Chapter 23: Chapter 23 You've Come at Just the Right Time
Allen Zhang saw Olivia off. The grand entrance of the luxury house locked itself automatically. He placed his luggage at the front steps, changed his shoes, and walked into the opulent hall.
"What would you like to drink, Mr. Jin?"
Catherine, slightly sober, leaned against the refrigerator, her gaze hazy but smiling at Allen Zhang.
She was dressed in a black commuter skirt, her transparent high-heeled sandals sparkling with crystals, revealing toes polished with red nail varnish, and a pink silk scarf tied around her neck.
Under the light, some of her white foundation makeup had come off. Although it was evident she maintained her skin well, fair and hydrated, the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes and the blemishes on her face revealed her true age.
This is what the real Qi People look like without filters.
Past their thirties, no amount of maintenance can hide the aging.
Allen mused, "Coffee? Or perhaps a bottle of soda water, anything's fine really. I'm not particularly thirsty right now."
Catherine looked at him meaningfully and smiled, a lazy grin, "It's 9:46 PM now, and you want coffee?"
Despite saying so, she nevertheless pulled out some coco beans and started grinding coffee, "Please take a seat, Mr. Jin. It's usually just me here."
"Perhaps you could just call me by my name, Hanberger, or Juan, Ms. Joan."
"Okay, Hanberger, you can call me Catherine," Catherine replied with a smile.
Allen sat down on the sofa, marveling at how soft it was, almost sinking into it.
While changing to a comfortable position and reclining, he probed for some information, "You said you live here alone? Catherine, where's your husband?"
"Divorced."
Catherine spoke nonchalantly, "The guy was a jerk. His only good trait was being rich. We had been doing our own things for a long time."
"..."
Well, okay.
In your advanced world, indeed every aspect is very advanced.
Allen then casually picked another topic, and the two made sporadic conversation.
Accidentally, he triggered a button, and a tingling vibration came from the back.
Suddenly, there was a strange force from under his buttocks.
With a forceful thrust.
!?
Allen jumped up from the sofa like his butt was on fire, doubting his life choices as he stared at the rhythmically protruding sofa.
Hard to understand, but deeply impressive.
You Qi People sure know how to have fun!
Everything is automated.
Seeing this, Catherine smiled nonchalantly, carrying a cup of aromatic coffee and milk candy over, placing it on the table, "Is this your first time being a guest in someone's home? I mean, experiencing the life in a luxury house?"
"No. I used to live in a more luxurious seaside villa in Bali Island."
Allen spoke the truth, as he liked being honest.
"But there wasn't this kind of stuff there. I mean, the island's technology isn't backward, but the environment is more in tune with nature."
"What was life like in Bali Island?"
Catherine mixed herself a NOHO vitamin hangover drink and sat down on the sofa, gesturing him to relax and thoughtfully turned off the automatic mode for him.
If you want to experience it, you can later.
"Well, it's a peaceful place where one can relax and retire calmly. Beautiful beaches, blue waters, the salty sea breeze."
"During the day, you could visit tourist spots with friends, go to the Sacred Spring Temple, Ubud Palace, sunbathe on the beach, surf, and enjoy various fun activities. At night, walk on the beach picking up shells, gaze at the stars, and enjoy a peaceful life."
"Or have a lively bonfire party with friends, singing and dancing freely and carefree," Allen reminisced.
"Listening to you, it indeed sounds wonderful! I'm quite tempted now, can't wait to fly there and experience a vacation on Bali Island."
Catherine was intrigued but also regretful, "Unfortunately, I'm very busy with work normally, hardly able to get away."
From the conversation, it was evident to her that Allen wasn't lying; he had genuinely experienced that kind of life. One's temperament can't lie, no matter how much a person does.
The difference between the poor and the rich is instantly noticeable.
Otherwise, she wouldn't ordinarily invite an Asian stranger to stay overnight in her home.
"Really? May I ask what you do for a living, Catherine? Do you own your own company?"
Allen glanced around at the mansion's facilities, inquiring, "Properties in this district must be at least three to five million US dollars, right?"
