This new team was none other than Veronica's guards, led by Ignus and Obi's team, Leez, Dejel, and Tener.

The group arrived at Basset Town on foot not too long ago. They were tired and rested for the night after eating their stock noodles. It was their last one and they were very reluctant to eat it, but the days-long travel on foot took a toll so they felt that they deserved the treat.

The next day, they were shocked to find out that Basset Town was actually going to war with the destination town, Alterra!

This made them complicated. What to do next?

Unexpectedly, while they were eating tasteless bread from the restaurant, Leez seemed to have a moment of enlightenment.

The rough texture of the bread, he would say later, stimulated his brain.

"What if we just used the array as a shortcut?" Leez asked. Anyway, Ignus was level 40 and was just barely within the level cap, so there would be no one left behind if they took this route.

Everyone looked at him with bright eyes.

Genius!

So, there they were.

They had actually sneaked around the array an hour ago, but they wanted less trouble—being mobbed by level 20s would still be troublesome to them—so they had waited a while before making a move.

Unexpectedly, they would see strangers destroying resources and heading to the array! They followed them and when they found out those people were Alterrans, they immediately came to help them.

Lucky coincidence? Probably.

Definitely not for the enemies though!

BANG!

SMACK!

The combined forces of the Alterrans and the newcomers took the enemy in surprise, with everyone rushing to the array and kicking away the people there. They also did not transfer unless everyone was inside. This way, no one would be left behind, possibly grabbed by the enemy at the last second.

Of course, before teleporting, Eagle's eyes fixed on their least-favorite cockroach.

It so happened that before they were rescued, Fargo was pushed near the array by all the chaos.

Eagle grabbed Fargo by his clothing, bringing him to the array.

"WAIT! WAIT!"

Everyone knew that unless they were slaves, each person had to accept the teleportation on their own. Under normal circumstances, Fargo would never accept that. He was once a terrorist Lord, too, so his self-control was not to be underestimated.

But there was no way he'd let this bastard go!! At the same time, it was ideal to bring him back alive.

Other than some important information they could get from him, there… were also many people in Alterra who'd need to see his death to feel some sense of closure.

This man had been the devil in their minds, still haunting them every so often. Eagle was friends with a few so, ideally, he'd receive the public execution that he deserved.

"Doesn't anyone have any truth potions left? Even a little is fine!" he asked his companions, who were pushing back enemies while waiting for him.

Of course, if there were none, he'd just kill the bastard and bring his head to his victims. It wasn't the best scenario, but it wouldn't be too bad.

Fortunately, there really was still one bottle left, but it was almost gone.

The truth potion worked by reducing activity in the prefrontal cortex which had a lot to do with impulse control. It was primarily used to get the truth out of people, but it would also wipe away a person's grit and discipline.

Eagle forced him to gulp the remaining potion, using his ability to block all his airways.

"Press it, you damned bastard," Eagle said with gritted teeth. "PRESS IT! PRESS IT OR DIE!"

Glurg Glurg Glurg

Eagle violently pushed him down the array. "Teleport!" he said, his sword swiping his neck. "Teleport now or I'd take your head."

Fargo, whose brain was muddled with the potion, focused on a simple thing: To survive. So after feeling another swipe of Eagle's sword, he had no choice but to teleport by instinct, and Eagle did so as soon as he felt the force.

They arrived at the Alterra side of the array together, immediately seeing the thousands of people around, hundreds of whom were trying to get inside!

Eagle frowned. They naturally didn't want these people to escape because, after the war, they wouldn't bother going to the other side to get their 'slaves', if any. It was in Alterra's best interest if they were kept on this side. freewebnøvel.coɱ

He looked to the side and stared at the level 40. He had seen him use some of his abilities before. "Are you an earth user?" he asked. Ignus nodded and they created a tall wall around the array, which made the deserters curse at them.

Because it was very temporary, Ignus was able to make it quite tall. To make matters worse for the enemies, Eagle summoned a gust of wind as they ran towards Alterra.

He threw up the opened bottle, using his ability to get the liquid to drop on the area near the array.

"That…"

Many of these people, through Fargo, had studied Alterra a lot. They were familiar with this operation!

A Beast Attracting Potion!!

It was the weaker type and would attract monsters they could handle, but this meant a lot of trouble for them!

"DAMNIT!"

In fact, there were already a number of mobs that had attacked them throughout the war. After all, there were so many people concentrated in this area. However, it wasn't too dense and there were still level 30s around at the time to help deal with them.

However, now that all of the elites had been sent to hunt for the Lord Token, the people left behind were just level 20s or below who had been in a war for hours. How much fighting force would they still have?

Not to mention, a level 40 was helping the enemy out, creating a path for them!

And so…, Eagle and the others breezed through without much trouble anymore, heading back home with several 'gifts' in tow!
