After Divorce: Remarried to a Tycoon with Twin Babies-Chapter 106: The First Woman by President Thorne’s Side!
Summer Dunn was right in front of Vivian Sinclair. Her eyes lit up instantly, and she excitedly grabbed Vivian’s hand, "Isn’t it that gentleman you were looking for?"
Dean Caldwell also looked towards Vivian anxiously, "This... is it President Thorne?"
Vivian Sinclair nodded.
Then, amidst everyone’s curiosity and Annette Crawford’s look of suppressed disgust and shock, she took her phone and stepped aside.
Vivian Sinclair answered the call, "Mr. Thorne."
Annette Crawford scoffed quietly, "What’s so great about her?"
"She does have some resources, but that doesn’t mean anything."
"She owes Uncle Tris anyway, so it’s her duty to do her best to find someone."
"I just hate that she’s so omnipotent and always acting superior!"
Dean Caldwell glanced over, "Some resources?"
"Miss, you seem to misunderstand what Miss Sinclair holds in her hands."
"Miss Sinclair’s resources are not just some."
"You should consider why she can easily invite someone that even I couldn’t bring in."
"Like myself, for example."
"If it wasn’t for Miss Sinclair today, I wouldn’t have come over to perform the surgery myself."
"If you were omnipotent as well, you could also act superior."
"Don’t talk about your incompetence and jealousy as if they’re so noble and pure."
Annette Crawford didn’t expect the dean to be so sharp-tongued in defending Vivian Sinclair, and was furious and embarrassed, tears rushing to her eyes, "You—"
"You, as the dean, speaking like this openly, isn’t it just abusing your position for personal gain?"
"I’m going to expose you!"
The dean snorted.
"Go ahead and expose."
"It would be best to let everyone know how you’re repaying kindness with spite!"
Annette Crawford’s face turned completely red.
She was about to say more when Caleb Crawford pulled her back.
"Aren’t you embarrassed enough?"
Fiona Rhodes didn’t speak, but her gaze was complicated as she stared at Vivian Sinclair’s back.
Summer Dunn also said, "Stop arguing!"
"Vivian is genuinely trying to help dad, I trust her."
"If anyone argues again, don’t blame me for ruthlessly asking them to leave!"
Her eyes glanced at Annette Crawford with a hint of warning.
Annette Crawford couldn’t take it anymore and shook off her father’s hand.
"You’re all fooled by Vivian Sinclair!"
"Just wait until she ruins your lives, let’s see who will speak for her then."
After saying that, Annette Crawford ran off, and Summer Dunn watched her back in deep thought.
Vivian Sinclair found it noisy there and walked further away.
"Mr. Thorne, can you hear me?"
Julian Thorne’s voice sounded a bit hoarse, yet he asked, "Did something happen over there?"
"I heard someone mentioning your name."
Vivian Sinclair didn’t deny it, after all, if Julian asked Major and Minor, they would tell him everything that happened today.
Vivian avoided the topic and directly said, "My teacher had an accident."
"The situation is critical now."
"I’ve called you many times, did I delay your affairs?"
Vivian discerned that Julian’s voice was a bit unusual, and she felt a little apologetic for bothering him repeatedly.
Moreover, unknowingly, she owed him more and more.
Julian Thorne: "I indeed had some things on my hands, so I missed your calls."
"I’ll make arrangements at the hospital, you don’t need to worry."
"What part of your teacher is injured?"
Seeing him get straight to the point, Vivian quickly said, "Her head is seriously injured."
"Mr. Thorne, when Old Tanner was critically ill last time, did you invite a gentleman named J?"
"Could you help contact this gentleman again?"
"The dean mentioned, with him, there’s a seventy percent chance for my teacher."
"We’re willing to pay any amount."
Julian Thorne, however, said, "J is not in Ardis recently."
Vivian Sinclair’s heart sank instantly to the bottom.
There were strange noises coming from Julian’s side again.
Vivian Sinclair even heard a few ’bang’ sounds.
Instantly, her mind was on high alert, those sounded like... gunshots?
"Mr. Thorne, are you really alright?"
The sound on the other end paused for a moment.
After a few seconds, his voice came through deep and low: "It’s fine."
"Someone is setting off fireworks."
Really?
Vivian Sinclair didn’t fully believe it. She wanted to ask him exactly where he was but feared overstepping, so she simply said, "Then, I’ll leave you be."
Since J wasn’t in Ardis, Vivian Sinclair could only accept the reality.
Julian Thorne, however, said, "Give the phone to Dean Caldwell."
The dean took Vivian Sinclair’s phone, his attitude humble and respectful as he walked to the side: "President Thorne, please speak."