Catherine looked at him curiously, replying, "Don't you follow the news?"
Allen puzzled, "Why? What does that have to do with anything?"
Catherine said with a smile, "My ex is a star agent for the NBA Lakers, and he gave me this house. Or rather, I got it from him through a lawsuit using some incriminating secrets of his as leverage. He cheated during our marriage and even kept five or six mistresses and two illegitimate children at the same time."
"Ah?"
Allen Zhang was taken aback, not expecting such a response.
He was even ready to praise you for being smart, capable, fair-skinned, beautiful, and business-savvy. But with what you just said, I really can't give you those compliments.
Catherine picked up her cup, took a sip, and said with a smile, "But that's all in the past now, I'm currently the CEO of an advertising company."
"..."
Allen Zhang didn't know what to say.
Being a CEO is great, self-reliant and strong.
"Hanberger, you said you were in the recycling business before? What exactly does that entail?" Catherine asked.
"Collecting discarded cans, just that simple. Due to special reasons, all my documents have been canceled, and I currently do not have a stable job nor belong to any country, but I'm preparing to pull some strings to restore my status."
Allen Zhang said half-truthfully.
Catherine didn't know much about this area, got a brief understanding of Allen Zhang's current predicaments, and decided not to pry further into anyone's privacy.
"I must say, you are really strong! My wrist turned red from how you grasped it in the car earlier, do you always treat women this roughly?"
Catherine complained, intentionally or unintentionally placing her hand on Allen Zhang's leg.
Allen Zhang looked down and indeed, it was a bit red and even slightly bruised.
"I just happen to possess natural strength."
Allen Zhang apologized, "I accidentally hurt you, I'm really sorry."
He casually took her wrist, gently massaging and grinding, "Let me see how bad your hand is hurt."
"Then you must have a great physique," Catherine said as she leaned closer.
Allen Zhang sat next to her, pressed her hand against his abdomen, and slowly lifted the hem of his shirt to reveal his six-pack abs, smiling slightly, "Of course."
Catherine watched intently.
Breathing quickly.
Gosh, this feels...
"You're as strong as a bodybuilder. I mean, you're certainly a lot better than my pot-bellied, good-for-nothing ex-husband!"
If you say it like that, I'm flattered.
Keep talking, I love listening.
Catherine wanted to ask more, but couldn't help it, her consciousness was blurring, and she made a brazen move.
Allen Zhang stopped her midway and said earnestly, "I appreciate your hospitality tonight, Catherine. But was this the only reason you invited me here?"
Catherine looked infatuated, smiling foolishly, "Of course, I will 'shelter' you, and if you perform well, I might even pay you a handsome fee! You can name your price."

"The payment should ideally be a token of appreciation for my kind gesture, not any other kind of transaction."
Allen Zhang felt it necessary to clarify before to avoid any confusion afterwards.
This lady is a tough one who stripped her ex-husband bare, not someone to mess with.
I'm not for sale.
You were the one who invited me in.
"Of course, as you wish, sir! Now, shouldn't you do what I want?"
Catherine let out a heated breath, unable to wait any longer and started hugging and biting Allen Zhang, almost devouring him alive.
Sss... Thirty like a wolf, forty like a tiger. The ancients did not lie to me!
That escalated quickly, now onto the pay-per-view show.
Probably over an hour later.
Olivia from the property management was watching TikTok videos when suddenly she received a phone call.
"Hello, this is Corona Crown District property management... Oh? Okay, I'll come right now."
Olivia groomed herself carefully, drove the community property's balance car, and holding a bottle of soda, arrived at Villa No. 964.
The security door opened from the inside, Olivia walked into the yard, pushed the door and entered. Although she was psychologically prepared, she was still shocked by the impactful scene presented.
Olivia incredulously covered her mouth.
"Sorry, I probably came at a bad time?"
"No, you've come at just the right time."
"Customer service is also part of your job, isn't it?" Catherine muttered.
"Yes."
"Come over!!"
