Apocalypse Lord-Chapter 48 - 46: Lord Roland Is a Devil!
Amidst the uproar from Iron Guard Captain Henry, several guards dressed in leather raised their iron swords and aggressively approached the Civilian Corps...
Even though the number of commoners seemed large, Guard Barry’s eyes showed no fear.
It’s normal for the lambs to occasionally gather and resist.
But as long as he walked toward them with a weapon, they would surely be scared to their knees on the ground, begging him for mercy, or drop their weapons and scatter like mice.
It must be like this.
He indulged in fantasy, in this crazy world that had long destroyed Barry’s perception and conscience.
Run away! Run away! Barry thought, slaughtering prey with no resistance was far too boring.
The exhilarating hunt was about to begin!
Several guards soon arrived in front of the crowd, exaggeratingly waving their iron swords, their smiles becoming more arrogant:
"Why don’t you pathetic commoners run away yet—"
Thunk!
Barry’s voice abruptly ceased as a scorching golden spear cruelly pierced through his eye socket!
The smile froze on the Lord’s Guard’s face, his other eye rolling helplessly, pain and confusion flooding into his mind simultaneously, then sinking into the deepest darkness.
Jay expressionlessly withdrew his long spear.
The corpse fell backward, twitching unnaturally on the snow.
Thunk! Thunk!
With several muffled sounds, the other stunned Lord’s Guards also toppled, warm crimson blood flowing profusely across the snow.
For a moment, both sides seemed frozen.
The enemy’s actions made Lin Lan dumbfounded, good grief, were they sending themselves to be killed?
"What are they doing?"
He subconsciously murmured: "Sending a few underlings directly to the opponent’s face?"
Ed also paused, then his mouth twisted into a cold smile: "Looks like you and I both underestimated the enemy’s stupidity, sir."
It seemed the stupidity of these lesser noble’s subordinates once again refreshed his understanding.
On the other side, Iron Guard Captain Henry’s hands trembled violently as he looked incredulously at his subordinate’s corpses, yelling hoarsely:
"How dare you kill the Lion Heart’s noble guards!!"
Henry’s face twisted in anger, pointing his long sword forward: "Everyone attack, kill them all!"
Under the Iron Guard Captain’s command, over a hundred Lord’s Guards shouted chaotically and bravely charged at the commoners!
Of course, this group still lacked any semblance of formation...
The fast ones had already reached the Civilian Corps, while the slow ones lingered deep in the forest.
Seeing the enemy so fierce, the young, recently trained men panicked slightly, but the importance of order was vividly evident at this moment,
The Centurion stood resolutely at the front of the formation, the Decurions tightly controlling the ordinary militia’s formation.
Thus, both sides clashed together.
The outcome was self-evident, as if tofu stabbed into iron, crumbs flying everywhere!
The guards, tired and hungry after a long march.
The Civilian Corps merely needed simple stabs or slashes, and Lord’s Guards fell to the ground, wailing and rolling.
Jay’s wedge-shaped formation was like a meat grinder, in an instant, two or three dozen were torn apart, screams erupted one after another, the guards’ charge halted.
The Civilian Corps began their steady advance forward!
In the biting frost wind, the centurions’ long spears ignited with a brilliant golden flame!
Jay and Colin each advanced, with their steps, Ash Soil weapons drew beautiful golden trails in the snowstorm!
Even the usually composed Ed had to admit, this scene was truly too inspiring!
"Everything for Lord Roland!"
"Everything for our homeland!"
The young men shouted loudly, more and more bodies fell before them, while the remaining guard unit became terrified!
The nobles’ guards usual intimidation had no effect, thus their cowardly nature was perfectly displayed.
"Monsters! Golden monsters!" "They’re not commoners, they’re Lord Roland’s Knight Order!"
The remaining forty-odd people cried out, starting to turn and flee madly, some even tripped over stumps, then were trampled to death by panicked companions.
"You useless cowards!"
At the back of the crowd, Iron Guard Captain Henry fiercely roared: "Get back! No retreating! Get back there for me!"
The wind and snow seemed to lessen.
At this moment, Iron Guard Captain finally noticed Viscount Roland behind the crowd.
The gray-haired young man sat on a steed, his cloak billowing in the wind and snow.
"Viscount Roland, immediately restrain your subordinate commoners!"
He shouted sternly and cowardly: "I represent the authority of the Southern Territory’s lord! Your actions are a provocation to the lord!"
But to his despair, Lord Roland never looked at him once. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Ed, do you think this battle has any meaning?"
Lin Lan observed the battlefield from his horse, his expression somewhat taut, the nobles’ guards performance left him astounded.
To speak the truth, even if they grabbed a bunch of pigs, they probably wouldn’t send themselves this fast.
"Regardless, it’s good for the young men to see blood."
Ed sighed deeply: "Even if it’s a farce, victory can always boost people’s morale."
Seeing the Viscount ignoring him, Henry’s legs trembled increasingly.
He didn’t understand why the situation turned out this way, didn’t understand why the timid lambs transformed into cold wolf packs.
"I can’t die... I must tell the lord about this..."
Henry’s face paled, voice like a mosquito, he looked at the advancing militia, instinctively turned to flee.
However, the most terrible thing still happened.
Unnoticed, the guards’ retreat was already surrounded by people wielding sharp axes...
While the guards charged blindly forward, during Centurion Jay’s frontal engagement, Colin led his hundred-man squad to cut off their retreat.
Iron Guard Captain Henry trembled all over, hurriedly dropping his weapon, weakly lowering to his knees on the ground.
The battle ended so hastily.
The entire process could even be described as comical.
A moment later, the guards who surrendered voluntarily were escorted by the Civilian Corps to Lin Lan.
"Sir, how do you plan to handle them?"
Ed looked at the lord, calmly inquiring.
Lin Lan was silent for a moment, he stared at the terrified pale faces, the young lord’s gaze colder than the snowstorm.
"Execute them."
He said softly: "Leave none."
There’s no place for them on the ship of the new era.
The world fell silent for an instant, the captives with tied hands felt like falling into an ice cave, everyone was scared to death.
The stench spread in the cold wind, some had already started screaming tearfully:
"Devil! Lord Roland is a devil!!"
"I’m Iron Guard Captain appointed by Lord Levell, kill me not, kill me not!"
In the crowd on their knees, Henry kicked his legs despairingly: "Viscount! No! Master! I can be your dog! I beg you don’t—"
Crunch.
The sharp axe swung down.
