After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 403 - 150: Ascending the Throne of Omniscience
A gentle breeze brushed by.
Xi Mu looked up at the Tree of Omniscience that shrouded the sky, standing upon its mountainous, undulating roots as if bathed in the splendor of broken gold, the light casting a divine aura upon his silver armor.
"Is this what you truly desire deep in your heart?" He withdrew his gaze, fixing it upon Adam, who was markedly transformed.
"You wish to ascend to godhood?"
"No, I just want to go home for a bit," replied Adam, wearing a white robe embroidered with golden edges. He spread his arms slightly and began to rise into the air.
"Have you forgotten where I grew up?"
Initially, he grew under the Tree of Omniscience, which held the memories from before his adulthood, including the saintly lady with a mother’s patience and gentleness, the playful and tender Eve, and the ever-blessing Tree of Omniscience.
Thus, after being banished from the Tree of Omniscience and awakening his abilities, he could mirror the tree’s image in his memory, giving him a sensation of returning home.
Although it was merely a reflection of the Tree of Omniscience from his memories, it magically possessed similar powers and seemed a mirror image of the actual Tree of Omniscience in his mind.
Which could connect directly to the real Tree of Omniscience.
"That’s truly a shame," Xi Mu’s flames engulfing his body transformed, shifting from the Flames of a Thousand Deaths to the Ash Fire, and with it, his aura underwent a vast change.
It became eerily similar to the source of terror.
"I happen to have a power specifically against the Tree of Omniscience." He crouched down, gently caressing the trunk of the tree. At a single thought, the overflowing Ash Fire could incinerate the reflected image of the Tree of Omniscience.
This could declare the end of the battle.
However, Adam still had a third combat state, which could yield more experience points and lay the groundwork for subsequent transformations.
"Never mind, I can win even without burning down the Tree of Omniscience," Xi Mu exhaled, retracting his hand from the tree.
And the flames covering his body reverted to the Flames of a Thousand Deaths.
"If you can manage that," Adam smiled briefly, then his body vanished from the spot, appearing beside Ahtal like an illusion, thrusting his knight’s sword fiercely toward Ahtal’s eye socket.
"Clang!" Sparks flew where the blades met, illuminating both Ahtal’s and Adam’s cheeks as their eyes locked. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
The two then truly engaged in fierce combat, with their Divine Artifacts constantly clashing, sending forth sparks that whined mournfully through the air, the resulting shockwaves shattering the roots of the Tree of Omniscience.
Strength had been significantly... enhanced.
Xi Mu made such an assessment as each of Adam’s blows exceeded his own in power, capable of overwhelming him.
But in the endgame, sheer power could not decide the outcome; he could mitigate each impact with the "Force of Death."
If one had to describe it, it would be proportionally bestowing death upon the enemy’s power, thereby reducing their strength to a manageable level.
Such was the power derived from the Witch of Death.
It was not only capable of causing severe damage but also provided significant damage mitigation for the player. As long as the Flames of a Thousand Deaths enveloped him, they could offer formidable defense.
"Boom!" Another collision in their fight sent a fiery blaze bursting into the sky; Adam and Xi Mu both were sent flying back, hovering mid-air.
"The tree, it won’t interfere with you?" Adam flicked his knight’s sword, casting a puzzled look at Ahtal. After unleashing his kingdom within, he not only received a power boost from the Tree of Omniscience but also acquired a "limited" omniscient perspective, understanding everything naturally within the range of the Tree of Omniscience reflection.
Under that premise, he could effortlessly secure the condition for certain victory through the tree’s reflected image.
Yet the reality of battle was different; in the past, a few exchanges would have sufficed to foreknow victory through the reflection’s power.
It was utterly ineffective.
"She doesn’t only care about you," Xi Mu replied with a smile, leaving Adam with a complicated expression, wondering why the words felt so strangely familiar.
"Try defeating me with your own strength," Xi Mu charged forward, slashing with the Great Sword of Death, and a swath of inky black flames blanketed the sky.

Meanwhile.
Magic Kingdom.
Hecate set the book in her hands down on the table and calmly walked out of the great library. With each step, invisible ripples spread, combating the forces converging from all directions.
It was a battle in the realm of fate.
If one could observe from the perspective of destiny, they would see the future changing each second, yet the overarching trend was clearly discernible.
It pointed unceasingly to Hecate’s demise.
Fate was strangling Hecate, with past, present, and future forces simultaneously exerting their influence, inverting cause and effect to lock in her fateful end.
Pushing open the doors.
A cold wind rushed into the library, fluttering the magical robes worn by Hecate. She gazed at the three goddesses who appeared on the other side.
Their representations of past, present, and future, with a little girl, a young maiden, and a mature woman respectively. Their hair color was uniformly white, progressing in length from short to long, and their busts grew from small to large, as if symbolizing different stages of life.
"Do you think you can kill me?" Hecate inquired. At the moment, she wasn’t concerned about the Three Goddesses of Fate taking action. Until her fate was locked into certain death, the goddesses representing fate wouldn’t make a move.
It would be largely pointless.
