Alpha Razor King-Chapter 77: Confrontation.
**Isabella**
"Is that... is that my child?" His voice was barely a whisper, filled with a longing I hadn’t heard in years.
I nodded slowly, tears welling up in my eyes. "Yes," I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, he’s ours."
He took a step closer, his eyes never leaving the pup. "I... I didn’t know," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I didn’t know about this."
I looked up at him, seeing the pain and regret etched on his face. "I wanted to tell you," I said, my voice breaking. "But things were... complicated."
Razor’s grip was like a vice as he pulled me into the office, his furious eyes locked on mine. I stumbled backward, my heart racing, clutching our baby pup tightly against my chest.
"How could you, Isabella!" His voice was a thunderous roar, filled with rage and betrayal, as he pointed an accusing finger at me.
I felt a surge of fear and confusion. "Razor, please," I pleaded, trying to keep my voice steady. "I-I can explain."
He stepped closer, his eyes blazing with anger. "Don’t play dumb with me!" he snarled. "You fucking did this on purpose."
I shook my head, feeling tears welling up in my eyes. "I swear, I didn’t know at first," I said, my voice trembling. "Please, Razor, please believe me."
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Why did you hide my child from me, Isabella?" he demanded. "Why didn’t you return home!"
I tried to speak, to explain, but my words caught in my throat. I took a deep breath, steadying myself. "Razor, I... I was scared," I managed to say. "Scared of what you might do."
"Scared?" he repeated, his tone mocking. "You hid my child from me because you were scared? How could you, Isabella? How could you keep something like this from me?"
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to find the right words, to make him understand. "I thought I was protecting him," my voice trembled. "I didn’t want him to be caught up in your world, in the danger that surrounds you."
Razor’s expression softened slightly, but his eyes still held a glint of anger. "You should have trusted me, Isabella," his voice was quieter but no less intense. "You should have known that I would never let any harm come our child’s way."
"I know, Razor," I sighed, tears streaming down my face. "I know now, but... but back then, I was so scared, scared of you."
Razor took a step closer, his expression pained. "I understand that you were scared, Isabella," he said, "but I’ll never forgive you from keeping this away from me."
"I’m sorry, Razor," I whispered, feeling my heart breaking. "I’m so sorry."
Razor didn’t reply. Instead, he just leaned down and gently lifted our beautiful pup into his arms.
"It’s a boy, and he has your eyes," I told him, hoping to soften his heart. I didn’t miss the slight smile that played on his lips as he looked down at our pup.
"What’s his name?" he asked, his voice softer now, filled with both curiosity and tenderness.
"I didn’t name him yet," I admitted. "I couldn’t do it without you. I really did try, but I just couldn’t come up with a name without your consent."
Again he didn’t reply, but he continued cradling our sweet child to his chest, his gaze never leaving him. I felt my heart swell with happiness as I watched them, the sight of them together so beautiful and heartwarming.
I also noticed that Razor had changed since the last time I saw him. He had grown a little leaner, his hair longer, but his cheekbones seemed more pronounced, as if he had been under a lot of stress. I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was because of me.
"Why did you change your mind and come back?" His voice broke into my thoughts, pulling me back to the present.
"Some unknown people broke into my apartment and tried to kill me," I explained, my voice trembling slightly.
His brows furrowed slightly. "Humans?"
"No, they were werewolves," I replied, watching his reaction closely. "I tried to ward them off until Chris arrived just in time to save me."
Razor’s expression darkened, his jaw clenched in anger. "Werewolves," he muttered coldly.
"Chris found out from one of the attackers that it was Beta Tom who orchestrated the attack,"I explained.
"How did that bastard know you were in Linkin Town?" Razor growled.
"You knew I was in Linkin Town?" I asked, stunned by his words. All this time, I had thought he was unaware of my location, but he knew all along and had let me go in peace?
"Yes," Razor replied curtly. "But I decided to grant you your wish and let you go in peace."
