Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields-Chapter 348 - 341 Beastman’s Victory_3
Terghai spent almost all the tribe’s coins on purchasing practical skills and equipment at a nearby port, hoping to cope with the current situation.
The battle grew increasingly intense.
The Zombie General realized that relying solely on tentacles wasn’t enough to defeat these enemies, so it started emitting acid and shooting spikes and claws.
This strategy quickly exhausted the monster’s physical strength, but its attacks remained highly destructive.
The Taru citizen, clad in a shell, was sprayed with acid from the Zombie General, losing his shell in seconds.
Thanks to a Shaman, he barely survived.
Seeing the Zombie General start spitting acid, the Shamans hurriedly raised barriers to protect the Warriors, while the Archers fired electrified and explosive arrows.
The squad had four Archers, who played a huge role in this battle. They could freeze, explode, paralyze, and burn the enemy...
These Taru citizens were expert bowmen, knowing exactly when to use which arrow.
During the battle, Terghai occasionally thought of retreating to deploy more Shamans and Archers...
The Warriors fought with extreme difficulty, and a small mistake could lead to deadly consequences.
Even Terghai himself had three near-death experiences, but it was already too late—there would be no second chances.
Moreover, even if he sent in more experienced Warriors, they would be nothing but cannon fodder against this deadly enemy.
The battle grew even fiercer.
The Zombie General was under successive attacks from magic, arrows, and powerful skills, but he retaliated with equal ferocity.
As time went on, he continued learning, adapting, and devising more sinister new attack methods.
A burly Warrior with a two-handed sword hacked left and right, constantly attacking the Zombie General’s tentacles.
He managed to charge right in front of the Zombie General several times, inflicting severe injuries.
However, before the tentacles hit the ground, claws shot out from the suction cups, catching the Warrior off guard with such a cunning move.
Tweny-four razor-sharp claws pierced through the Warrior’s Level 4 armor, stabbing his spine, neck, and head.
Even so, this didn’t kill him, but it surely slowed him down, preventing him from dodging an acid attack.
The Shamans and Archers couldn’t react in time.
The attack was just too sudden.
A scream of pain echoed in the cave as this powerful Taru citizen fell.
Terghai hacked at the Zombie General’s body more furiously, but he also endured more damage than others.
The Shamans did their utmost to heal him and interfere with the monster’s attacks.
Without their help, their Lord would have been torn apart long ago.
While the Beastman Lord was enduring the primary attacks from the Zombie General, a flock of silver birds gathered at the top of the cave and began to circle above the monster.
Seconds later, the Shamans sent them diving down like kamikaze pilots, exploding upon impact.
To avoid getting caught in the blast, Terghai temporarily jumped away from the monster.
Another Shaman tossed several pouches of Level 4 healing medicine into his mouth, quickly restoring the Lord’s scales and healing his wounds.
The birds exploded, the Archers fired arrows, the Shamans healed, and the Warriors got back in position, drinking some potions to enhance their attributes.
After the explosions finally ceased, the Taru citizens saw the monster was left in tatters, but...
It suddenly began to rapidly regenerate right before their eyes!
"It’s time to finish it!" Terghai shouted angrily.
But just then, the Zombie General launched a counterattack, all its tentacles targeting the Shamans and Archers.
"Finish it!"
If they didn’t act now, it would all be over! They were almost out of magic value and healing medicine.
The Shamans and Archers gave it their all, attacking the tentacles, while the Warriors hacked into the monster’s body with abandon, trying to reach its core.
The Zombie General thought the enemies would save those Mages and Archers, but its plan fell through.
The Taru citizens sacrificed their comrades for victory.
The giant Zombie shot spikes and spat acid at the attacking Warriors, but at such close range, its attacks were surprisingly ineffective.
The tentacles attacked madly in droves, trying to scatter the enemies and then eliminate them one by one.
But just three seconds later, Terghai finally tore out a Level 4 Energy Core from the Zombie General’s body.
The tribe’s greatest foe fell... but it also killed the tribe’s two finest Warriors.
The others suffered countless terrible injuries, but somehow, they survived...
"They are heroes. Their names will... be remembered forever," the Beastman Lord paid tribute to the fallen Warriors.
Their bodies would be brought back to the Ark and sent off with the highest honor.
The Warriors quickly treated their wounds, collected the spoils, and moved on.
They had more Zombies to hunt.
The death of the Zombie General left the Zombies confused.
They became ferocious, rushing wildly towards the crystal with only one objective: stop the enemies from purifying it!
The Zombies no longer heeded the mutated creatures’ commands, they just ran desperately, trampling everything in their path.
According to Terghai’s plan, his Warriors should have retreated, disrupting the purification.
However, the Beastman was already completely surrounded.
It seemed they had no choice but to stand their ground and fight to the death.
Fortunately, they had Shamans, fine equipment, and springs to hold on.
[Alert! The core has been purified.]
Before all hostile forces are eliminated, you must protect the core.
This message, accompanied by a bright light illuminating the entire island and turning all common Zombies to ashes, informed the Taru citizens that victory was never so close.
Only a few hundred Level 2 and Level 3 mutant creatures survived, mercilessly exterminated by the powerful Taru Warriors and their Lord.
[Alert!]
All hostile forces have been eliminated.
The island has been purified!
All spoils have been collected and transferred to the crystal location.
The rewards have been generated and transferred to the crystal location.
Tens of thousands of Taru citizens’ cheers echoed across the island.
This was the greatest victory for their race thus far. Despite the casualties, they had become much stronger than before.
But this was only the beginning...
