Chapter 474: Chapter 183 All Gods Block the Way_2

"Then let’s proceed to lift the seal of the God of Omniscience," Xi Mu shook his head and addressed the Witch of Death, "I will take care of the God of Omniscience as quickly as possible, and then overlay the existing rules with new ones."

The atmosphere suddenly became subtle.

With Ahtal now being the King of Ash, there was hope to defeat the God of Omniscience, but it also raised a question: Whose rules would cover the old world, and who would gain authority over this world?

In this world, many qualified to overwrite former rules also longed to overlay their will onto this world.

The origin of everyone’s power stems from... desires; this desire, developed to the end, is to see the world reshaped according to their own vision.

Of course, not everyone’s desires involve modifying this world itself. An extraterritorial demon is not interested in the dominion over this world—its sole desire is to break free from all restraints and eliminate any interference.

Obviously, such a being does not need to gain authority over this world.

But for most people, obtaining world dominance is the final step in fulfilling their wishes, whether it’s a world without lies or a world where everyone is equal—they all need to seize control over this world.

"Discussing who will cover the old world rules is not important right now," Eden lifted her hand to touch the hair by her ear gracefully, her beautiful eyes landing on Ahtal, "What is most important now is that we must defeat the God of Omniscience before Ahtal’s humanity is completely burnt out."

The atmosphere relaxed slightly.

The question of who would gain world dominance was put aside for the moment. The relationships among those present weren’t very close or united—although they appeared connected, it was all reliant on Ahtal’s existence.

This didn’t mean that the conflicts were so sharp as to be irreconcilable. If they could form a partnership, then they could share the authority over the world.

But that was only feasible for a pair of individuals.

And reaching their stature, with clear pursuits of their own, it was impossible to follow in someone else’s footsteps. With their affections not at the level of partners, even if they could catch up to one another, it would be unlikely for them to agree to become each other’s partner.

Unless it was someone like Ahtal, who got along well with everyone and indeed could become a candidate for partnership.

"That does make sense," the Goddess of Lies muttered softly. She too wanted to seize control over the world, although the chances were not great at the moment. Thankfully, her core goal was to save the world, to prevent it from burning down to ashes.

Naturally, if Ahtal would agree to become her partner, then the situation might be different, and there might actually be hope to take control over the world.

But Ahtal was not very interested in her.

"If we want to defeat the God of Omniscience before Ahtal’s humanity burns out," Eden whispered, "burning the Tree of Omniscience is an essential step."

She explained to Ahtal.

"If the Tree of Omniscience remains, you cannot hope to defeat the God of Omniscience before losing your humanity, and if you do defeat the God of Omniscience after losing your humanity, you won’t give them the chance to overlay the old rules; you’ll burn the world down to ashes yourself."

Xi Mu remained silent, offering no response.

If he fought the God of Omniscience without burning the Tree of Omniscience, it would indeed drag him into a protracted battle, delaying his time to burn down the world.

With the Tree of Omniscience empowering the God of Omniscience, and at the same height as Ragnarok, both sides would fall into a state of mutually nullifying each other’s powers until the world began to collapse, causing the God of Omniscience’s power to wane.

Only then could the players grind down the God of Omniscience.

This was why he didn’t immediately set out to kill everybody but planned to burn the Tree of Omniscience first.

"Understood," he showed a helpless smile, "I will burn down the Tree of Omniscience myself and kill the God of Omniscience in the shortest time."

Eden nodded slightly and reached out her hand to Ahtal; as he took it, they both disappeared without a trace.

No one interfered.

Apart from Ahtal’s own resistance to burning the tree, no one present objected to burning the Tree of Omniscience, partly because they were not very familiar with Eden and also because it was a necessary condition to defeat the God of Omniscience.

Everyone present could not afford to delay, hoping to defeat the God of Omniscience before Ahtal’s humanity was burned away.

Burning the Tree of Omniscience was the best choice.

The reason Ahtal, who was most resistant to the idea of burning the tree, might have agreed to it was probably because he realized his own humanity...could not be maintained for much longer.

If you do not want to burn down the world after losing your humanity, the only right choice is to have nothing after losing your humanity.

Or to choose to sacrifice Eden.

"Why is there still a sense of inevitability to fate?" the extraterritorial demon said, hands covering his forehead, not in a good mood.

This feeling that every step looks entirely correct, as if there are no problems, yet it still guides the situation towards the worst outcome, was hard to ignore.

It was difficult not to suspect that this was the gravitational pull of fate toward Ragnarok.

"Do you have a better choice?" the Goddess of Death coldly retorted, "Extraterritorial demon, can you come up with a better method?"

The extraterritorial demon immediately answered, "No."

The world will face Ragnarok because of the existence of the God of Omniscience. To avoid the impending Ragnarok, the God of Omniscience must be killed, and to kill the God of Omniscience the Tree of Omniscience must be burned down.

But if after burning the Tree of Omniscience, Ahtal’s humanity is not enough to overcome the God of Omniscience, the worst outcome will be welcomed.

However, not burning the tree is also not an option, as delaying will result in Ahtal burning down the world once his humanity is exhausted.

Therefore, the only choice now is to trust that Ahtal’s humanity can endure until he defeats the God of Omniscience.

...

...

Under the Tree of Omniscience.

The moment Xi Mu stepped forward, a thunderbolt split the sky, but before it could touch his forehead, the Ash Fire consumed it with greater speed, forming a beautiful fire dragon in the sky.

"Why are there so many gods stationed here?" he looked up at the All Gods on the Tree of Omniscience, his voice tinged with surprise:

"Are you planning to stop me?"

"No, we’re here to kill you." God of Destruction with three arms jumped down from the tree, his third eye on the forehead slowly opened, "Ahtal, you cannot continue to live in this world."

"...The Tree of Omniscience cannot be burned down." God of Wealth and Contract spoke from the tree, emitting a tired sigh, "If you really burn down the Tree of Omniscience, the God of Omniscience will have no strength left to resist Ragnarok." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Ahtal, your fate is being driven by Ragnarok." A man clad in silver armor, looking dignified, spoke slowly, "Burning the tree will only hasten the arrival of Ragnarok, only the coming of the God of Omniscience can save the world."

God of Order.

Xi Mu glanced at the god in the silver armor, immediately recognizing his identity, and resolved to eliminate him first; how dare he wear an armor as stylish as his, overlapping with his style, it was practically inviting death.

"All-Knowing Saintess, only the God of Omniscience can bring the world you wish for." A goddess dressed in trendy clothes, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and hot pants, explained single-handedly propping on her hip to the All-Knowing Saintess, "If you have any dissatisfaction, you can speak to the God of Omniscience, following the fate led by Ragnarok will only burn this world into ashes."

"Leave, Goddess of Darkness." Eden looked seriously at the trendy, hot pants-wearing Goddess of Darkness, "It is absolutely impossible for you to defeat Ahtal, even with the power of all the gods combined."

"It’s not about whether we can defeat Ahtal or not." The Goddess of Darkness shook her head gently, her figure instantly disappearing from the spot.

She appeared right in front of Ahtal.

"We must stand before Ahtal, to protect this world."
