Akame ga Kill: Starting with Dual Kamui-Chapter 100: Like an Old Married Couple
Chapter 100 - 100: Like an Old Married Couple
To be honest, Chelsea was just using this opportunity to gauge Mine's true feelings toward Blayn.
Now, she had her answer.
After the brief commotion, Mine left Blayn's room. It wasn't until then that she noticed Lubbock, Leone, and Sheele lingering outside the door, clearly eavesdropping and peeking in.
They hadn't exactly been subtle, but Mine had been too distracted to notice earlier.
"You guys..."
She suddenly realized that Leone and the others had seen everything that just happened.
It wasn't a big deal, but for some reason, it felt a little awkward...
"Come on, let's go wake up Akame and Kurome. It's been so long since they reunited, so they probably stayed up talking late into the night."
Acting as if nothing had happened, Leone turned and headed toward Akame's room.
Since Akame never locked her door, Leone and the others walked in without hesitation.
Inside, Akame and Kurome were still fast asleep, curled up together.

Both sisters looked completely at peace, faint smiles lingering on their faces as they slept.
Seeing how close and comfortable they were, Leone and the others hesitated, wondering if they should just let them sleep a little longer. But before they could decide, Akame slowly opened her eyes.
"Sorry, looks like I overslept."
She rubbed her eyes groggily, and upon seeing Mine, Leone, and the others standing by the bed, she immediately understood the situation.
"I was thinking we shouldn't wake you, but it looks like you're already up," Leone said with a smile.
As their voices filled the room, Kurome stirred and slowly opened her eyes.
"Good morning, sister."
Her soft voice was so gentle that anyone who didn't know her would never believe she was a ruthless assassin.
"Morning, Kurome."
Akame smiled and gently pressed her forehead against Kurome's.
Watching this exchange, Mine and the others found it hard to believe that, during their final battle against Prime Minister Honest, Kurome had truly intended to kill Akame.
...
Meanwhile, Blayn and Chelsea were washing up in the bathroom.
This world had basic toiletries, including a vanity mirror and other essentials.
As Blayn was brushing his teeth, Chelsea suddenly reached out her hand.
"?"
Blayn glanced at her in confusion, and Chelsea gestured with her eyes toward the cup.
Since there was only one cup and she couldn't be bothered to go back to her own room, she simply decided to share it with Blayn.
Blayn looked at the cup in his hand, already in use, and asked, "I've already used this. You sure you still want it?"
"What else? Don't tell me you're embarrassed just because we're sharing a cup?"
Chelsea took the opportunity to tease him.
"...Alright then."
Blayn said nothing more and simply handed the cup over.
At this point, he felt like he was becoming desensitized to things like this. If it happened again, he figured he'd just hand the cup to Chelsea without a second thought.
Chelsea, however, didn't push her luck and simply washed up as usual.
The two of them shared the sink and the cup in a calm and natural manner—almost like an old married couple.
...
Although Akame woke up a little late, it was still within breakfast time.
She and Kurome prepared breakfast together for everyone.
Of course, while cooking, the two had already snuck quite a few bites.
Still, the final meal was more than enough, as what they had eaten could barely count as an appetizer.
Even for breakfast, Akame and Kurome had filled their own plates with meat.
Meanwhile, the portions for everyone else were much more balanced.
"Commander, I made this for you."
Kurome personally handed a plate of food to Blayn.
"Thanks."
Blayn accepted it without hesitation.
Chelsea ate her breakfast as usual, not openly glancing at Kurome but keeping an eye on her from the corner of her vision.
Kurome was an obvious potential rival—and compared to Mine, she was much more straightforward.
In Chelsea's eyes, Kurome posed the greatest threat.
...
After finishing breakfast and resting for a bit, Blayn said, "Alright, Kurome and I should be heading back."
"Thanks again for yesterday. If not for you two, it would've been much harder to complete both missions at once," Najenda said. "If you ever need our help, just let us know."
"Got it."
Blayn nodded slightly.
Then, he and Kurome mounted a flying Danger Beast and set off for their base.
As they took off, Kurome did something different from usual. Instead of holding onto Blayn's clothes with one hand, she simply sat directly on his lap.
"Commander, hold me," Kurome said matter-of-factly. "That way, I can use both hands to eat my cookies."
It actually made sense.
If Blayn held her from behind, she wouldn't need to use one hand to keep steady.
"Alright."
Blayn, unfazed by Kurome's insistence, wrapped an arm around her waist. "This should be fine."
"Not enough. I want you to hold me with both hands, or I won't feel secure."
Kurome pushed her request even further.
Blayn sighed but complied, wrapping both arms around her. Satisfied, Kurome sat comfortably on his lap, happily munching on her cookies.
...
When they arrived at the Seiga Cavern, the workers were still busy expanding the base.
As for food and lodging, Blayn had taken care of that from the start.
He had specifically hired a professional cook, ensuring that the workers had plenty to eat. Sleeping arrangements were simpler—they had to make do with tents. But even those were provided along with temporary furniture.
The conditions weren't perfect, but Blayn had already paid the workers half their wages, with the rest to be settled upon completion.
With that much money promised, the workers were highly motivated.
Besides, they were used to hardship. Sleeping in tents was nothing to them—especially with the extra furniture Blayn had provided. Even if they had to sleep directly on the ground, they'd consider it worth it for the pay.
"Master, where did you two go yesterday?"
Seeing Blayn and Kurome return, Seryu immediately asked.
"We went to Night Raid's base," Blayn answered truthfully.
"Night Raid? Aren't they rebels?"
"Well, if you think about it, in the Empire's eyes, Akatsuki is also considered a rebel. But that's not the point," Blayn explained. "The point is, for now, our goals align with Night Raid's."
He continued, "We can work together when needed. They don't see us as enemies. The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
"I see... That makes sense," Seryu nodded thoughtfully, quickly accepting his reasoning.
Blayn considered something for a moment. If Seryu got to know Akame and the others, it might help change her perspective.
"Next time, I'll introduce you to them."
