After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 462 - 178: Spear of Destiny
On the street.
Many dwarves bustled back and forth, all casting their gazes toward an unusual duo: a knight clad in silver armor grasping the nape of a cute-looking loli with one hand, as he headed toward a distant blacksmith shop.
The dwarf loli, expressionless, felt the astonished stares from around and asked in a tone of resignation,
"This is so embarrassing, can you put me down?"
"..."
Xi Mu lifted the dwarf loli higher to meet his gaze, "Isn’t it nice not having to walk by yourself?"
"..." The dwarf loli swung her short legs, her face still devoid of expression as she looked at the man with a twisted pleasure, "It’s impossible for me to escape under a demon’s watch; you don’t need to keep carrying me."
"Since you say so." Xi Mu suddenly stopped, stood in front of the blacksmith’s shop, and placed the dwarf loli at the doorway.
"Don’t run off unless you want to be carried again." With that, he walked into the blacksmith shop.
The dwarf loli hesitated upon hearing this, suppressing the impulse to run. She knew she likely couldn’t escape under a demon’s watch.
"Annoying guy." She muttered softly, kicking the doorframe with her tiny foot, venting the dissatisfaction deep in her heart.
She had always despised Ahtal, even wanted to kill him personally. However, after Ahtal became a demon, she had given up on this impractical idea. Minds and plots hardly mattered at that level of existence anymore.
...
...
Inside the blacksmith shop.
After looking around, Xi Mu’s gaze settled on a master dwarf who was standing by a forging table, covering his bleeding belly with one hand, breathing heavily as if he might die at any moment.
He approached and knelt beside the master dwarf.
"Master, is my weapon ready?"
"Can you save me first?" The master dwarf strained to lift his head, his forehead covered in sweat, his voice extremely weak.
"Who hurt you?" Xi Mu extended his finger and touched the master dwarf’s forehead, a green light spread from his touch, and with the power of Healing Prayer, he healed the master dwarf instantly.
In fact, in his current state, he could easily heal others without using the Prayer of Life as long as he designed the right game rules that would allow anyone within those rules to enter a space similar to a fountain of resurrection, an area that would heal all statuses unconditionally.
However, he found designing such game rules too bothersome and preferred to use the power of the Prayer of Life for convenience.
"Now, you are no different from a deity." The master dwarf removed his hand from his belly, feeling completely restored.
He got up and lifted the long spear from the forging table.
"This is the spear of destiny you requested."
"..."
Xi Mu grasped the spear handed to him and then turned to leave immediately.
The master dwarf, seeing this, did not try to stop him, watched Ahtal’s fading silhouette, and showed a relieved expression, then heard the parting words from Ahtal.
"If I were you, I would flee the underworld." Xi Mu glanced sideways at the master dwarf as he spoke, "Run, though this world no longer has any safe havens."
"..." The master dwarf paused, then nodded and quickly started packing his belongings to flee to the surface world.
While he didn’t understand why Ahtal asked him to flee, he was clear that Ahtal... didn’t speak without reason. Since he was advised to flee, it must be because a disaster was looming in the underworld.
It might be a battle between All Gods and demons, or possibly related to the recent doomsday prophecy fervently proclaimed by the followers of the Dusk Cult.
Either way, the underworld was no longer a safe place to stay.
Meanwhile.
In a district a kilometer away from the forge.
"Ahtal has obtained the spear of destiny." A voluptuous nun closed the window; they had tried to seize the spear of destiny, but after discovering it was bound with usage restrictions—to the point that it could not be used even if stolen—and considering Ahtal’s formidable track record,
they decided to return the spear, letting the master dwarf deliver it back to Ahtal, though nearly killing the master dwarf in the process.
"But what did Ahtal mean by that?" A puzzled female voice emerged from the shadows in the room, "What is he planning to do in Hell?"
"It’s enough that the message was conveyed to the gods." The nun turned her head, speaking to her colleague, "The movements of such a big player are not for us to guess." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Hmm." The shadowy figure softly responded, beginning to relay information to her divine patron through prayers. This very act informed the All Gods of Ahtal’s journey to the underworld, leading them to suspect that Ahtal’s purpose was to unseal the Flame Giant Surter.
...
...
At the Sealing Grounds.
"Ahtal is coming?" On the thick metal doors, the face of the God of Doors and Windows appeared, inquiring to the Goddess of Daylight and Goddess of Night sitting by the door, "Is that man planning to unseal the Flame Giant Surter?"
"He is also trying to save the world." The Goddess of Daylight lightly brushed back her hair, "But his power is not enough to stand before the Flame Giant Surter."
"Whether he’s saving or not isn’t important, he might just kill us casually." The Goddess of Night rolled her eyes, "Let the high heavens send down more deities to stop Ahtal."
"Don’t worry." The God of Doors and Windows reassured the two goddesses, "Even Ahtal can’t break through our doors and windows. Do you want to hide behind the door? It might be safer."
