Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever-Chapter 104 - Why do I feel like you actually like her?
Voren dragged the two unconscious men far beyond the reach of the club’s lights and noise, pulling them deeper into the quiet grove where thick trees swallowed the sounds of the city and the darkness grew heavy enough that no one wandering nearby would ever notice what was happening among the shadows.
When he finally found two sturdy trunks standing several feet apart, he forced each man upright against the rough bark and bound their bodies tightly with rope, securing their wrists and chests so firmly that even the strongest struggle would only tighten the restraints rather than loosen them.
Once he was satisfied that neither of them could break free, Voren walked away without saying a word, leaving their limp bodies hanging against the trees while the night wind stirred the leaves above them.
Several minutes passed before he returned, his hands carrying several objects that gleamed faintly under the dim moonlight filtering through the branches. A bottle of strong alcohol rested in one hand while a whip hung loosely from his fingers, and the unmistakable weight of a gun rested at his waist while a long sword glinted coldly in the darkness.
Without hesitation, Voren twisted the cap off the bottle and lifted it to his mouth, swallowing several deep gulps as the burning liquid slid down his throat, and then he tilted the bottle forward and poured the remaining alcohol directly over the faces of the two unconscious men tied to the trees.
The strong scent filled the grove instantly.
Riven and Gray jolted awake almost immediately, coughing and gasping as the liquid splashed across their skin and soaked their clothes, their instincts screaming danger before their minds even caught up with what was happening.
It took only a moment for them to realize they could not move.
"Voren, what the fuck?" Gray shouted angrily as he struggled against the ropes binding him to the tree, only to feel the restraints tighten painfully around his wrists and chest with every attempt to break free.
Blood dripped slowly down the side of his face from the earlier blow Voren had delivered when the bottle smashed against his head, leaving a dark trail along his jaw.
Under normal circumstances their wolves would have already begun repairing the damage inside their bodies, but the city’s suppressing influence kept their abilities restrained, leaving them unable to draw on their usual healing strength.
Voren stepped forward without warning and slapped Gray across the face with brutal force, the sharp sound echoing through the quiet grove as his voice followed with icy calm.
"Mind your language."
The look in his eyes froze both men where they stood, because the cold fury burning there was something they had never witnessed before.
Riven stared at him in stunned disbelief while fear slowly crept into his chest, the situation becoming more terrifying with every passing second.
"Voren, we are all Alphas here," Riven said quickly, forcing the words out as he struggled to keep his voice steady. "You cannot treat us like common criminals."
Those words caught Voren’s attention immediately.
His sharp gaze locked onto Riven with unsettling intensity.
"If you behave like a criminal, then I will treat you like one," Voren replied calmly.
Riven’s teeth clenched together as anger and humiliation bubbled beneath the surface, and before he could stop himself the words spilled out.
"The bitch humi—"
The insult never reached completion.
Voren’s fist slammed into his face with brutal force, snapping his head sideways as pain exploded through his jaw and cheek.
"Second chance," Voren said coldly as he flexed his fingers slowly. "And I expect you to mind your language."
Riven sucked in a sharp breath through clenched teeth while glancing around desperately, but the grove surrounding them remained dark and deserted, and the faint scent of alcohol on Voren’s breath coupled with his behavior, made it clear that he had already drunk quite a lot.
Gray, who had been struggling moments earlier, suddenly fell silent as fear tightened in his chest because the man standing before them did not appear interested in reasoning or negotiation.
All he wanted now was to get out of this situation alive.
"Voren, please," Gray said cautiously while trying to sound respectful despite the panic building inside him. "You know that as Alphas we were only standing up for the humiliation Seraphine gave us."
Voren stared at him with a hardened expression that made Gray hesitate slightly.
"You talk as if I was not there," Voren replied in a low voice.
Gray swallowed before continuing, determined to push his point further.
"Why do I feel like you actually like her?" he asked as if pointing out something obvious that Voren had conveniently forgotten. "She is Ravyn’s ex-wife, and she is the same woman who sent those nude videos around for everyone to see. You should also remember how she bullied Daisy since they were kids and how Ravyn lost his parents love because of her."
For reasons neither of them could understand, Voren remained completely unmoved by the explanation.
"That still does not give you the right to attack her inside this club," Voren said through clenched teeth, his voice tight with anger. "Not when she is under my protection."
Those words hung heavily in the air, and for the first time the weight of what they had done began to sink into the silence surrounding them.
"Alright, fine, we are sorry," Gray muttered reluctantly while blood continued dripping down his temple. "But I am bleeding here, so just let me go and get treated."
"Yeah Voren, let us go, alright?" Riven added quickly, sensing an opportunity to ease the situation. "We can apologize to her later."
Gray immediately shook his head stubbornly. "Never," he said with clear refusal. "That would only upset Ravyn, and we did this for him in the first place."
Voren stared at both of them for several long seconds before slowly shaking his head.
"Rules exist for a reason," he said calmly. "When you break them, you pay."
A heavy unease settled into both men as they remained tied to the trees in the silent grove, the darkness surrounding them making the entire situation feel far more dangerous than they initially realized.
"Fine," Gray said after a tense pause, his voice filled with irritation rather than remorse. "If you want compensation, then how much?"
Voren chuckled quietly, though the sound carried no warmth whatsoever.
"If you want to leave this place alive," he said slowly, "then there are two options available to you."
