After I Fully Prepared for the Apocalypse, the Ungrateful Cried with Regret-Chapter 170: Like a Divine Descent
The orange-yellow glow was exceptionally bright in the darkness.
But because it flowed slowly, the clamoring zombies swarming around seemed not to sense the danger.
Then, Nina Jacobs waved her hand.
The orange-yellow liquid instantly flowed to the ground.
BOOM!
A huge swath of zombies on the ground was instantly set ablaze!
Even the zombies that were forming a human pyramid to climb up instantly crumbled and fell apart.
"Is this... a Fire Element Superpower?"
Julian Dempsey asked in disbelief.
"What’s with that astonishing destructive power?"
"Could it be that Nina Jacobs was really advancing before?"
Pascal Paige stared at Nina Jacobs’s figure outside.
They could all feel that Nina Jacobs’s current strength had grown by leaps and bounds.
"It looks that way, yes."
Chase Gallagher clutched the wound on his shoulder.
He had just been careless and was injured by a Wind Blade from a Wind Element variant zombie.
But seeing Nina Jacobs awake, he was more excited than anyone.
’An Intermediate Superpower User! I’m actually seeing one!’
"This is great! Nina Jacobs is finally awake."
Yvonne Willow was so overcome with emotion that she started to cry.
The moment Nina Jacobs woke up, it was as if she knew everything that had happened, and she immediately took Wayne Warner downstairs.
Worried, the rest of them had followed her to the second floor.
Now, on the second-floor platform.
Nina Jacobs was taking in the changes after her advancement to an Intermediate Superpower User.
The small flames that had previously filled the sky had now become Fireballs.
In the dead of night, dozens of Fireballs hurtled toward the zombie horde on the ground.
The firelight illuminated the zombies’ ghastly faces. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
In an instant, their bodies were devoured by the flames, carbonized, and disintegrated...
The scene was like an inferno.
As the zombies in front were incinerated, more from behind surged forward to take their place.
She had chosen to stand on the second floor because it was close enough to the zombies.
Only from here could she maximize her damage output.
And because the scent of human flesh was closer, nearly all the surrounding zombies began to swarm below her.
Watching the tide of zombies,
a smirk of excitement played on Nina Jacobs’s lips.
She had just successfully advanced, and her body was in peak condition.
After the last droplet fell in her sea of consciousness,
the pond inside her had transformed into a vast lake.
She could feel a ceaseless supply of Superpower within her, ready to be wielded.
BOOM! BOOM!
Several consecutive volleys of Fireballs forced many of the variant zombies to retreat.
Any variant zombie that tried to challenge her stepped forward right into the liquid fire on the ground.
Clusters of flames engulfed one zombie after another.
The area below instantly became a sea of fire.
"What is that?!"
James Fletcher saw something clearly rising from the sea of fire.
The thing even took the initiative to attack several variant zombies!
"A Fire Serpent..."
Jordan Vaughn’s eyes widened.
This Fire Serpent was even bigger than the one Nina Jacobs had used to defeat him days ago.
Its Attack Power was also much stronger!
"She’s gotten even stronger..."
Finn Hart leaned against the nearby doorframe.
’What kind of monster is Nina Jacobs?’
Wherever the Fire Serpent passed, flames erupted.
Several variant zombies were sent flying by the Fire Serpent and were engulfed in fire before they could even get back up.
Several Gold Spikes shot toward Nina Jacobs, but Wayne Warner caught them all firmly in his hands.
"Wayne, don’t throw those away! Can you give them to me?"
Holden Shaw held out his hands.
He was just worrying about not having a weapon.
After all, anything he threw never came back.
These Gold Spikes created by the zombies were non-toxic and perfect for him to use.
CLATTER.
Wayne Warner opened his palms and gave a handful of large and small Gold Spikes to Holden Shaw.
The "Powerful Gloves" on his hands were a gift from the system and had some defensive capabilities.
