Chapter 320 - 285 Endo Playing Ninja Gaiden 2

While Kumogi chose Duck Hunt as his first game, Endo was on a whole different level of excitement. He was a full-on Ninja Gaiden fanatic — obsessed with Ryu Hayabusa and his intense, action-packed world. So naturally, when he got the chance to pick up the brand-new Ninja Gaiden II for ZEPS, he didn't even hesitate. This was it. This was his game.

The moment Endo got home from the electronics store, he dropped his bag without a second thought, cracked open a cold soda, and bolted straight to his ZEPS console. His heart was pounding with anticipation. This is the Sequel of his favorite game!, and it was about to become his new obsession.

He tore open the game box like a kid unwrapping a present. As usual, it came with the game cartridge, manual, ZEPS Wow! booklet, and a Zabo-man card. This time, the card said, "I will be there teaching you Ninjutsu!" Endo's eyes widened. "Teach me Ninjutsu? Zabo-man?! Let's go!"

He jammed the cartridge into the ZEPS. The iconic title screen lit up, and the soundtrack sent shivers down his spine. This was everything he loved — cranked up.

Level 1-1 dropped him into the thick of it. Ryu Hayabusa sliced through enemies with deadly grace, but Endo noticed something new. Enemies now dropped glowing Chakra Points, which glimmered in midair before vanishing into Ryu's body. Endo was intrigued but unsure what they were for—were they currency, energy, experience? The mystery only made him more excited to find out. As soon as he cleared the stage, a new upgrade screen appeared with four bold options: Buy Weapons, Upgrade Weapons, Learn Ninjutsu, and Hayabusa Upgrades.

He dove straight into Buy Weapons. His jaw dropped. "No way... Halberds? Twin Swords? Greatswords?!" There was so much more than just the classic Dragon Sword. Zaboru had clearly taken inspiration from other games like Koro-Cool, expanding Ryu's arsenal to insane levels.

He grabbed the Twin Swords first, itching for faster, flashier attacks. Then he hit Upgrade Weapons. His current swords had three elemental paths: Shadow, Flame, and Wind — each with three tiers of upgrades. "Holy moly!" he gasped, choosing the Flame Path. His first upgrade: the Enken, a blade wreathed in fire. He grinned like a madman.

Next, he checked Hayabusa Upgrades — basic stuff like health boosts, ammo caps, and movement speed. But then came the highlight: Learn Ninjutsu. When he selected it, the screen shifted into a slick 8-bit cutscene.

Zabo-man appeared — cloaked in black, with a high-tech ninja helmet and glowing blue goggles. He flashed through a series of rapid hand signs. Text popped up: Fireball Jutsu! Flames exploded from his hands. Endo almost shouted. "Zabo-man! He's an NPC?! This rules!"

The game showed three paths of Ninjutsu: Destruction, Buff, and Summoning. He picked Destruction and bought Fireball Jutsu, not just because he wanted another way to dish out damage, but because it was the most practical choice given his limited Chakra Points. He hadn't collected nearly enough during Stage 1-1 to go on a full shopping spree, so he figured it was smarter to unlock a reliable offensive technique now and grind out the rest later. . He was then prompted to assign Ninjutsu inputs. There were four customizable slots. He added Fireball Jutsu to the Left, Down, Right + X combo. Time to test it.

Stage 1-2 dropped him into a new zone filled with traps and fast enemies. Endo, now wielding twin swords enhanced with the Enken upgrades, looked like a storm of fire and steel. Each slash erupted into trails of burning energy, lighting up the screen with vivid bursts of flame as enemies caught fire and staggered in pain. The fluid animation and sound effects made it feel like he was unleashing controlled chaos with every strike . It wasn't just a visual effect, it was pure badass!. And when he launched the Fireball Jutsu using the input Left, Down, Right + X, Ryu Hayabusa unleashed a flaming projectile that tore through enemies with explosive power — pure devastation. The screen lit up with searing explosions as enemies were blasted into pixels. Endo howled with joy. Then he noticed a small but clear drop in the blue bar under Hayabusa's health. Moments later, after smashing a crate and defeating a few more enemies, blue orbs floated into Ryu, nudging the bar back up. "Ah, so using Ninjutsu drains this bar — and those orbs recharge it. Got it. Chakra energy management — that's new... and genius."

Crates dropped chakra energy. Enemies dropped chakra points while occasionally drop Chakra energy as well. He had to manage both — using one to execute Ninjutsu, the other to learn or upgrade them. It was layered and strategic. A thinking man's ninja game.

The enemies got tougher. Some were immune to flame, others moved unpredictably. But he pushed through every challenge with sharp instincts and near-perfect reflexes. Every enemy pattern, every trap — he read them like a seasoned warrior. His muscle memory kicked in, and his timing was immaculate. Endo wasn't just good at games. He was built for them.

When he reached the boss of Stage 1-3 — a massive, towering monk clad in spiked black armor, wielding twin obsidian hammers and known only as Dando the Rage —Endo immediately recognized the shift in difficulty. This wasn't a recycled boss fight from Ninja gaiden 2 Zaboru Previous life. This was one of Zaboru's newly implemented enhanced boss designs, built to push players to their limit.

Dando didn't just attack — he roared, feinted, slammed the ground, and launched shockwaves. It was cinematic, brutal, and brilliantly designed. Endo knew he was in trouble. He dodged like crazy, baiting the boss into lunges, then hammering him with twin strikes. A perfectly-timed Fireball Jutsu cracked the monk's armor. The final blow? A three-hit combo with Enken that sent flames erupting skyward.

He shouted, fists in the air, heart pounding. Ninja Gaiden II on ZEPS was more than he ever imagined.

As night fell, Endo was still glued to the screen. Unlocking more weapons, testing out new Ninjutsu, scribbling down notes for build ideas, and tweaking his loadout strategy — he was deep in it. Every boss beaten fueled his adrenaline. Every new upgrade sparked fresh excitement. He wasn't just playing — he was studying, mastering. He had one goal: beat the game tonight in a legendary all-night session that he'd remember forever.

Grinning wide, he leaned back and let out a satisfied laugh. "This is an amazing sequel! Zaboru-sama never disappoints!" he said proudly. At that moment, Endo knew he wasn't just a fan anymore. He was a full-blown Zaboru fan-boy, ready to follow whatever game the man made next.

I've decided to skip the story since Ninja Gaiden's plot is quite generic. You can check it out on YouTube if you're interested. I'd like to reduce the number of Chapters focused on game reactions like this , and will just highlight the changes or some secret stuff.
