lightly at Claus. "Relax," he said. "I’m here to discuss some matters with you, or rather, to ask for a favor."

Possibly sensing Wen Yu’s lack of hostility, Claus responded with a smile, "If I can help, I’ll do my best. Let’s just say we’re making friends. So, what can I do for you?"

Wen Yu took a light sip of his red wine and spoke in a slightly flippant tone. "There’s no rush for that. I have a friend downstairs. Could you please have someone bring him up?"

Upon hearing Wen Yu’s words, Claus’s expression slightly stiffened. He managed to sneak into my bedroom without a sound; that alone is a huge loss of face for me. And now he wants to invite a friend up? Does he think this is some kind of party?

Probably noticing Claus’s hesitation, Wen Yu chuckled lightly. "Perhaps you should change your clothes and take a shower to prepare for our guest? What do you think? And rest assured, I truly mean no harm."

Although sneaking into someone’s master bedroom was impolite, the skill demonstrated by Wen Yu and Kuangliu in doing so was enough to show their sincerity.

Claus nodded slightly at Wen Yu’s words and slowly lowered his raised hands, bit by bit, testing Wen Yu’s reaction.

There was no reaction at all.

This left Claus truly indecisive.

When he first saw Wen Yu, Claus had assumed he was the kind of person who, relying on some special skill, had come to extort him. Such people were not uncommon in Sin City. In the past, two or three individuals had managed to approach his bedroom unnoticed.

This fellow’s heartbeat is almost nonexistent. He’s either incredibly weak, or he’s even stronger than I am! Claus was more inclined to believe the latter. Besides, judging by Wen Yu’s attitude, he didn’t seem to have come to rob him.

After pondering for a moment, Claus decided to handle the situation according to his own judgment. "Pardon my discourtesy," he said, nodding politely at Wen Yu. Then he slowly rose, moving as deliberately as possible to appear harmless, and headed towards the bathroom.

Wen Yu, for his part, quietly sipped his red wine. It had to be said, Claus’s red wine was quite good; even an uncultured brute like Wen Yu could appreciate it.

The sound of running water from the bathroom masked other noises within. However, with Wen Yu’s superhuman Hearing Ability, he could naturally discern Claus’s voice communicating with his subordinates through a device.

Whatever makes you happy, Wen Yu thought. This Claus is a clever man. And clever men know how to assess the situation and make the right choice, like a seasoned gambler sizing up the odds.

Sure enough, it wasn’t long before Claus, still damp from his shower, emerged from the bathroom. As if no one else were present, he opened his wardrobe and began to change clothes right in front of Wen Yu.

"Is the wine enough?" Claus asked, once dressed.

"It would be best to have some more," Wen Yu replied with a smile.

"Just a moment, please." Claus inclined his head towards Wen Yu and then openly activated his communicator. "Tell the kitchen to prepare a full dinner. Also, bring up another bottle of red wine—the best one from the cellar!"

He then put down the communicator, picked up a wine glass from the table, poured himself some red wine, and only then said, "I’ve already sent someone to get your friend. I assume it’s the Asian man standing outside the door?"

"Correct."

"Also," Claus continued, "I had my men check the surveillance footage earlier, but we found no trace of you. If I may be so bold, how did you manage to get in?"

"It’s a skill of mine," Wen Yu said, uncharacteristically talkative. "Your defenses here are quite good. However, you shouldn’t expect your surveillance and technology to prevent a super powerful expert from infiltrating. I know it might sound like I’m bragging when I call myself a ’super powerful expert,’ but I’m genuinely not kidding."

Claus didn’t press further. The two men just sat quietly on the sofa, sipping their red wine.

This continued until a knock sounded at the door.

"Boss, I’ve brought him."

The original small gathering of two men and three women had transformed into one with Wen Yu, Kuangliu, Claus, and five of Claus’s subordinates. These five men were all Early Stage Level 4 professionists. The three women Claus had knocked unconscious on the bed had already been removed from the room.

One of Claus’s men brought in another bottle of red wine. Wen Yu didn’t recognize the label, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying it.