Therefore, Nina Jacobs wasn’t worried about Wayne Warner getting hurt.
Just then, Nina Jacobs slightly raised her arm.
As if summoned, the nearby Fire Serpent obediently coiled beside her.
"So this is how effective area-of-effect attacks are. Then what about this?"
Nina Jacobs waved her hand, and a series of Fire Arrows appeared in midair.
In her past life, she had seen an Advanced Fire Element Superpower User use this move.
Back then, she had been completely astounded by the sight.
Now, she could try it for herself.
The Fire Arrows trembled slightly in midair, as if gathering power.
"Go."
Under Nina Jacobs’s Control, the arrows rained down on the zombie horde like a fiery shower.
Some arrows pierced straight through the zombies’ heads.
Others were dodged and landed on the ground or on other zombies, but they quickly burst into flames.
"Looks like my accuracy still needs work, and the impact force is just average,"
Nina Jacobs muttered to herself.
"Then what about this?"
Another dozen or so Fire Arrows appeared in midair.
This time, each Fire Arrow was formed around a wooden spike.
SWOOSH!
Each of the dozen or so arrows pierced a zombie’s head in a single strike.
"Reducing the number does seem to improve accuracy, and combining it with the Wood Element increases the damage."
Nina Jacobs experimented tirelessly.
She went on to try wrapping flames around Stone Spikes,
and then coordinating Fire Arrows with the Speed Element for kills.
’Who in the world is she? How can she be so powerful!’
James Fletcher’s eyes were filled with shock.
No matter how worldly he was, he had never seen such a powerful Fire Element Superpower User.
She seemed completely unconcerned about consuming her Superpower, simply enjoying the effects of each move.
"Could it be that before, she was..."
’Advancing?!’
Phoebe Vance recalled seeing Nina Jacobs sleeping in Wayne Warner’s arms.
She remembered the higher-ups once mentioning the matter of Superpower Users advancing.
Before an advancement, one would indeed lose consciousness for a period of time.
Although she was reluctant to believe it, Phoebe Vance had to admit that Nina Jacobs’s strength now surpassed that of any Superpower User she had ever seen.
"We’re saved!"
Inside the building, someone cheered.
It was late into the night, and thick smoke rolled through the streets.
But this scene gave everyone confidence.
"Everyone, let’s do this in one push! We can win this and turn the tables!"
Eric Stone rallied everyone.
There were too many zombies; they couldn’t let her bear the burden alone.
"Kill all the zombies and break out!"
"Kill all the zombies and break out!"
"..."
Kurt Garrison led the others to occupy the various platforms on the second floor.
Nina Jacobs also saw the members of the Lockwood Squad.
Although she had been asleep, she was aware of everything that had happened over the past few days.
Including how the survivors in the basement had just sacrificed themselves to lure the zombies away, all to buy them a moment’s respite...
And that included what happened to Walsh.
It was just that she had been in the middle of her advancement back then and couldn’t wake up.
With a ROAR, the Fire Serpent charged down the center of the street, plowing through the zombie horde.
It instantly set the horde ablaze for everyone and illuminated the night.
The Fire Serpent did not dissipate; instead, it coiled in front of the building.
Like a divine descent.
Light was a rare sight in the apocalyptic night.
Perhaps the night was too dark, or perhaps the light was too bright.
Even people far away noticed it.
"Uncle Hale, can you sense what’s happening over there?"
Ian Chandler stood at a window, gazing at the distant, flickering light.
The distance was considerable, making the light resemble a twinkling, brilliant star.
Daniel Hale shook his head. "It’s too far."
They could both tell it was likely a Fire Element Superpower.
"Killing zombies this late at night... they must have run into an emergency," Ian Chandler analyzed.
Unfortunately, they were too far away. Venturing out in the middle of the night wasn’t realistic.
The reason he was so concerned was that he suspected it might be Nina Jacobs.
