Apocalypse Landlord: My Tenants Are All Beautiful Heroines.-Chapter 40: Contract Or Death?
[Drifter: Amaela Quinn’s Affection rose to 17%]
Take your affection and shove it up your ass!
Aiden didn’t want the girl’s affection. That’s why he had been degrading her from the start. Yet the more he did that, the more her affection increased.
On the surface, Amaela acted like Aiden’s degrading words had insulted her greatly. But on the inside, she was thoroughly enjoying it, as always.
Amaela didn’t remember when she realized she was a masochist. But it was one of the reasons she became a streamer.
Whenever the viewers insulted her for making basic mistakes with her content, she immediately banned them. Others thought she did it because she couldn’t take the embarrassment.
In reality, she did it so she could enjoy them screaming at her from un-ban requests they posted.
When the apocalypse hit and the world got turned upside down, she thought her days of being screamed at were over. That was until Aiden looked at her with disgust.
Even back in the shower, she imagined it was Aiden being rough with her, instead of those two cows. It made her time enjoyable.
Maybe I should drop the act now. If I do it excessively, he might actually throw me out.
Now that Amaela had found someone to curse her, she wasn’t going to let that opportunity go.
Meanwhile, Karina, who was sitting beside Aiden, leaned over.
"Um... I think my senses got messed up after the last transformation."
"Why?" Aiden asked.
"She doesn’t look happy, but my senses tell me she is happy... for whatever reason."
Woman, you’re too innocent!
Aiden looked at Karina and sighed before turning his attention back on Amaela, as much as he didn’t want to.
"So, drinking goblin blood mutated you over time?" he asked.
"How many times do I have to say it?" Amaela retorted, rolling her eyes. "I know it was blood. I’m sorry, I was on the verge of dying, or else I would have conducted tests to know if it was goblin blood or pig blood."
"Gag her."
Karina didn’t object and shoved the wooden block into Amaela’s mouth. The werewolf wasn’t gentle because Aiden had told her not to be. A vampire could handle some pain and discomfort.

Oh, for fuck’s sake! Just mute notifications unrelated to her!
[Request acknowledged.]
With that, Aiden finally enjoyed some silence to think about what Amaela revealed.
It’s the first time I have heard of such a bizarre thing.
Drinking monster blood should have messed up her organs and killed her, not turned her into a vampire. He was worried that if people could turn into vampires after drinking monster blood, then there would be too many of them in the world.
However, there wasn’t anything he could do about it. Just like he couldn’t do much about Amaela.
At least she’s here, somewhere I can control her.
Just then, he felt Karina tapping his shoulder.
"Is it all right to keep her here, though?" she whispered.
"You don’t need to whisper," Aiden replied. "Vampires have sensitive hearing. Though I can guess what you want to ask."
The worry in Karina’s eyes wasn’t hidden from Aiden.
"Don’t worry. She won’t hurt a human," he said, looking at Amaela, only to see her staring back at him with wide eyes.
It wasn’t until that moment that it hit her. Amaela had been viewing herself as human all this time. The thought of feeding on them hadn’t even crossed her mind.
In comparison, Karina had been worried about it since the beginning. After seeing those ghouls, she was even a bit scared of Amaela and didn’t want any human to suffer the same fate.
Aiden wasn’t being sentimental when he said Amaela wouldn’t harm them. He was just speaking logically.
Just as someone who had been a vegan all their life wouldn’t suddenly start consuming meat, Amaela wouldn’t drink human blood either.
She might not know it, but her body simply wouldn’t allow it. However, that didn’t mean it can’t change over time.
I have a choice to make here.
Either Aiden could keep her ’vegetarian’ and keep feeding her monster blood, or he could let her true vampire nature take control.
The latter path would require constant vigilance, but he could turn her into a weapon of sorts to deal with people like Old Joe.
Amaela might get addicted to human blood, but then again, it wasn’t like she could harm the tenants with it. At least not when she was bound by a contract.
Right. I need her to sign the contract first. As disgusting as I might find her, I can’t deny that she’d be useful to me in the future.
The only question was... should he betray his oath? Just then, a voice echoed in his head. A voice he hadn’t heard in decades.
⟨Those who had wronged us already paid the price. You need to move on and judge people for who they are, instead of letting your past keep haunting you.⟩
Hearing the familiar voice made Aiden involuntarily curve his lips.
Seriously? You haven’t talked to me in decades, and now you show up to make demands?
Aiden waited for the voice to reply, but it didn’t. Still, his smile didn’t falter. In fact, he was happier than he had been in a long time. So much so, he was willing to be generous for once.
Amaela remained idle until something appeared before her.
"...tenancy agreement?" she mumbled. "What is—?"
"You got two choices," Aiden cut her off. "Either sign the contract, or I rip your head off right here."
"Aiden!" Karina jumped up.
She was horrified not by how casually he said those words, but because he meant every word. Aiden didn’t react to her, his eyes remained focused on Amaela.
"I’ll be straight with you," he continued. "I don’t trust your kind. I would rather kill you and be done with it."
He stopped, remembering the voice.
"However, someone I hold in high regard asked me to spare you, so I gave you a choice. The contract or death. Feel free to pick your poison."
