After Prison, She Shocks the World-Chapter 94 No One Compares to Her
Chapter 94: Chapter 94 No One Compares to Her
Fu Bing couldn’t help but sigh. Even a woman who seemed invincible on the outside could be tormented by matters of the heart where no one could see. Just like her; she was adept at managing everything, yet utterly clueless when faced with Qin Jinhai. Even when she hated him, her heart still held the sweetness of their passionate love. She could never believe her judgment was so poor that she’d fallen for a complete scumbag—a scumbag to the bone, at that! She found it even harder to believe someone could have played such a long act in front of her without leaving any flaws. That would be a direct provocation and insult to her intelligence and professional abilities.
Fu Bing shook Qin Jinhai out of her mind and smoothed Zhang Man’s back. "I can’t do anything else for you, but I can join you for a drink. Want one?"
"Drink!"
「Ten minutes later.」
Fu Bing and Zhang Man sat down in a bar near the hotel.
Inside the bar, shadows danced, and the hazy lights made everyone indistinct.
In the dim light, men and women were in the throes of passion, their intense gasps undrowned by the loud music and voices.
Fu Bing watched as several curvaceous yet young-looking girls were led away from the bar by one man after another.
What they were off to do was no mystery.
Fu Bing gradually withdrew her gaze, deciding not to look. Respect others’ fates.
Zhang Man laughed. "Have you never been to a bar by yourself?"
"Not often."
"You seem like a good kid who was coddled growing up. You don’t do things your parents don’t like."
The server brought over their drinks.
The pale yellow liquor, poured into a vintage patterned glass, looked very pretty.
Fu Bing took a sip. "Not exactly. It’s just that I’m not very interested in these things. I also haven’t shot any scenes related to a bar, so I don’t know much about this scene."
"Don’t you find it boring?"
"It was precisely because I found a conventional life boring that I got myself thrown into prison. I stayed there for a few years, which was very interesting."
Zhang Man paused, her glass in hand, and laughed. "You’re so interesting."
"I think so too." Fu Bing clinked glasses with Zhang Man. "The life I want is different from yours. I’ve been wronged and suffered a lot growing up, but I’ve also met many people who love me. My personal feelings often take a backseat to other things, and I’m not as outwardly expressive as you. I really like your bold and expressive personality; it’s not overbearing at all. You’re the first person who has shown me what a real-life wealthy heiress is like."
Zhang Man had heard many compliments, but this was the first time someone had praised her so bluntly.
"Really? The first time I saw you, I thought you were some pampered little heiress hidden away by a prominent family—so pristine, spirited, intelligent, and well-mannered. Then Qin Jinhai appeared by your side, and everyone was even more convinced."
Fu Bing struggled to force a smile. Zhang Man realized she had brought up someone she shouldn’t have.
"What’s going on with you two now?"
"Nothing."
Zhang Man pointed at a young man in the bar. "You’re not short of money now, and you’re gorgeous. Wouldn’t it be nice to date a good-looking younger guy? If you find someone you like, marry them. If not, find someone new. Getting hung up on just one person is the most pointless thing."
"Have you managed to do that?" Fu Bing’s question silenced Zhang Man instantly.
"Love is such a goddamn pain!" Zhang Man gulped down her drink. "I don’t know why I like him so much. I know he wouldn’t spare a glance for any woman who throws herself at him, yet I still like him."
As she spoke, she turned her head to wipe away tears.
Fu Bing said softly, "My mother passed away, and he’s been through life and death situations. Maybe you have a chance."
"Do you really think so?"
"Yes. If you like him that much, then take this opportunity to give it another shot. As for the rest, it’s up to fate."
Zhang Man suddenly felt a surge of confidence. "No more drinking! I’m going back to seduce Ren Ye!"
With that, she hurriedly settled the bill and left.
The night breeze blew over Fu Bing, making her feel dizzy. She tripped over a bottle someone had left on the ground and started to fall backward.
She couldn’t be bothered to struggle, just waiting for the back of her head to hit the ground.
