An Extra's Rise in an Eroge-Chapter 234: Back at the academy
Chapter 234: Back at the academy
A full day had passed since we left the beastmen tribe behind.
Our original route to the academy should’ve taken a day—at most. But thanks to the Fenrir incident, things had dragged out. There was no time left to swing by the duchy and say our goodbyes to family.
The one-week leave from the academy officially ends today. Tomorrow morning, we’re expected back at the Arcane Academy, sharp. No excuses.
After all the delays, tension, and running around, we were exhausted.
The return journey involved two separate portal transitions: first to the royal capital, and then to the nearest affiliated magic tower just outside the academy grounds. Each teleportation point had strict protocols. We had to pass through layers of verification, magic scans, and magical identity confirmation before each jump. Security had doubled since the last time we used the portals.
Now, we were finally inside a carriage, rolling down the final stretch from the magic tower to the academy. Just an hour left.
I yawned. Again.
"That’s your eighth yawn," Alicia said, without even looking at me.
"You counted?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I had nothing better to do."
Seriously? Who in their right mind counts someone’s yawns?
She glanced at me from the corner of her eye, then smirked. "And before you think I’m weird—I only noticed because every single time you yawn, you stretch like a lazy cat and nudge over into my space. It’s suspiciously targeted."
Ah.
That... did sound like something I’d do.
"Well, I can’t miss a chance to get close to my fiancée, can I?"
"Hey, quit it." Cedric groaned from across the cabin. "My ears are bleeding."
"You two sure sugar your words a lot," Kaela added with a grin, sitting with one leg over the other, relaxed but clearly enjoying the exchange.
"You’ll get used to it," Alicia said, rolling her eyes.
"I don’t think I want to," Cedric muttered.
Kaela snorted. "You’d prefer they jump each other right here? Personally, I’m fine with a bit of sweet talk."
Cedric raised a hand in surrender. "Nope. You know what? I’m not getting into this."
The cabin fell into a peaceful silence after that, the kind that came after long days and too much movement. The creaking of the carriage and the occasional bump were all that remained in the background. Outside the window, the glowing barrier of the academy’s outer walls could just barely be seen over the horizon.
Almost there.
Almost there.
As if on cue, the driver called out, "We are here, Young Master."
The carriage rolled to a stop.
Everyone stepped out.
The tall gates of Arcane Academy loomed ahead—unchanged, still buzzing with faint magical energy.
Cedric stared at them for a second too long. "Weird. Feels like we’ve been gone for months."
Arthur glanced at him and nudged his side. "We were gone for a week. Don’t be dramatic."
Cedric shrugged. "Still weird."
They chuckled lightly and started walking. The campus felt quieter than usual—most students were probably in class. The air was familiar, yet the fatigue from the past few days still hung in their bones.
They made their way to the dormitory building to check in. As per academy rules, students returning from leave had to report to their dorms first before anything else.
The reception hall was mostly empty—except for one girl standing at the counter.
Arthur’s eyes landed on the familiar long purple-white hair and stiff, poised figure.
Nadia Mystic.
Arthur raised a brow. "What are the odds that we came back at the same time?"
Nadia turned at the sound of his voice. Her red eyes settled on him. She didn’t say anything at first—just gave him a small nod. Quiet, unreadable as ever.
Camilla, standing behind the counter, lit up the moment she saw him. "Arthur. You’re back."
He nodded. "Reporting in. Hope you didn’t miss me too much."
Arthur tilted his head toward Nadia. "She been here long?"
"Just a few minutes," Camilla replied.
Nadia didn’t speak, but her gaze lingered a second longer before she turned and started heading toward the dorm stairs.
Arthur gave a lazy wave. "See you around, Nadia."
She paused briefly, then gave a small nod again before continuing up.
"Still the same," Arthur muttered.
"Let her be. Let’s get this over with the check in," Arthur said. "I need some rest."
"Yeah, me too. I am dead tired." Kaela and Alicia said along.
"If that’s the case, you guys go on up, I’ll handle the reporting."
Cedric was already halfway turned. "Thanks bro."
"Sure?" Alicia raised an eyebrow.
Arthur nodded. "Yeah. I’ve got the energy to spare."
Kaela stretched her arms over her head. "Wake me if the world ends."
Arthur smirked. "I’ll knock if it does."
They all headed toward the dormitory lift. The moment the doors closed behind them, Arthur turned around—his expression shifting instantly into something more playful.
He leaned casually on the reception desk, eyes fixed on Camilla.
His expression shifted. Playful. Bold.
With a mischievous grin, he leaned forward on the desk. "So... did you miss me, Madam Warden?"
Camilla raised her gaze slowly, her lips curling as she looked him over. "Tch. That cocky mouth again."
Arthur tilted his head. "You didn’t answer the question."
She leaned forward just a bit, voice low and teasing. "You were gone seven days. Do you really think I spent all seven with a calm mind and cold fingers?"
Arthur chuckled. "No. But I want to hear you say it."
Camilla’s eyes sparkled with challenge as she reached behind her head, slowly untying her hair. It fell down in smooth waves, softening her sharp look instantly.
"Oh, I missed you alright," she murmured, lips barely a breath from his. "Missed your voice. Your hands. That monstrous dick of yours."
Arthur licked his lips slowly. "Want to tell me more?"
She leaned in close, her breath brushing against his neck. "Should I whisper it here at the desk? Or would you rather hear every detail—in my office, behind locked doors?"
Arthur didn’t even blink. "Lead the way."
Camilla walked around the counter, hips swaying with deliberate rhythm. "Hope you’ve still got that energy to spare, Young Master."
Arthur followed, already unbuttoning his collar. "For you? Always."