"I..I.." I stuttered, unable to find the right words to say. The realization that Razor had known where I was all along left me feeling conflicted and confused.
"Then you must have heard everything?" he asked me. His voice was gentle but probing.
I nodded, feeling a lump forming in my throat. "Yes, I heard everything."
Razor sighed, his gaze softening as he pecked our baby’s forehead before handing him back to me. "I have to go do something," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I know you don’t want to be here, but I’m sorry, you’ll have to deal. I can’t let you go, at least not yet, because of our pup. I’ll die before I let anything happen to him."
With that, he walked out of the office, leaving me feeling a mix of emotions. I should have been happy with his words, relieved that he was committed to protecting our child. But instead, I felt a wave of sadness and guilt wash over me.
What had I been expecting? That he would say he missed me, that he loved me after everything that had happened? Who was I kidding?
I sat on the couch, trying to calm myself down a bit after the intense conversation with Razor. Felicia walked into the office, carrying a tray with a can of juice and a glass.
"Are you alright, Luna?" she asked, smiling as she placed the tray on the table. "I brought you some juice."
"Thank you so much, Felicia," I nodded, returning her smile. "You don’t have to call me Luna anymore... I don’t think Razor will like that."
"Nonsense," she scoffed, taking a seat next to me. "I don’t think he’ll mind. Can I carry him?" She asked, glancing at my little pup.
"Sure," I replied, handing our baby to her.
"He’s so cute," she gushed, patting his cheek softly. "And he has the boss’s green eyes."
"I know, right?" I beamed at my sweet pup. "Even the hair." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"He also has your thick lashes," Felicia observed.
I chuckled. "That’s true."
"I really missed you, Luna," Felicia said, her tone more serious now. "Things were not the same without you."
"I feel so bad, Felicia," I murmured, avoiding her gaze. "I think Razor hates me."
"No, I don’t think he hates you," Felicia replied, her tone reassuring. "Maybe he’s disappointed, but I’m definitely sure he doesn’t hate you."
"I don’t know," I said, my voice breaking. "He might start seeing me as Tara."
"That’s far from the truth," Felicia insisted. "Since you’ve left, he has never badmouthed you to anyone, despite the circumstances."
"But I kept his child away from him," I sobbed, hiding my face from her.
Felicia sighed, pulling me into a hug. "It’s alright," she said softly, rubbing my back gently. "Everything will be fine, okay? We all missed you."
I pulled away from the hug, wiping my eyes softly. "I missed everyone too," I said, managing a weak smile. "You, Cross..." I paused, meeting Felicia’s gaze. "Where is Cross?"
Her smile suddenly faded into a sorrowful look, and I could sense the gravity of her words before she even spoke.
"Did anything happen to him?" I asked, my impatience growing.
"He... he was taken hostage by Beta Tom," Felicia explained sadly . "He’s the reason the boss vacated his position and left the pack."
"I don’t understand, since when?" I asked, my heart sinking.
"It’s been a year," Felicia replied. "In fact, it happened on the day you left. After the boss left the pack to go meet Damon, Beta Tom attacked the pack and took Cross hostage. He tortured the poor kid and warned the boss not to come near the pack or he’ll cut his body into pieces."
I felt a wave of guilt wash over me. "This is all my damn fault," I cried, tears streaming down my face. "I shouldn’t have left the penthouse without Razor."
"It’s not your fault, Luna," Felicia insisted.
"No, it is Felicia," I interjected bitterly. "Because of me, my parents were killed by that bastard Damon!"
"The boss killed Damon Rollins," Felicia explained calmly, "but I don’t think he’s responsible for your parents’ death."
"What?" My mouth gaped open, shocked by her revelation.
"It was Beta Tom who killed them," Felicia announced.
I jumped to my feet, disbelief and anger coursing through me. Beta Tom killed my parents and came all the way to Linkin Town to kill me? What’s going on?
