Alpha Razor King-Chapter 107: Letting Go.
**Cross**
"Cross, you’re out of your room," Isabella gasped, surprised. "Does your brother know about this?"
"Of course, he gave me permission to," I replied, walking up to her and carrying Nathan from where she sat on the couch. "He’s such a beautiful baby." I bounced him up and down on my body.
"That’s what everyone keeps saying," Isabella smiled from the couch. "I just hope he’s not going to end up like me."
"What do you mean by that?" My brow furrowed in confusion.
"I don’t want him to be wolfless like I am, Cross. I want him to have a wolf companion."
"I know he will, but if by chance he doesn’t, I don’t think my brother will bother about that anymore. I know how much he loves his son," I reassured her with a smile.
"He does, a lot," she agreed. "He’s been constantly doting on our little pup."
"Remind me, I know my brother has a very nasty temper. How did he react when you returned... I wanted to know," I asked Isabella.
She chuckled slightly before replying, "It wasn’t easy. He didn’t budge and wouldn’t forgive me."
"I knew it," I laughed.
"He was giving attention only to Nathan, constantly ignoring me," she continued, laughing. "It might be funny now, but it wasn’t back then."
"Oh, I know my brother alright. But I also know how much he loves you, Isabella."
"Except he has refused to say those words again to me, even though I’ve told him countless times," she sighed.
"He just needs a little time, he will eventually," I nodded.
"We were all so worried about you, Cross, but Razor... Razor was devastated. At some point, I heard he was lost... he really does adore you."
I smiled at her words. Of course, I knew that. My brother might be strict, but I knew he loved me. He was only trying to make sure he didn’t lose me like our parents.
"And do you know something Razor did that surprised me?" she continued. "He gave me the chance to leave if I wanted to, and he’d have his men stay with me for protection."
"Really?" I was surprised by that.
"Yes, he even said he’d let me take Nathan and asked me to think about it."
"And what did you say?"
"I told him I wanted to stay with him, of course," she rolled her eyes. "I don’t want to ever leave him again."
"The last I remembered, you kind of hated my brother," I gave her a look. "So what changed?"
"I don’t know, Cross. Maybe it’s because I actually lived apart from him for some time, but I missed him so much every day. I couldn’t even believe myself."
"Yeah, you’re weird," I chuckled.
"I am," she agreed. "Your brother is scary, Cross, very domineering and strict, but I kind of like it."
I shook my head in disbelief. "You know what? Some people are really crazy, and you’re one."
She burst out laughing. "You wouldn’t understand, okay? You’re still young."
"I don’t want to hear anymore," I joked before standing up with Nathan.
"Did you hear that Tara’s dad came here last night?" Isabella’s tone was serious now.
"No," I shook my head in surprise. "Why would that bastard come here? And what did my brother do to him?"
"He had him locked in the dungeon," Isabella explained. "He came to beg my husband to help him get his daughter from Tom."
"Wait a minute," I met her gaze, confused. "Tom has Tara? I thought they escaped."
"They were caught. Unfortunately for Tara, she was taken."
"I need to see him, Isabella," I told her impatiently.
She looked at me as though I had lost my mind. "Why is that?"
"I have some questions I want to ask him," I said as Isabella stood up.
"Forget it, Razor’s men won’t let you in there," she shrugged.
"But they will if you help me," I begged her, but her eyes widened in amusement.
"Are you trying to get me in trouble with my husband? He’ll kill me if I go there without his permission, not to talk of lying that he actually gave me permission to go there. That’s crazy."
"Come on, Isabella, he’ll never know," I pleaded again, but she maintained her answer.
"No, Cross. The last time I went there, he permitted me to. He’ll kill us both if we try it."
I sighed in defeat. "You’re probably right. But what did you go there to do?" I asked, caressing Nathan’s soft cheek.
"I went to see Lisa," she said with a raised brow before walking towards the window area.
