Chapter 236 - 212 ZAGE American ADS

Thursday night, March 20, 1992, Leo Garrick, a wealthy young man, had the privilege of buying anything he wanted with his parents' money. However, he wasn't the type to spend recklessly. He had a passion for collecting model cars and guns, but there was one thing he couldn't do—drive. Ever since he was young, he had been afraid of being behind the wheel. His fear stemmed from a traumatic incident when he was a child; he had been in a car accident with his uncle, who didn't survive. Although Leo had miraculously walked away from the crash, the event had left him terrified of driving. He was fine being a passenger, but the thought of controlling a car himself was something he couldn't face.

That night, Leo sat on his couch, flipping through channels with a sigh. "Why is there nothing good on TV these days?" He lazily scrolled past various programs—sitcoms, news broadcasts, old black-and-white movies—before slumping deeper into the cushions. Just as he was about to turn off the TV in frustration, something unexpected caught his attention. The screen suddenly lit up with a bold logo—ZAGE—followed by the Emerald Wings emblem. He frowned in confusion. "ZAGE? What is that?" Before he could process it, the screen changed again, and a man in a futuristic helmet with a bold "Z" emblazoned on the forehead appeared.

"Hello! My name is Zaboru, and I'm from Japan! I'm new to America, but that doesn't matter! Just see what I have to offer you!"

Leo's eyes widened as Zaboru pointed at the screen, and the scene transitioned dramatically. A Rock Intro Starting then showed the song name "GAS GAS by Zaboru" then Smoke filled the frame as a bold message appeared—"GET READY USA! followed by PLAY WITH POWER!"—followed by "WE OFFER... THIS!"

The intro of a rock song and continues the song saying "GAS GAS", the music rising to an electrifying tempo, instantly grabbing his attention.

As the music changed from Rock to Electrifying Beat , the screen burst into action. The first scene showed A racer with mask driving a sports car then transitioning to pixelated cars racing through a neon-lit cityscape at breakneck speeds. At the bottom of the footage, the words "Rad Racer" appeared. Leo jumped up from his seat. "Holy moly! This looks insane!" The scene shifted again, showing rapid gameplay sequences as the song continued and the Lyrics Appear!.

Guess you're ready, 'cause I'm waiting for you It's gonna be so exciting Got this feeling really deep in my soul Let's get out, I wanna go Come along, get it on

Gonna take my car, gonna sit in Gonna drive along 'till I get you 'Cause I'm crazy, hot and ready But you'll like it I wanna race for you Shall I go now?

On the course of the Vocal the ad cycled through stunning 8-bit action—intense gunfights from Contra, the fast-paced combat of Mega Man, high-speed motorcycle races from Hang-On, and boxing matches from Punch-Out. Mario bounced across platforms, dodging obstacles and enemies, Sonic speeding up. The gameplay was crisp, vibrant, and thrilling, unlike anything Leo had seen before. Each game had its title displayed at the bottom, ensuring viewers knew what they were seeing.

The energy of the song built up as the visuals kept changing. The camera zoomed in on an arcade-style brawler, showcasing explosive combat, then immediately transitioned to a scene of a fighter jet soaring through enemy fire. Leo barely had time to process each game before the next jaw-dropping sequence played, leaving him speechless.

Gas, gas, gas I'm gonna step on the gas Tonight I'll fly and be your lover

Yeah, yeah, yeah I'll be so quick as a flash And I'll be your hero

Gas, gas, gas I'm gonna run as a flash Tonight I'll fight To be the winner

Yeah, yeah, yeah I'm gonna step on the gas And you'll see the big show

The ad continued showcasing game after game, building hype with every frame. It wasn't just a commercial; it was an adrenaline rush compressed into 100 Seconds or more. The flashing lights, the rapid transitions, and the sheer intensity of it all felt as if the TV itself had come to life. Leo felt his heartbeat racing in sync with the rhythm of the commercial. He could barely believe what he was seeing.

Just as the chorus hit its peak, the screen cut back to Zaboru, now standing atop a massive skyscraper, holding a ZEPS console in one hand.

"MYSTERIOUS SYSTEM FROM JAPAN! NOW! YOU CAN PLAY WITH POWER!"

The ad wrapped up with a final shot of the ZEPS console, rotating in mid-air with glowing blue effects surrounding it. Beneath it, a detailed information panel flashed:

"Available soon for $199. Game cartridges priced at $40-$45. PREPARE YOURSELF!"

Leo stood frozen, eyes locked onto the screen, his pulse still pounding from the sheer intensity of what he had just witnessed. "I HAVE TO BUY THIS! What is this thing?! It's like a new Atari but even cooler!" His hands trembled as he reached for the phone, already planning to call the nearest game store to find out if he could pre-order.

His heart pounded with excitement as the commercial faded out, leaving him in stunned silence. What had started as a dull evening had suddenly turned into a moment of discovery, a moment that would change everything. He had made up his mind—he was getting a ZEPS and every game that came with it.