Julian Thorne opened with a question: "Has someone bullied Miss Sinclair?"
Dean Caldwell glanced at the entrance where a crowd of art bigwigs gathered, and said in a low voice: "Miss Sinclair doesn’t seem to be at a disadvantage."
Julian Thorne didn’t respond, while sweat continued to drip down Dean Caldwell’s forehead.
Good heavens, what’s the relationship between these two?
President Thorne seems to have a special concern for Miss Sinclair, but they address each other formally.
Has there ever been a woman around President Thorne?
At least Miss Sinclair is the first I’ve seen!
Although Miss Sinclair is married... Dean Caldwell still felt their relationship wasn’t ordinary. Fortunately, his vigilance was correct; he sensed Miss Sinclair had a special place beside President Thorne and deliberately made friendly gestures to leave his contact information.
In hindsight, he truly gambled right!
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to return the favor nor have the chance to perform today.
Just as he was thinking, Julian Thorne said: "The operating room can set up remote video; I’ll assist you as a deputy remotely."
Dean Caldwell nearly burst into tears upon hearing this.
"Really?"
"Ah, President Thorne, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me."
"If those fellows knew, wouldn’t they die of jealousy?"
"Hahaha, great, great, it’s settled then!"
Dean Caldwell happily hung up the phone but when he turned around to face the solemn and skeptical looks of the crowd, his expression instantly sobered.
Almost forgot, life and death are at stake!
Dean Caldwell returned the phone to Vivian Sinclair with both hands and explained: "Miss Sinclair, rest assured, President Thorne has instructed, regarding Old Mr. Dunn’s surgery... I currently have sixty percent confidence and hope."
"However, although the chances for the surgery have increased, I still ask you all to prepare for the worst psychologically."
"Everyone, expect good news from me."
Having said that, Dean Caldwell turned and walked briskly into the surgery room once again.
Watching his courageous and decisive silhouette disappear down the corridor behind the surgery room’s door, everyone felt their hearts leap to their throats.
Summer Dunn felt weak in the knees; when she turned to look for Vivian Sinclair’s voice, she found Vivian already at the elevator entrance.
Summer Dunn immediately caught up: "Vivian, wait!"
Summer Dunn held Vivian Sinclair, continually thanking and apologizing: "Vivian, thank you, truly, thank you."
"Earlier, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have lashed out at you."
"I misunderstood you, really sorry."
"Don’t leave, I think my dad definitely wants you to stay."
Summer Dunn repeatedly apologized; Vivian Sinclair wasn’t one to hold grudges, and she immediately supported her, saying: "Senior sister, it’s all in the past."
"We all hope the professor can recover quickly."
The doyens standing at the entrance of the surgery room all looked a bit grave.
Only Professor Andrews and Tina Archer walked over together, with Professor Andrews saying: "Vivian, shall we sit in the rest area?"
Jasmine quickly added: "Yes, Vivian, you mustn’t be exhausted. Take a seat and rest? I’ve ordered some takeout and it should arrive soon, have some food."
Vivian Sinclair looked at Jasmine gratefully.
Though the professor was still in surgery, she was indeed already starving.
After sitting down, Vivian Sinclair looked at Professor Andrews and asked: "Professor, were you with the professor today as well?"
"Can I ask what exactly happened?"
"Why would the professor suddenly fall from upstairs?"
Professor Andrews adjusted his glasses and replied: "To tell the truth, I’m not entirely sure how it happened."
"There was a gathering at Orchardia today; I was invited and attended."
"After dinner, everyone mentioned the set of jade accessories you launched a while ago. Uncle Tris said you’re truly gifted and it pleased him greatly."
"Master Fiona suddenly got up and called him out."
"No one knows what they said in the corridor, but it quickly escalated into a heated argument, with your name repeatedly mentioned."
"When a group of us rushed out from the room at the sound, we saw Uncle Tris’s expression drastically change; he seemed unstable, his body swayed and suddenly tilted over, flipping out of the window!"
Summer Dunn shivered: "Was it Auntie Rhodes?"
Professor Andrews hurriedly said: "No, no, we clearly saw Fiona didn’t push your dad."
"They were three meters apart at that time; it appeared Fiona intended to leave."
"She turned back at the sound of your dad’s cry and even reached out, trying to grab him."
"However, it was too late, ah—"
Vivian Sinclair paused, finding it odd: "Why would the professor suddenly tilt over and fall when everything seemed fine... this sounds so strange?"
Professor Andrews: "I find it odd too, which is why I can’t explain it clearly."
Vivian Sinclair: "At that time, besides the professor and... Master Fiona, was anyone else at the window area?"