I didn’t say anything, but I didn’t know why I was surprised she was kept in the dungeon.
"Razor ordered that she be left there," Isabella continued, as if reading my mind. "Although he didn’t have the mind to physically torture her because of you, Cross."
I formed an ’oh’ with my lips. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Yes, at some point she became tired and dehydrated, she pleaded to be let out after two nights."
I felt a tug of pain in my heart, but I pushed it aside. She wasn’t the only one suffering, I muttered under my breath. "How did she get out?"
"I pleaded with Razor. It wasn’t easy," she told me matter-of-factly. "But he granted her mercy. It was really because of you, Cross."
"Yeah, I don’t care anymore," I said sharply, trying to keep my expression bland. "Here, take him." I walked up to her and handed Nathan back to her. "I need to catch some fresh air. I’ll be back later."
"Alright, Cross," Isabella nodded, glancing at Nathan. "You look hungry, baby. Let’s go get you some food," she said to Nathan as I walked out of the living room.
The afternoon air greeted me outside, and it felt good to experience the sun’s rays after a long time of being locked up in a dark dungeon. I took deep breaths and headed for the garden, but my smile quickly faltered into a frown when I saw Lisa.
I turned back, but she called my name.
"Has it really gotten to this point?" There was hurt in her voice as she spoke.
Fuck! I shouldn’t have come outside. Slowly, I turned back and strode over to where she was standing.
"Thank you," she nodded.
"For what?" I asked coldly, not meeting her gaze.
"For staying here with me," she muttered shyly, looking elsewhere. "I’m glad you’re able to come outside again."
"Me too."
"So, how’s your body right now?"
"Fine."
"Okay," she raked her fingers through her hair as she nodded. "The weather is so nice."
"It is."
"Can you stop doing that, Cross?" She crossed her arms, suddenly meeting my gaze.
"Doing what?" I continued stubbornly.
"This," she pointed out sharply. "I know you’re mad at me, but you keep giving me these two-word replies."
"Well, it’s because I have nothing to say to you, really," I shrugged with a smirk.
"I’ve pleaded and tried to make you understand why I did it, but you’ve refused to hear me out. Why?" Her voice rose with her emotions, but I continued keeping a straight face.
"It still doesn’t matter. You betrayed and lied to me."
"And I regret it so badly," she cried out angrily, catching me off guard. "Please look at me." She pleaded, waiting until I managed to meet her gaze. "I regret it every day, Cross. I shouldn’t have completely trusted Damon."
I scoffed sarcastically. "Does it matter? You would have given me to your brother to torture."
"That’s not true," she defended desperately. "I wouldn’t have done it. I mean, I thought I would have been able to," she cried through chuckles. "But I wouldn’t have, because I love you."
"What did you just say?" I whispered, lost for words at her confession.
"I said that I love you," she repeated again, holding my face lightly. "And I’m so fucking sad that I broke your heart."
"Suddenly, everything became blurry. I didn’t realize when I had started tearing up.
"I... I... lo," I struggled to say the words back. I really wanted to, but they felt too heavy.
"It’s alright," she smiled knowingly. "I understand everything."
"Kira," I muttered, pulling her closer to me. "I... missed you so much, but I just..."
"Shhh," she placed a finger on my lips before kissing me softly and then leaning back. "I know how you feel, I know you need your space and time, and I’ll help you."
"I don’t understand," I creased my brows, confused.
"I’ll tell Alpha Razor when he comes back that I want to leave here," she began through tears. "I’m grateful for him and Isabella for saving me, but I think I might have overstayed my welcome."
"Kira..." I called desperately, but she cut me off.
"This is the only way for both of us to heal, especially you. I’m sorry for being so selfish and not realizing it earlier. I... have... to go inside right now," she couldn’t get through her words as she began crying again.
I watched helplessly as she ran inside the mansion. I was confused, unable to fathom everything that had just gone down. Am I really ready to let go of her?"
