After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 448 - 171 The Battle of Gods and Demons_2
Meanwhile,
In another place,
"Why choose to act at this time?" the Color Witch sighed lightly but still dipped her brush in the palette and drew a portal in the sky, leading the witches and demons behind her to invade the high heavens.
If it were just a matter of accumulating power, they were still far from matching All Gods. Going to war at this time was not a wise decision.
"High heavens, this is my first time arriving at this world," the Negation Demon looked at the scenery of the high heavens with a melancholic sigh, "Is this battle the fuse that ignites Ragnarok?"
"Who knows about such things," the Witch of the Moon spoke in a cold voice, putting down the book in her hand, "Perhaps after this battle, Ragnarok could be postponed."
"Has Ragnarok ever been postponed?" The Corpse Witch chuckled lightly, looking at the incoming army of All Gods, and lightly brushed her blue hair behind her ear, "It seems even the divine are just soldiers, hardly equals among the gods."
"This also shows that their society isn’t too loosely organized," the Negation Demon shook his head, his single eye reflecting the approaching gods, and prepared to snap his fingers, "The negation of a negation."
As he spoke, the moment his fingers snapped, ripples surged forth like waves, rushing towards All Gods.
"Boom!" A flash of sword light split the approaching ripples.
The Goddess of the Sword stepped forward first, her gaze fixed on the few witches and demons that appeared before her, and she let out a slight sigh of relief within, the situation still within manageable bounds.
The enemy was neither the Witch of Death nor the Creation Witch, so there was no need to worry. Victory still belonged to All Gods.
However,
"Your power is quite interesting," a cold female voice suddenly sounded from beside her, and the Goddess of the Sword trembled, turning stiffly to see the Creation Witch who had appeared beside her, instantly feeling unable to breathe.
She must escape quickly.
Even as she thought this, the Goddess of the Sword found she couldn’t move her body, as the Creation Witch had already raised her hand, gently touching her cheek.
Consciousness became groggy.
"Let’s go to the realm of omniscience," the Creation Witch withdrew her hand and spoke softly to her companions, "There shall we find the secrets of omniscience."
"She’s absurdly powerful," the Corpse Witch twisted her mouth, looking at the gods who had turned into grotesque lumps of flesh, feeling a chilling sensation—it would have been less horrifying to be slain by the Witch of Death, at least that would have been quick.
Only the Goddess of the Sword was fortunate enough not to have turned into a grotesque lump of flesh, but her consciousness had already become unclear.
Without accident, she’d become a puppet controlled by the strings of the Creation Witch. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"What have you done to the Three Goddesses of Fate?" a familiar voice came through, as the void was suddenly torn open, and the Goddess of Death stepped out, questioning the Creation Witch, "Why can we no longer contact them?"
As she asked, she looked around warily to prevent a sudden stealth attack by an extraterritorial demon. The last time she was defeated by the Witch of Death was because of an extraterritorial demon’s surprise attack, resulting in her injury by the Witch of Death.
Therefore, she was very cautious of the hidden extraterritorial demon. That being possessed the ability to exist independently outside of the world, able to isolate all searching and targeting. Except for a brief moment of appearance, there was absolutely no way to detect the presence of an extraterritorial demon.
Such a tricky individual was manageable under normal circumstances, but in battle with strong foes, they were extremely difficult to deal with, easy to be backstabbed by an extraterritorial demon suddenly.
"The Three Goddesses of Fate?" The Creation Witch pretended to think, a cold smile appearing on her beautiful face, "They make for quite interesting toys."
The Goddess of Death’s expression grew cold.
"Goddess of Death, do you need my help?" The Goddess of Lies emerged from nowhere, coming to the Goddess of Death’s side, "Although I can’t help you defeat the Creation Witch, I can protect you from a surprise attack by the extraterritorial demon."
"Hmm," the Goddess of Death nodded lightly. With the Goddess of Lies at her side to fend off the extraterritorial demon, she could focus on dealing with the Creation Witch.
"Pfft!" A delicate hand suddenly pierced through her chest. The Goddess of Death looked down at the hand through her heart and turned to glance at the smiling Goddess of Lies, immediately realizing the Goddess of Lies was a traitor.
