Chapter 20: Chapter 20 The Weather is So Hot

"Thank you, Rena! You're such a kind-hearted person! May God bless you!"

Allen Zhang saluted her solemnly, carrying a box on his shoulder, and worked even harder.

In less than half an hour, his clothes were soaked with sweat, and eventually, he simply chose to take them off and work bare-chested.

Rena watched as Allen Zhang tirelessly worked like an ox, his bronze skin, and his cold, hard muscle lines like those of an Ancient Greek statue, along with his six-pack abs. She couldn't help but take another look, and another, and another...

Forget it, if mom likes this type, then I'll keep looking!

Why have such a great body if not to show it off?

As Rena watched, she felt herself getting hotter. My goodness, she thought, if that energy was used on a person, it would be crazy!

What hot weather.

Having worked for a while, Allen Zhang felt somewhat uncomfortable with someone staring at him from behind and glanced back with a life-questioning look, only to find his partner and boss had completely stopped working.

"Can you take your eyes off me? Rena, this is sexual harassment of an employee!" Allen Zhang immediately started to complain.

"Sorry."

Rena apologized insincerely, distractedly arranging the goods, then complimented, "You really maintain your physique well! Allen, do you need some water?"

"Of course."

Allen Zhang nodded.

But I've only been working for less than half an hour, and you're clearly finding various excuses for me to take breaks and be lazy. Isn't that a bit too much?

We're being paid by the government, after all.

Shivering with frustration, truly, slackers exist everywhere.

Rena didn't care much, she quickly went into the supply warehouse, and came out with a towel and a beverage, set up a chair, and told him to sit and rest a bit.

Allen Zhang gulped down a bottle of water, rested for a brief three minutes, chatted for a bit, and then started back at his job, quickly emptying a charity truck.

The white driver with an Oregon license plate also felt the efficiency was a bit faster this time.

Clearly, only one person was working, but one agile worker equaled the work of three normal ones!

Is this the power of overachievers?

After the goods were unloaded, the truck driver signed the charity goods form with Rena, confirming the delivery was successful, and after greeting the other drivers, he drove off.

"If you don't have anything else to do now, consider making me some food; don't affect my work efficiency, Rena."

Allen Zhang carried a stack of tents into the warehouse, came back out, and unapologetically directed Rena, completely focused on finishing work early.

Hourly pay isn't high, it's basically a friendly price. Why bother dawdling?

"Alright," Rena readily agreed. "What would you like to eat?"

"Anything that fills the stomach is fine," Allen Zhang wasn't picky.

"Sweet and sour pork chops? General Tso's Chicken?"

Considering he was Chinese, Rena immediately pulled out her phone to ask.

"Either is fine, but that's American Chinese food. Are you sure you can make it?"

Allen Zhang looked at this foreigner somewhat skeptically.

Then he saw Rena busily tapping on her phone.

Soon after, she sat back down on the chair, resting her chin in her hand, and continued to shamelessly admire his physique.

"Dinner's ready! Go back to work, sir. Hurry, I want to see you pull that big box."

She pointed to a cardboard box filled with second-hand clothes.

"..."

Allen Zhang questioned life.

Order Chinese takeout?

You're so extravagant!

Your employee benefits are way too good.

Also, what do you take me for?

I sell art, not my body!!

"How about this pose?"

Allen Zhang pulled the box, bending sideways, and casually showed off his biceps and perfect figure.

"Fantastic."

Rena flashed a satisfied smile and immediately picked up a cup to drink some ice water to cool off.

About an hour later.

Allen Zhang finally finished unloading the remaining two trucks, sat back with his head tilted back, wiped the sweat off his face with a towel, and covered his face with it.

Feeling like he had burned too many calories.

Rena had also signed off on the delivery with the drivers and sent them on their way, walked around the warehouse with pen and paper, scribbling and sketching. Midway, she answered a phone call and found out the takeout had arrived.

Coming out and seeing Allen Zhang, who was motionlessly slumped in his chair, she said, "Allen, you can go up to the second-floor bathroom to take a shower, and then come down to eat."

Allen Zhang didn't refuse; he just gestured an 'ok' and continued to sit in his chair, resting.

Seeing this, Rena didn't say much more, just placed an energy drink on the table next to him and went out to get the takeout.

Allen Zhang rested in the chair for a few minutes, drank half of the beverage, then got up to take a shower upstairs.

The second floor of the shelter was off-limits to non-staff, and homeless people could mainly rest only in the dedicated hall and registration area.

But many homeless people would rather sleep outdoors than with a crowd of Poison Worms, thieves, and people with mood disorders.

Because you might wake up the next day finding everything gone, stolen.

Or suddenly start breaking out in red rashes after a couple of days, catching skin diseases, fever.

Or suddenly wake up in pain in the middle of the night.

Severely hurt.

Allen Zhang found a bathroom labeled 206, walked in, and saw numerous personal garments hanging there.

Pink, white, with lace borders.

Even a leopard-print thong.

Hiss... Who knew Rena was so bold privately? Never judge a book by its cover.

Above the sink in front of the mirror were facial cleanser, concealer, a comb, a hairdryer, all giving off a milky scent.

Soon, Allen Zhang saw a pink massager that shouldn't have been there.

"..."

Pretending nothing happened.

It must have been forgotten by someone after using since nobody normally lives here, and today is still a day off.

These things are pretty popular amongst divorced single women.

Allen Zhang casually picked a disposable shampoo and shower gel, closed the bathroom door, turned on the faucet, and started scrubbing.

Returning with the food, Rena noticed nobody was on the first floor. Not seeing Allen Zhang in the warehouse either, she realized he had gone upstairs to shower.

Suddenly, remembering she had left something in the bathroom, her heart skipped a beat, and she hurried upstairs.

She reached the second floor and without saying anything, pushed the door open.

Then she saw Allen Zhang, naked, wearing nothing at all.

His back facing her.

The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.

Hanging there like a pendulum.

"WTF!!!"

Allen Zhang startled by the noise, quickly grabbed a piece of cloth to cover himself. The foam on his head dispersed.

"Hey! You should at least know to knock on the door, right? Or do you want to come in and join me?"

Allen Zhang rubbed his eyes, looking annoyed at the incoming person.

"There's nothing to be shy about, I've seen everything in my life. Boy, this is my turf," Rena walked over casually, taking the massager as she passed by.

Her red ears, however, betrayed her inner unease.

Boldly took a quick glance, arching her eyebrows.

"У тебя большой парень."

"What did you say?" Allen Zhang, completely confused, his knowledge of Russian didn't help here.

"Nothing much, just remember to come down for dinner after you're done."

Rena turned to leave, meaningfully said, "If you want to keep holding onto it, I can lend it to you for a while. Just make sure to clean it well."

Allen Zhang glanced at the pink cloth in his hand.

He felt somewhat numb.

Are you sure?