The anticipated pain didn’t come.
She was caught steadily in someone’s arms.
The embrace still carried a faint, lingering scent of blood.
Fu Bing regained a moment of clarity and clutched Wu Shi’s scarred hand.
"I’m sorry for letting you carry the bad reputation that should have been mine."
Wu Shi looked down at her pale hand moving over his, resisting the urge to grasp it, and shook his head. Her pale neck looked even whiter against her dark hair, as if begging for his mark.
"Walk with me."
Wu Shi pulled himself from his thoughts and nodded.
They walked slowly along the deserted street, with only an occasional car racing past.
Neither of them spoke.
The summer night’s breeze was cool, carrying a distinct chill when it gusted. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Fu Bing walked to a spot where she could see Yunxi Lane, which was still lit up.
She found a stool and sat down, her gaze losing focus.
"Wu Shi, are you sad?"
"Yeah."
"I’m sad too," Fu Bing said softly. "I don’t even know how to describe it."
"Can’t forget?"
"I’ve tried, but I can’t."
That boy who shone like the blazing sun—who could possibly forget him after meeting him?
Wu Shi sat next to her. "I can’t forget either."
"Your ’her’ must be a very good person."
Wu Shi turned his head to look at her profile. "No one compares to her."
"How did you meet her?"
"In the Orphanage."
Back then, she’d been curled up into a small ball, her eyes round, dark, and bright. Despite nearly starving to death, she hadn’t been afraid at all and had even comforted him. She’d told him to eat her before she died; otherwise, she wouldn’t be fresh. Later on, Fu Ya appeared. Years later, he recognized Fu Ya, and he recognized her too.
Fu Bing didn’t press further; to do so would be to rip open old wounds.
"I don’t know how to comfort you. What you’ve been through can’t be smoothed over with a few words. I hope we both suffer less."
Having said that, Fu Bing closed her eyes and slumped forward.
Wu Shi caught her.
She was soft in his arms, already asleep.
Wu Shi couldn’t help but whisper, "She can’t even hold her liquor, yet she still goes to a bar with someone."
Despite his words, he held her with exceptional gentleness.
A black car that had been lurking in the deep darkness slowly approached.
Wu Shi carried Fu Bing into the car.
Mu He said, "It has been taken care of."
"Mhm."

Everyone’s phones were inundated with the Jiang Family’s scandal.
Old Mr. Jiang’s history of youthful dalliances was dug up, along with how Old Mrs. Jiang, out of jealousy, had destroyed the lives of several women he had coerced, and their families.
Among them, two lives had been lost.
One woman Mr. Jiang had taken a liking to already had a boyfriend. He had the boyfriend crippled. The woman, watching her beloved beaten until he spat blood, refused to let go and died by slamming her head against a wall on the spot.
The man, unable to bear the shock, jumped off a building with his girlfriend’s body in his arms.
This incident had caused a small stir back then but was suppressed by the Jiang Family.
Today, it had resurfaced.
Some netizens still remembered the video of Jiang Linyuan being tied up late at night.
Jiang Linyuan’s dark past was also ’spontaneously’ dug up by netizens.
The Jiang Family’s reputation was completely ruined.
The Jiang residence was dead silent; even the housekeepers had packed their bags and left overnight.
Mr. Jiang was severely injured, Mrs. Jiang had been poisoned and rendered mute, and Jiang Linyuan was half-dead.
The housekeepers, drivers, and gardeners knew very well this was retribution for all the evil deeds committed; not one of them dared to stay.
In the vast Jiang home, only the three members of the Jiang Family remained.
Ren Shu looked at the gossip about the Jiang Family, feeling disgusted as he saw Jiang Linshan, her cheeks swollen from being beaten.
"Did you know about these things your parents did in the past?"
How could Jiang Linshan dare admit she knew? She shook her head repeatedly.
"If I had known, I certainly wouldn’t have dragged our son and daughter into this. Our children are innocent; how could I possibly tarnish their names?"
