After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 358 - 130: The Untriggerable Return from Death
"Please drink, this is fresh human blood," the doll girl bowed, placing a cup of steaming red tea on the table, and then, holding the tea tray, observed the girl sitting on the sofa. She wore a dress like petals, her gold hair tied into a ponytail, and her temperament conveyed an unfathomable sense of mystery. Yet upon closer inspection, one could detect her forced composure over underlying tension.
The way she was obviously so nervous, yet struggling to restrain herself, truly made one want to bully her, just to see her cry.
However, it was only a thought in her mind, as this Saintess of Destiny was a friend of Ahtal, and she, a mere nobody, dared not offend her.
"Thank you," Suna lowered her head to examine the teacup, calmly picked it up, and gracefully sipped the tea. She was trying to maintain the composure befitting a saintess, to keep her inner turmoil hidden.
She found herself in a den of monsters, and Ahtal had suddenly left on urgent business, leaving her alone in the living room to wait.
"Miss Suna, coming to see Lord Ahtar at this time," the doll girl bent down, inquiring closely, "will really put Lord Ahtar in a difficult position. Haven’t you considered this at all?"
"I will steer destiny towards the correct outcome," Suna set down her teacup, revealing a mysterious smile. She possessed the ability to return from death, so if she caused any trouble for Ahtal, she could always find a way to mend the situation.
Regarding this, the doll girl took a deep look at the Saintess of Destiny before her, keenly sensing the confidence in the saintess’s heart, believing she wouldn’t impact Ahtal and certain she could influence destiny’s trajectory.
"Truly worthy of being the Saintess of Destiny," she put away her teasing demeanor, smiled respectfully, and said, "then I won’t interrupt your casual chat with Ahtal."
With that, she turned and left, brushing past Ahtal who happened to walk in.
"You’re finally back," Suna looked at Ahtal entering, her previously dignified demeanor collapsing as she couldn’t help but complain:
"Dealing with that woman is unbearably tense."
"The doll has a pretty good character," Xi Mu smiled, sitting opposite Suna to explain, "it’s not as dangerous as the rumors suggest."
"If she is not dangerous, then no one is," Suna rolled her eyes slightly. She was well aware of the rumors about the doll girl— a genuine cultist, recently the cause behind Kadilon’s downfall.
The provocations from the Black Rose Kingdom against the Goddess of Death, leading heroes to slaughter each other, all spoke of the doll girl’s horrific presence.
"If you knew it was dangerous, you shouldn’t have recklessly come to see me," Xi Mu shook his head, "in a dangerous place like the Church of Death, even I can’t guarantee your safety."
"It’s because it’s very dangerous, that’s why I am the most suited person to come see you," Suna smiled, took out a letter, and pushed it across the table towards Ahtal.
"This is a letter from the Grandmother Pope for you."
"..."
Xi Mu opened the envelope, extracted the letter inside, and after a careful look, found it was nothing but a request for him to give up following the Witch of Death and provide valuable information to the Church Alliance Army. If successful, he would still be hailed as a hero, and the church would reward him handsomely.
However, all this was predicated on the certainty that All Gods would win. More accurately, the Pope of Destiny never considered the possibility of the gods losing, convinced that with divine intervention, victory was inevitable.
Silent for a moment.
Xi Mu burned the letter in his hand, looked at Suna, and said, "I no longer have any choice."
He braced himself on his knees and stood up.
"Suna, let me take you back."
"Come when you want, leave when you want!" Came a contemptuous snort as a tiger-headed beastman walked in. Hands in his pockets, his expression was extremely arrogant, "Since the Saintess of Destiny has come of her own volition, there’s no reason to let her leave."
Suna: "..."
As expected, things were progressing in this direction, and she was now considering whether she should take her life to trigger her return from death.
Otherwise, Ahtal would be put in a difficult position.
"What if I insist on taking her with me?" Xi Mu stepped forward, shielding Suna, his gaze ice cold as he confronted the Tiger King.
The atmosphere turned tense.
The Tiger King grinned, carefully pondering the directives given by Ahtal, ensuring there were no mistakes, then proudly tilted his chin upward, showing a malicious smile:
"You’re free to take her, but only after the Monster Witch has been resurrected."
He flexed his wrists.
"Having the Saintess of Destiny return to the Church Alliance Army could inadvertently reveal many crucial pieces of information, so I must ask her to stay here for the time being."
Suna: "..."
Why did he think that by having her stay here, she wouldn’t leak any information about the Cult of Death? As a follower of the Three Goddesses of Fate, she could relay necessary information through prayer at any time, informing the Church Alliance Army of crucial intelligence.
And she hadn’t been privy to any essential information yet.
Now, letting her stay could pose an even greater risk of intelligence leaks, this tiger-headed beastman wasn’t thinking straight. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"If you refuse, things will become difficult," the Tiger King chuckled darkly, "Ahtal, you understand your position, don’t you?"
"Wait, I can stay!" Suna stepped in front of Ahtal, her face cold, "There’s no need to threaten me with Ahtal!"
"We’ll see how you perform," the Tiger King waved his hand and then turned to leave the living room; his mission was complete.
"It’s okay," Suna turned to Ahtal and smiled, "staying in the Cult of Death gives me the chance to gather intelligence."
