Chapter 174: Chapter 65: Honesty is a Virtue_3

But just look at first class now, as soon as Tommy boarded the plane, four women, perfect in their short skirts, silk stockings, and high-heeled shoes, as well as in their lovely appearance, bowed in salute, embodying the very image of flight attendants men fantasize about.

The leader even winked at Tommy Hawk with her beautiful eyes and deliberately spoke the kind of teasing words that fulfill male fantasies, "Sir, does your girlfriend know that you are about to fly with us?"

"I wish I had a girlfriend to boast about flying with you," Tommy smiled at her and replied before following her to his seat.

Don’t be fooled by the ambiguous compliments, they say that to all first-class passengers. It’s JetBlue’s advertising slogan, there’s probably no harm in a hug, a pat on the thigh, or a photo together, but if you think a few words from them on a flight would lead you into fantasy, you would be too naive. Those words are just a ploy to get you to choose JetBlue again next time. If you dare to harass one of JetBlue’s increasingly rare valuable assets, prepare to be taken to court.

If you really want to do as you please, you’d better own a private jet and take the flight attendant you fancy onto your own plane for some private service.

Boarding at four o’clock in the afternoon, he only arrived in Boston at nine in the evening after a five-hour flight. Robert Miller had arranged a driver to pick him up, but Tommy did not take his car. Instead, he asked the driver to go back and tell Mr. Miller that it was already late and he would visit Quincy to see him tomorrow.

Then Tommy went to the parking lot and got into the car Sophia had brought to pick him up.

In the last few days, Susan, Sophia, Mark, and Delia all stayed in Boston, only Holly, having received a call from Tommy about him leaving Stanford, rushed back to cover the work after his departure.

Driving a rented Mercury, Sophia asked Tommy, the co-driver, "I think you’re beyond help, Tommy. When you travel alone, you don’t choose red-eye flights, and every time I accompany you on a plane, it’s always red-eye. Are you targeting me?"

"Based on what you know about me these days, why do you think I didn’t choose a red-eye flight?" Tommy opened the window and lit a cigarette:

"Of course, it’s because I don’t have to pay for myself. I’m going to meet a SSD alumnus in Quincy tomorrow, and he’s the one who prepared the plane ticket." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Do you want me to drive you directly to Quincy in the middle of the night?" Sophia laughed, "It sounds like a bit of a drive."

"No, we’ll stay in Boston tonight and drive over tomorrow morning. It’s the same. I’m just worried—I have a very pretty high school teacher, and she’s also in Quincy. It sounds like she’s very intimate with the alumnus, maybe his father’s friend or business partner... So I called you to pick me up." Tommy said with a laugh, cigarette in hand, his arm resting on the window as he appraised Sophia’s profile in the night as she concentrated on driving.

Sophia frowned slightly, "It sounds like there’s no direct connection between having a pretty teacher and you asking me to pick you up."

"You resemble her a bit, and looking at you more now would increase my resistance, in case she comes up with some exaggerated movie plot where if I agree to some crap deal the reward is marrying the teacher. Then, I could resist the temptation," Tommy said, flicking ash off his cigarette and looking out into the night.

Sophia had already grown accustomed to Tommy’s teasing; although he liked to get the upper hand verbally, he was still very gentlemanly towards her and did not make any inappropriate advances, so she responded with a smile:

"Just looking won’t heighten that desire to have her?"

"Nope, trust me, it definitely won’t," Tommy said earnestly, returning his gaze:

"That’s exactly why I chose you to pick me up. I just need a glance at your figure and then imagine in my mind that the teacher has the same ’airport code’ as you, and I can be sure, she wouldn’t even get a second look from me, naked or not."

Sophia’s expression remained calm upon hearing Tommy’s words, showing no signs of blowing up, which both piqued Tommy’s curiosity and relieved him. Quickly, though, he realized something wasn’t right:

"You’ve grown, Sophia... uh... this isn’t the way to the hotel, Sophia, look at the signs, you’ve taken the wrong road."

"We’re going straight to Quincy," Sophia hit the accelerator, merging onto the interstate, then turned to look at Tommy, "I don’t know if you ever had a chance with that beautiful teacher, but I’ll definitely make you lose any such possibility after you’ve insulted my figure again."

"You see, if you don’t want a six-foot-nine behemoth of a driver to take you to Quincy, but pick a beautiful female driver instead, it’s this easy; just a little provocation does the trick," Tommy said laughingly to Sophia.

Sophia sighed at first but then took a deep breath, looked forward, and smiled, "I feel a bit better now, after all, you were just lying to provoke me, right?"

"I didn’t lie, I provoked you with the truth," Tommy adjusted his sitting position, resting his hands behind his head:

"My mother always said before she left this world that honesty is a virtue."

The Mercury sped away into the night, leaving only the unique ranting of an outraged woman echoing in the night breeze, "You better stop being honest about women’s figures, or I’ll send both myself and this jerk to heaven so I can ask your mother face to face, how she raised such a scumbag."