"Please take a good rest," the Goddess of Lies said apologetically, withdrawing her hand through the chest, and the Creation Witch seized the opportunity to act.
She extended her hands, cupping the cheeks of the Goddess of Death, her lips moving slightly as she recited the curse of sealing.
"Go to the boundary between life and death, only on the day when life and death lose their balance, may you grab the reins of return." With those words, the Goddess of Death was pulled by the curse into the boundary between life and death, to a place of sealing akin to hers.
The seal is unlikely to last long, the Goddess of Death will be able to return to the high heavens in just a few days, but this is enough time for them to act.
"Now I really can’t turn back," the Goddess of Lies sighed. To ensure the success of this operation, she had ambushed the Goddess of Death, knowing that once the Goddess of Death returned, she would certainly make the Goddess of Lies her first target for elimination.
"There was no going back for you the moment you attempted to slay the God of Omniscience," the Creation Witch said as she walked past the Goddess of Lies, "Either we seize control of this world, or we burn to ashes with Ragnarok."
"...Regret is futile, isn’t it," the Goddess of Lies said with a faint smile, turning to follow the Creation Witch’s steps.
She indeed had no way out, with less than a year left before Ragnarok would descend; if they didn’t find a way to kill the God of Omniscience quickly and overlay the old rules with new ones, the world would only end up burning into ashes.
The once tranquil high heavens were instantly filled with fear and the flames of war.
...
...
The realm of omniscience.
Xi Mu appeared out of nowhere, plummeting rapidly toward the city suspended in the sky below, the howling wind brushing against his face; the overall shape of the city gave one a sense of a gossamer serpent, its head and tail connected to each other.
At the center of the city stood two golden and silver towers leaning on each other.
The design of these towers was very similar to the golden and silver towers at the bottom of Hell; the only difference was probably that their tips were joined together.
"Bang!" His feet hit the ground, shattering the marble-like floor, spreading like a spider’s web; the nearby fountain also collapsed at that moment, its flowing water soaking the ground.
Xi Mu took out the Great Sword of Death, ran his palm along the blade’s edge, and black flames enveloped the sword. Then he pointed it at the Goddess not far away.
"The Goddess of Wisdom?"
"Demon, why have you come here?" asked the Goddess of Wisdom in a calm voice, adorn in a white robe with purple hair flowing down her back.
"Not sure," Xi Mu replied immediately, looking at the surprised expression of the Goddess of Wisdom, "If you want to know the answer, you should ask the Witch of Death yourself."
The Goddess of Wisdom gently nodded, her purple eyes reflecting the image of Ahtal as she asked, "Demon, do you plan to enter the abode of the God of Omniscience?"
She turned her head to look towards the Twin Towers.
"At the intersection of those high towers lies the God of Omniscience’s dwelling; all gods go through the Twin Towers to visit the God of Omniscience."
Xi Mu feigned confusion, "Aren’t you going to be my enemy?"
"No one is allowed to resort to violence in this place," the Goddess of Wisdom gently shook her head, just before Ahtal unsparingly struck down at her with his sword.
However, that sword strike capable of slaying divinities passed right through her neck without inflicting any harm.
The rules established by the God of Omniscience forbade anyone from harming or disputing with others.
"Indeed, it doesn’t work," Xi Mu seemed somewhat disappointed, while the Goddess of Wisdom silently touched her fair neck. Although she knew that Ahtal couldn’t break the rules set by the God of Omniscience, the feeling of the sword scraping past her neck still conveyed a sense of danger.
"You really are rude, demon," she said softly, "this is our first encounter, we’ve never had any conflicts, so why would you want to kill me?"
Xi Mu responded promptly, "Because you are a deity."
"So you’d kill for being a deity?" the Goddess of Wisdom asked after seeing Ahtal nod, then added another question.
"What about the Goddess of Life, would you kill her without hesitation?"
Xu Mi naturally waved off the comparison, "That’s different."
"But there’s something similar, isn’t there?" the Goddess of Wisdom said gently, shaking her head, understanding the logic of this demon—more than any so-called alignment or status, what mattered to him was closeness to himself.
This understanding wasn’t much different from what she had gathered, the ... Hero as perceived by people, was essentially just an entity that favored those close to him.
And not the righteous hero people used to believe in.
