Apocalypse Baby-Chapter 225: Crimson Tyrant [3]
And then...
Steel met steel.
CLANG!
The impact rang out like a thunderclap, followed by an explosion of raw power.
BOOM!
Dust. Smoke. Debris.
Then—a blur of motion.
When the smoke cleared, Khan staggered back.
His arm had been yanked away from the force of Alex's deflection.
Unbelievable.
His crimson eyes burned with fury.
He refused to accept it.
With a guttural snarl, Khan forced more blood into his body, his muscles swelling, his aura growing darker—he was getting stronger.
Then, he attacked.
SLASH
SLASH
SLASH
A whirlwind of cleaving strikes.
Each one powerful enough to split a mountain.
But Alex—he met every single one.
His sword moved like lightning.
Deflecting. Redirecting.
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
The two became a blur, dancing through the ruins, their weapons clashing faster than the eye could follow.
Every step they took, every swing they made—the ground beneath them cracked and crumbled, unable to withstand their battle.
If anyone else had been alive to witness this battle, they wouldn't have lasted a second.
The sheer force of their clash would have ripped them apart, shredded by the shockwaves alone.
Khan frowned, his grip tightening around his axe.
At first glance, it seemed like he had Alex on the ropes—relentless, unstoppable, forcing the human onto the defensive with a storm of vicious and unrelenting attacks.
But that wasn't the truth.
Not at all.
Something was wrong.
He wasn't winning this fight.
He was being allowed to attack.
And he could feel it.
A cold, creeping sensation slithered up his spine—an instinct honed through countless battles.
This wasn't a struggle for dominance.
This wasn't the glorious slaughter he had imagined.
This was something else.
His attacks weren't being met with desperation.
They were being met with boredom.
CLANG!
Khan's axe met Alex's blade again—steel on steel, power against power.
CLANG!
Another strike, another block.
But Alex's expression didn't change.
No effort.
No urgency.
No struggle.
Khan's fury burned hotter.
But deep within that rage—a flicker of unease.
This human… was toying with him.
CLANG!
Alex blocked another strike without effort, his expression unchanging.
He wasn't fighting seriously—he was playing.
Using Khan as a training dummy, adjusting to his newly enhanced attributes.
The gnolls and lesser bosses hadn't been enough. They were too weak.
But this? This was perfect.
"Is this all you got?" Alex taunted, effortlessly sidestepping another heavy swing.
"For an S-Rank Beast Lord, you sure are weak."
"Shut up!" Khan roared, his attacks growing more erratic.
Alex smirked, dodging with ease.
"Even the damned Tree Beast Lord put up more of a fight."
"Damn you!"
Khan's fury exploded.
He swung wide—reckless, desperate.
WHOOSH!
And Alex pounced, slipping into the opening.
His blade sang through the air.
SHNK!
Carving a deep chunk straight out of the Beast Lord's throat.
For a split second, the wound gushed—deep, fatal.
But then...
SCHLUP!
The flesh knitted back together like it had never even been touched.
Khan grinned.
"You're gonna regret that, arrogant human."
And then a sphere of blood blasted out from Khan's body.
BOOM!
It slammed into Alex, the sheer impact kicking up a cloud of smoke and debris.
But when the dust settled—
Alex stood there, unharmed.
His barrier shimmered in front of him, flickering as it absorbed the attack's force.
Khan didn't hesitate.
From within the smoke, the Beast Lord lunged, his massive form tearing through the air like a crimson meteor.
SHLKT!
Blood-red tendrils erupted from his body, lashing out toward Alex like whips.
But Alex dodged, leaping backward—
Only for his back to slam into a pillar.
THUD!
Khan's grin widened.
"Got you."
Raising his axe high, the Beast Lord swung down with terrifying force—
SCHING!
And waves of blood energy exploded forward.
A barrage of crimson slashes, all racing straight for Alex.
BOOM
BOOM
The pillar disintegrated, shredded into nothingness by the relentless blood slashes—
But the target was gone.
High above.
Alex had leapt upward, using [Aerovale] to glide through the air.
Khan's blood-red eyes flickered up, locking onto him.
And with a snarl, the Beast Lord raised both hands—
And the sky answered.
A mass of blood swirled overhead, forming into a thick, ominous cloud.
Then, Khan yanked his hands downward like he was pulling the sky itself to the ground.
FWOOOOOSH!
The cloud burst, unleashing a storm of blood lances, each one falling like an energy beam straight toward Alex.
A thousand crimson spears.
But Alex barely reacted.
He simply activated [Aegis Arcane], and translucent barrier of pure energy flared to life around him, deflecting every drop like rain bouncing off glass.
Then...with a single step on the air, he lowered himself, shifting his weight—And then shot downward.
Straight toward Khan.
Like a streak of motion.
A meteor descending.
Khan saw him coming and braced himself, raising his battle-worn axe, muscles tensing—
Ready to meet him head-on.
But Alex activated the new and improved movement skill which boosted his speed by 300%—[Surge].
And he vanished.
Gone.
Khan blinked once.
Twice.
The sky was missing a human.
Then—
SHLIIIK!
His chest split open.
"Gahh—!"

Khan staggered back, his hulking frame shaking as he clutched his chest.
His eyes widened, blood-red pupils trembling as he saw Alex in front of him—His sword dripped with blood.
My blood.
The realization sent a jolt of rage and confusion through him.
"How?!"
His mind raced.
He had seen Alex descending. He had braced for impact. He had prepared to counter.
And yet—
The pain had come first.
His chest had split open before he even realized what had happened.
Khh...!
Khan clenched his fists. His pride burned.
His muscles twitched as his body knitted itself back together.
The wound sealed instantly, flesh reweaving in seconds.
He felt his strength returning, the demonic energy within him surging anew.
A vicious snarl tore from his throat.
"Damned Insect! I'll rip you to—"
BOOOOOM!
Before Khan could finish a shockwave of pure destruction erupted from Alex's mouth as he used [Echo of Annihilation], warping the air with its sheer force.
Khan barely had time to react before it slammed into him like a titan's fist.
His massive body lifted off the ground.
Then—
He was sent flying.
The Beast Lord crashed through crumbling ruins, stone and debris exploding around him.
The impact sent out tremors, shaking the battlefield.
For a moment—nothing moved.
Then—
Khan rose.
His massive form emerged from the rubble, blood dripping down his body.
His eyes burned with pure fury.
But—Alex was already waiting.
A single hand raised.
Then he snapped.
"Eat this."
