Chapter 49: The Pills.

**Isabella**

I paced around the room, phone in hand, waiting for Ian to call. Razor had left after breakfast, and he might come back at any given time now. Come on, Ian, pick up your phone. For the hundredth time, no reply. Frustrated, I slouched on my bed.

Did anything happen to him?

It was time for training, so I changed into comfortable clothes and left the room.

"Hey," Cross waved at me from the couch. He was watching some wrestling show or something.

"You’re in a good mood?" I raised a brow at the broad grin on his face. "Be careful because your brother is in a foul mood."

Cross sat up on the couch attentively. "Did anything happen?"

I sighed, walking past him to the door. "We were attacked yesterday by some werewolves and lost two of our men."

"Man, I didn’t know." He picked up the remote and switched the TV off. "I’ll follow you to the training ground. I need to at least hear the latest from Dean or Chris."

We arrived shortly at the training ground, but Chris and Dean were nowhere to be seen. I guess they were probably with Razor. Everyone seemed to be involved in one conversation or another, probably talking about the attack last night.

"What is that bitch doing here?" Cross hissed, glancing in Tara’s direction. She was chatting with some group of guys. "I bet she’s looking for someone to seduce."

I let out a chuckle. "You really hate her, don’t you?"

His fingers clenched. "I’d love nothing more than to rip out her heart from her chest, but my brother forbids it."

I sighed, nodding in agreement. "I kind of understand how you feel. She’s so annoying."

We both scrunched our foreheads when she placed her arms around one of the guy’s shoulders.

"And here I was thinking they had something going on," I mumbled, and Cross furrowed his brow.

"Who are you referring to?"

"Uhmm... I’m just bluffing." I waved it aside with an awkward chuckle before pointing at the front. "Look, my trainer is here. See you later, Cross." I said before going to meet my trainer.

I mentally slapped myself as I walked. I was this close to revealing Tara and Chris’s secret to Cross. If I ever did that, I just knew Tara would bring me down along with her.

After training, I began heading inside but stopped when a text message came in. I took the phone and glanced at the screen. It was Cain; he asked me to check under the bench I loved sitting on in the training ground.

My eyes scanned the surroundings carefully before striding to the bench. I sat down and started pressing my phone, purposely letting it slip from my hand. The contact with the ground wasn’t much. I bent down and acted like I actually wanted to pick up the phone, and then I saw a sachet of pills. I picked it up immediately and placed them inside my pocket before going inside the main building.

I arrived at the penthouse and saw Razor sitting on the couch while Chris and Dean stood in front of him. My heart began to pound heavily in my chest. Why did he have to fucking return at this time? I took a steadying breath before walking towards him. I mean, there’s no way he’ll search my pocket and see the pills.

"Hello, Razor," I bowed my head slightly, meeting his gaze for a moment before looking at the ceiling. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Go inside and wait for me," he ordered curtly, and I felt my stomach churn nervously. Did I do something wrong?

"Yes, sir," my voice shook slightly as I strided the room.

Immediately inside the room, I took out the pills and rushed into the closet. I grabbed one of my trench coats, a blue one, and before placing it inside the pocket, I took one tablet and swallowed it quickly. I couldn’t afford to place them inside my box; who knows, Razor might decide to search it.

Next, I took a shower and changed into another set of clothes, but Razor was still in the living room. Curious to hear what they were talking about, I tiptoed towards the door and pressed my ear against it.

Dean was talking about some Alpha Elin or Elon or something, but I couldn’t quite grasp what he was really saying. Razor suddenly dismissed them. Panicked, I literally fled towards the bed, facing the wall. That was so fucking close.

The door swung open, and I forced my eyes closed, feeling my body grow tense.

"Get up, Isabella. One!" His tone was cold as he started counting. "Two."

My heart literally flew out of my chest as I leapt to my feet, shaking my head nervously.

"Come here." He pointed at the floor, and my legs moved to obey immediately. "Remember what I said to you last night?"

I swallowed a lump in my throat. "Yes, sir."

"Good girl... Well, you have another chance today, my little wife." He narrowed his eyes dangerously at me. "Do you remember the couple that sat across from us last night? The guy with the brown hair and the girl with the ash blond hair?"

"No, I..." I trailed off at the cold look in his eyes. "Yes, yes, sir, I remember them."

"Do you know them?"

"What?"

"Make me repeat myself again and I’ll slap the living daylight out of you," he snapped, pointing at me.

I recoiled in fear, feeling unshed tears pricking my eyes. "No...sir...I don’t..."

He took a step closer."Are you certain, Isabella?" His fingers caressed my face gently, sending shivers down my spine. "You can tell me anything."

I considered telling him the truth, but I was too scared. He’ll kill me if I tell him all I’ve been planning with Ian.

"I’m certain, sir."

He nodded, his intense green eyes searching my face. "I hope you’re telling the truth because, little one, if I ever find out you know that bastard, I’ll teach you an agonizing lesson."

I choked on a sob, shaking my head. "Please, I don’t know them, sir, please..."

"Shhh," he used the back of his palm to wipe my tears. "It’s alright, baby. I won’t touch you, as long as you’re innocent."

He pulled me close and began stroking my hair gently. "That bastard was the one responsible for the attack yesterday." He paused, chuckling in amusement. "He wanted his men to kidnap and bring you to him."

My legs began to shake again.

"My men are onto him right now. I promise you, baby, I’ll catch him and make him pay. I’ll let you watch as I tear him apart limb by limb."

I shuddered at the coldness of his tone. Wherever you are, Ian, you’d better run!
