An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 72: Betrayal or saviour
Chapter 72: Betrayal or saviour
Riven felt like his punch had connected well, and he expected some result, but the wyvern simply turned its neck and bit into the flame, its teeth going to snap him right in two.
’Shit, that attack had nothing on it?’ Riven panicked, seeing the wide jaw coming for him, he used flame blast right into the mouth.
The explosion pushed the head of the wyvern back and gave him enough time to escape. He landed on the ground and immediately made a run for it, but the wyvern wasn’t having any of that—it shot out a blast of dragon’s breath.
A wall of ice shot out of the ground and blocked the flames. Riven looked at Chloe, she gave him a nod and he nodded back.
Lance got back on his feet, seemingly enraged by the fact that he was tossed aside that easily, he was ready to rush in again.
"Lance, no, think before you move," Robert yelled. After all, they all saw what rushing in could cause.
"We don’t have enough time to worry about that, the wyvern is already coming," Mia said.
The wyvern charged in, smashing through the ice wall, coming for them. So without any plan or without any idea what they were about to do, everyone charged in their own way.
The wyvern swung its tail at them in a sweeping motion, and everyone dodged, going under or jumping above, but the tail slammed into the chest of one guy and slammed him into the wall.
The boy coughed up blood and fell to the ground, no one knew if he was alive or dead.
’The first knockout, this is already bad, can we survive this?’ Riven wondered. He wasn’t certain of anything right now. If this had been the normal exam, he would have known what to do. Right now, he was as good as a sitting duck.
Biting his lower lip, he charged in faster, running like his life depended on it, but then suddenly, a feeling of dread washed over his body, his hairs stood on edge.
A memory came to his head, a memory of the first event. In the story, the wyvern had come in a large place and chased everyone, and the moment that he got them in a corner, it showed its true power and no one would have survived if the instructor had not come at that moment.
The first event was not meant to be a power-up for the student, it was to give them an opportunity to grow stronger. The first major event was simply set by the author to completely traumatize the top students and build their character.
"Oh shit," Riven muttered. He looked at everyone and saw them all running toward the wyvern to battle. He couldn’t stop them, he couldn’t help anyone, not even himself.
The wyvern let out a roar, it tore through the entire place and shook the entire dungeon, their eardrums burst from the sound, and their heads were filled with so much pain that all of them fell to the ground, incapable of moving. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
"Arghhhhhhh!" everyone yelled in pain, their bodies were getting flattened more and more. The wyvern opened its mouth as it readied a massive breath to kill them all.
’No one is coming, this is not the same as the story, someone should have come by now, someone should have found us,’ Riven thought.
[Do you wish to use the title The One Loved by Chaos? The current situation meets the criteria.]
A miracle—that was all Riven could call it when he saw the notification, and without wasting even a moment, he used it.
His forty seconds began. Suddenly, he felt lighter, he shot up from the ground and charged in, his sword at his side, ready to attack. The wyvern spotted him and shot a stream of flames at him. Riven used a former wall and blocked the flames.
He ran past the wyvern and headed for outside. Everyone who was pressed against the ground saw him running out, and their first thoughts: he abandoned them here to die.
Hate for Riven immediately filled their hearts because of what he did, but Noel knew that was not the case.
The wyvern, seeing Riven, immediately turned and chased after him, running for the entrance of the dungeon. It smashed through the doors and chased Riven into the real world.
The pressure that was pressing the candidates inside the dungeon stopped immediately as the wyvern had left. Everyone got back up. After getting so close to death, most of them couldn’t speak.
"I can’t believe he left us to die," Lance said, sitting with his back leaning against the wall.
When Noel heard that, he was immediately pissed. "What the hell do you mean by that? Are you dumb?" he roared at Lance.
"You think we won’t say the truth because you’re related to him? He left us here for himself," Lance said.
"I agree with Lance. Your good-for-nothing brother left everyone here to die. Luckily, the wyvern chased after him," Mia said.
Noel looked at her with wide eyes, his anger rising quickly. "I don’t know if you are dumb or mad, but you are too stupid to think he did that to escape. Riven just saved all of your lives by luring that wyvern out, and you think he ran?" Noel asked.
"The wyvern following him is coincidence. He had no way of knowing that it would have chased after him," Mia said.
"I know you hate my brother, but to allow that hate to cover your eyes so much that you refuse a truth that’s in front of you? Why do you think he pulled its attention before running out?" Noel asked, his voice rising quickly.
"Are you raising your voice at the daughter of the Runeblade family?" Mia asked.
"Screw your family," Noel shot back.
"That’s enough," Robert said, stopping both of them.
"Mia, you should know better than to use your family to oppress others. We don’t know why Riven did what he did, but he managed to make sure that we survived. Intentionally or not, we should be thankful to him.
The instructors will surely take care of the rest as soon as the wyvern gets out," Robert said.
Mia shot Noel a cold look, they stared for a few seconds before she walked past him. Lance got up and walked to Noel.
"I hope you are right, because if you aren’t, your brother will have me to contend with," Lance said.
"If you touch him, I’ll kill you," Noel replied.
