After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 315 - 114: Display Your Talent for Sweet-Talking Women
"..."
The Corpse Witch’s expression was subtly complex as she looked into Ahtal’s gentle and sincere eyes. She opened her mouth to speak, then swiftly tossed her blue hair, "It doesn’t matter. Fussing over these things is pointless."
Her expression turned dangerous once more.
"Human, what brings you to me?"
"Is it really okay to chat inside a coffin?" Xi Mu looked around the gloomy surroundings, while the Corpse Witch rolled her eyes lightly, folding her arms across her chest, her ample breasts heaving slightly.
She closed her eyes and said:
"This is the place that makes me the most comfortable. No one can bother me here, and I can sleep well."
"You’re just plain lazy, aren’t you?" said a sleepy voice. The Corpse Witch turned towards the sound and saw the Witch of the Moon walking over, a look of sleepy irritation on her face as she stood at the edge of the pit.
"You’re going to hide in a coffin and sleep even now?" The Witch of the Moon propped her slender waist with one hand, her expression annoyed.
"This meeting is a matter of life and death for you."
"A matter of life and death for me?" The Corpse Witch blinked her sapphire-like eyes and pushed herself up from the coffin, her water-blue hair cascading down her shoulders, her eyes becoming serious, filled with a cold rationality.
Seeing this, the Witch of the Moon turned to Xi Mu and said:
"Ahtal, now you can talk to her about cooperation. This woman isn’t very serious most of the time, forgets what she says the moment she turns her head, but when it comes to life and death, her memory and attitude improve."
"Why do I feel like you’re insulting me?" The Corpse Witch twitched the corner of her mouth. She just didn’t want to add stress to her life, preferred to take each day as it came, but if it was a matter of life and death, not taking it seriously would mean something was wrong with her brain.
The Witch of the Moon simply turned her head slightly, avoiding the reproachful gaze from the Corpse Witch. She had just spoken the truth.
"There’s not much to discuss," Xi Mu said with a smile. After the Corpse Witch turned her gaze to him, he revealed his purpose, "I’d like to invite you to join the Witch of Death’s faction, to seize control of this world together." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"Join the Witch of Death’s faction?" The Corpse Witch tilted her head in thought, then eyed Ahtal carefully, and said:
"I don’t want to join the Witch of Death’s faction."
"The God of Omniscience has already been sealed," Xi Mu suddenly added, causing the Corpse Witch to freeze. She had been sleeping in the coffin for too long and was not very aware of the outside world’s news, prompting her to turn and look at the Witch of the Moon.
After seeing the Witch of the Moon nod slightly.
"Then I might consider it." The Corpse Witch nodded slightly, her long legs bending a little, then suddenly jumped out of the coffin.
She stood at the edge of the pit and smiled at Xi Mu:
"Human, let’s talk somewhere else." With those words, she turned and walked into the depths of the forest. After a few minutes, they arrived in front of a quaint mansion.
Vines coiled around the iron fence, and several crows perched on the edge of the manor, casting curious and wary glances at the three newcomers.
This mansion hadn’t had visitors for a long time.
"The outside world really does change fast, doesn’t it?" The Corpse Witch pushed open the iron gate, entering the mansion with Xi Mu and the Witch of the Moon.
On the way, she had generally found out from Ahtal about the changes in the outside world, such as the sealing of the God of Omniscience, the Witch of Death declaring war on All Gods, the overlapping of life and death, and the possibility of Ragnarok arriving within the next decade.
The barrage of information made her wonder if she was dreaming.
Whether it was the God of Omniscience being sealed or the imminent arrival of Ragnarok, these things had once seemed so distant to her.
It felt like witnessing history.
"The world has always been in a state of rapid change," Xi Mu said with a smile, walking into the living room with the Corpse Witch. Then he turned cautious as he saw a man embracing a dragon soul on the sofa.
The man had short, sandy hair and a bare upper body revealing eight-pack abs, cuddling with a dragoness who retained her dragon form, whispering sweet nothings.
The atmosphere became awkward.
"Why are you here, Earth Demon?" The Corpse Witch frowned displeasedly, her contempt clear, "And can you not get affectionate in my house? It pollutes the air."
"How rude. We are pure love," the Earth Demon shook his head, then patted the bottom of the dragon soul, who glanced at the others before slithering out of the mansion, giving the room over for discussion.
"If you could find your way here on your own, that saves us some time," said the Witch of the Moon as she stepped into the living room, sweeping back some hair from her ear, and poured a cup of tea for the three of them.
As for expecting the hostess to offer tea to the guests, that was never going to happen; the Corpse Witch couldn’t even take care of herself, let alone tend to others.
So she had to be proactive or else she wouldn’t even get a cup of water.
Steam wafted from the cups of tea.
The Witch of the Moon elegantly took a seat, maintaining a perfect distance from Ahtal, listening to the disconnected content of their negotiation.
After a moment, she couldn’t help but sigh and said:
"If you don’t want to cooperate, then don’t waste words. Just state your demands and see if Ahtal can satisfy them."
She turned her head toward the human male beside her.
"Even though he came to invite us, in the end, the Witch of Death has to agree, otherwise, even if Ahtal promises to give you the whole world, it’s useless."
