"Stop!"

A familiar figure grabbed Ben Stone’s hand.

Just then, Renee Strong appeared in the main hall, seemingly out of nowhere.

"Liam, what are you doing?"

Renee Strong never would have imagined that when Liam Grant made an excuse to leave, it was to come here and see Nina Jacobs.

They had just finished organizing a nearby supply cache in the evening, only for the acid rain to arrive half an hour earlier than expected, trapping them in the warehouse.

’Liam Grant said he had some business to take care of here, and it turns out he came to see Nina Jacobs?’

"Renee, you’re here."

Liam Grant pulled Renee Strong off to the side, and the two of them seemed to be discussing something.

But what they could never have imagined was that Nina Jacobs was listening to their every word using her "Five Senses Enhancement."

"So you came here for her? Have you forgotten what we talked about before?"

"I came here to find her. Don’t you know why?"

"But what if she refuses?" Renee Strong asked.

"Then we’ll find a way to make her agree."

"Don’t forget, we’re the ones who know her best."

Liam Grant’s words put Renee Strong at ease.

After exchanging a few more words, Liam Grant walked back over and said in a low voice:

"Renee said our car is just outside. I’ll take you back, and I can pay your mother a visit while I’m at it. I heard she’s pregnant. It’s not safe out there, and if anything happens, we guys can help look after things."

Liam Grant had expected Nina Jacobs to agree after hearing his offer, but she didn’t even spare him a glance.

"Tell me, if these people knew you had a car and could leave, don’t you think someone might want to hitch a ride?" Nina Jacobs asked with a smile.

The people in the mall had all come seeking shelter. Many of them were injured and desperate to get to the nearest hospital.

But the entrances and exits to the underground parking garage were all blocked, and rescue teams couldn’t reach them yet.

If people found out now that there was a car that could leave, Liam Grant and Renee Strong probably wouldn’t be able to get away.

After all, humanity’s will to survive should never be underestimated.

"Still so stubborn. I hope you don’t come begging me for help later."

Liam Grant shook his head.

’The acid rain is just the beginning. Tomorrow, I’ll awaken my Thunder Element Superpower.’

Nina Jacobs’s eyes were filled with contempt.

"Don’t worry, whenever you decide to come, Liam and I will welcome you. Number 32, Prosperity Gardens. We’ll be waiting for you."

Renee Strong walked over gracefully. At a time like this, she didn’t mind putting on a show of magnanimity.

It was the same in their past life. Whenever Liam Grant was injured, she would tend to his wounds, and when he was frustrated, she would be the one to comfort him.

Compared to Nina Jacobs’s wild and reckless nature, Liam Grant was someone who preferred to be looked up to by others.

Meanwhile, Nina Jacobs stood outside the crowd, looking like she was enjoying the show. She even gave them a sharp middle finger.

Liam Grant hadn’t expected Nina Jacobs to actually pull a move like this.

He gave Nina Jacobs a deep, meaningful look, then grabbed Renee Strong and quickly pushed through the crowd.

"I need to go to the hospital! I need to go to the hospital..."

Ben Stone had clearly been frightened out of his wits. He looked dazed, repeating that same phrase over and over.

Nina Jacobs sighed.
