Chapter 180 - 180 ⟴ Flashing Black Fists

Public Safety Devil Hunter Division.

In the Devil Hunter Division office, Makima sat silently with an indifferent look in her eyes, having just received a call from the Prime Minister.

The livestream from Sankō Shrine and the Tokyo Mountains played on endless loop.

"The power of what appears to be a Primal Devil — Decay! An Innate Technique that warps space for instant movement! The terrifying ability to lift entire mountain ranges! A Sorcerer's technique to command birds! And the power to create a miniature sun with a mere wave of the hand!"

The list of abilities was staggering, and no one knew what other powers Daiki might possess.

"His spatial slash cut down the Smallpox Deity and cleaved through mountain ranges — its sharpness and range were beyond comprehension. How could such a being emerge from our modest Jujutsu World? His power utterly eclipses that of ordinary Sorcerers and Curses."

"The plan cannot proceed — it's doomed to fail before it begins. Even if by some miracle it did succeed, could the Chainsaw Devil's power truly withstand Daiki's spatial slashes and other techniques?"

Even Makima, the Control Devil, wavered for the first time.

Using Chainsaw Man's power to create peace seemed like a fantasy now. With his current abilities, Daiki could easily overwhelm the Chainsaw Devil.

"To create a peaceful world, Daiki remains the greatest obstacle — his power is simply too vast."

His reckless nature made matters worse. If threatened or offended, he wouldn't hesitate to bring Japan to ruin. Though he had spared innocent lives this time, there was no guarantee for the future.

What if all of Japan somehow became a threat to him, just as the Kyoto Sorcerers had?

Thinking of this, Makima sat in her office and pressed her temples.

How could they eliminate this destabilizing factor?

Both Kenjaku's and Makima's plans had been derailed by a single person — Daiki Tsukasa. Yet they were powerless against him, as his strength far surpassed their own.

After long deliberation, Makima called the hospital, "Hello, this is Makima from Public Safety Devil Hunters. Put Kishibe on the line... What? Kishibe broke his cast, pulled out his IV, and fled the hospital by car? He's betraying Public Safety Devil Hunters?"

She stared at the phone in disbelief, almost certain she had misheard. After a moment's reflection, understanding dawned on her.

"Fine, I understand. No need to pursue him. When he returns, have him go to Chiba immediately with gifts to congratulate Inspector General Daiki."

After hanging up, Makima gazed silently at the files on her desk.

What a motley crew — she truly needed to build her own force.

The Public Safety Devil Hunters weren't alone in sending congratulations — the Bureau of Onmyō dispatched Subaru Mitejima of the Twelve Guardians to honor Daiki.

As for the Jujutsu World — despite Daiki's recent rampage of killing and arson, he had become their hero.

From now on, when Public Safety Devil Hunters and Bureau of Onmyō personnel encountered Jujutsu Sorcerers, they would need to show proper respect. Any trace of their former arrogance would be seen as an insult to the Inspector General of the Jujutsu World!

Using the Spatial Transference technique, Daiki and the others had returned.

Iroha remained the most energetic, touching and poking everything in sight.

"How strange — Senpai doesn't have much muscle, yet he lifted an entire mountain range?" She touched her chin thoughtfully, analyzing the feat like a detective.

"Heh, my muscles may not be big, but they're dense!" Daiki rolled up his sleeves and flexed, revealing lean but well-defined arms, "See? Quality over quantity!"

Mei covered her mouth and laughed softly — neither vast Cursed Energy nor tremendous power alone could lift a mountain range intact. This meant he must possess other abilities even stronger than a Sorcerer's, like that mysterious gray energy flow and sun power.

"Daiki-kun, here are drinks and bread..."

Sitting next to him, Hana was overwhelmingly kind, her gratitude for saving her life evident in every gesture.

Seeing her impressive figure pressing toward Daiki, Iroha abandoned her previous train of thought.

"Senpai, I prepared snacks for you too!" Without regard for Ayase and Kirino's reactions, she planted herself directly on his lap and began feeding him snacks.

Kirino struggled to find words, while Ayase stood silently nearby, visibly troubled. Not wanting to spoil the mood, she kept her concerns to herself since no one else mentioned the situation.

Mai and Miko sat nearby, with Mai teaching Jujutsu knowledge after discovering Miko's talent.

Shortly after, Kasumi and Iori arrived representing Kyoto Jujutsu High. Subaru, being closest, came to offer congratulations on behalf of the Bureau of Onmyō.

Just then, Mai noticed visitors from Tokyo Jujutsu High.

Shoko and Maki from Tokyo Jujutsu High had arrived.

Mai's eyes narrowed at the sight of her sister.

"Ah, Shoko-san, please come in!" Mai allowed the school doctor to enter but blocked Maki outside, saying calmly, "Shoko-san is enough."

Though it might offend Daiki, Mai wouldn't let this opportunity pass, even if it meant using all her strength tonight. Maki remained silent, exchanging a glance with her sister before gripping the door frame, clearly intent on forcing her way in.

After all, she was here to congratulate the Inspector General, not her sister, and Mai had no right to block her entry.

Facing her sister's actions, Mai's lips curved into a smile — this was exactly the opportunity she'd been waiting for!

Snap!

Mai raised her hand to block the movement.

"Move aside! In physical combat, you're no match for me!" Maki's glasses glinted with complete self-confidence.

As one blessed with Heavenly Restriction, her physical combat skills were exceptional. While her sister might be a match when using Sorcerer's Innate Techniques, this setting clearly wasn't suited for such abilities.

"That remains to be seen!"

Mai's determined expression made Maki drop her defensive stance. She raised her fist, aiming for a swift victory with a straight punch.

Thud!

To Maki's astonishment, her fist was caught — even though she hadn't used her full strength, how was this possible?

Then something even more incredible happened.

Mai clenched her fist, and her punches burst forth with black flashes.

Maki backflipped away, landing in the corridor, but Mai pursued her relentlessly, unleashing a barrage of punches.

"How is this possible!" The usually composed Maki's facade crumbled.

Each of Mai's punches blazed with black flashes.

Caught unprepared, Maki took a black flash directly. The impact's tremendous force and spatial distortion sent waves of pain through her abdomen.

Mai halted her assault — she had made her point. She wanted her sister to understand that she was no longer the same person.
