After Divorce I Married a Tycoon-Chapter 208: Then I’m Going to Kiss You Now
The young man heard her voice come from right above him and looked up.
He froze when he saw it was really her.
He suppressed his excitement and nodded, stunned.
Then he picked up the phone on his table and opened his WeChat QR code.
After adding him on WeChat, Stella Thorne asked politely,
"Are you here having a late-night snack by yourself?"
The young man nodded shyly.
"Yeah, I’m from the next city over. I came to Rhonia to watch your competition."
He’d been following Stella Thorne for a while. She was beautiful, had a sweet voice, a great figure...
And when she smiled, her two dimples were heart-stoppingly sweet.
He loved seeing her smile, and the way she shone on stage.
He was such a big fan of Stella Thorne that he’d bought a ticket and traveled from the next city over just to see their finals today.
He never expected so much to go wrong during the event.
But that didn’t stop him from admiring her confident, sweet smile from his seat in the audience.
After the show, he’d looked up a guide and come out alone to try some of Rhonia’s famous late-night snacks.
He never thought he’d actually run into her in person at a snack shop.
And that she would come over and ask for his WeChat...
He was so thrilled he thought he was dreaming and nearly leaped up to cheer.
"Can I join you all?" he blurted out.
The question made Stella Thorne freeze up awkwardly.
She wasn’t socially anxious, but having a complete stranger ask to join their group for food and drinks...
Seeing Stella Thorne’s conflicted expression, the young man instantly regretted it.
He looked apologetic. "I’m sorry, that was too forward of me."
Stella Thorne was about to say she’d go ask her friends, but the young man spoke again.
"I have to catch a flight after this anyway. You all have a good time."
’Getting her WeChat was already incredibly lucky,’ he thought. ’I can’t be greedy.’
He didn’t want to put her in a difficult position, and he knew he had been too impulsive.
Hearing this, Stella Thorne nodded and said,
"Well, have a safe flight, then. Come back and visit Rhonia again when you have the chance."
The young man gave her a shy smile. "Okay, thank you."
Stella Thorne returned to her seat.
Roxanne Peyton leaned over again, batting her eyes and asking with a sly grin,
"So? He’s cute and well-mannered, right?"
"Looks like a college student. The puppy-dog type."
"You ever thought about trying to date a younger guy?"
Stella Thorne shot her an exasperated look. "I have no idea what you’re rambling on about."
Then, the game continued.
Adrian Sutton still couldn’t seem to draw the King.
He was so frustrated he wanted to rip the cards to shreds.
This time, however, the King card was drawn by Claire Mercer.
He was terrified they would give Claire an outrageous dare.
He stared daggers at Silas Rowan, his eyes full of warning.
But Silas Rowan could read him like a book.
Wasn’t Adrian just hoping this game tonight would be his chance to get closer to Claire? He’d been hoping all night to draw the King himself, just so he could be on the receiving end of a dare from Silas.
Unfortunately, his luck was terrible. They’d already played five rounds, and he hadn’t drawn it once.
But him not drawing it and Claire drawing it was just as good.
He leaned close to Roxanne Peyton’s ear and whispered,
"What do you think of Adrian and his feelings for Claire?"
Roxanne Peyton answered without a second thought. "He’s great for her."
Silas: "So, do you want to see them actually get together?"
After a moment’s thought, Roxanne Peyton nodded.
"As long as he’s genuinely good to Claire, then of course, as her best friends, we want to see her happy."
Hearing her answer, Silas Rowan let out a sigh of relief. "Great. Then play along with me."
Roxanne Peyton blinked, staring at him quizzically. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"For the dare, have Claire..."
He lowered his voice. After listening, Roxanne Peyton nodded with a smile.
"Let’s do what you said."
Then, Roxanne Peyton said to Claire Mercer, "Claire, first, you have to finish your drink."
Claire Mercer obediently picked up the glass in front of her and downed the beer in one go.
Then Roxanne Peyton announced the dare with a sly smile.
"For your dare... I dare you and Adrian Sutton to link arms and drink."
As soon as the dare was announced, Stella Thorne grumbled, dissatisfied,
"What kind of dare is that? They’re a couple. Isn’t linking arms to drink totally normal for them?"
"I say, after they drink, they should share a kiss."
Hearing this, Roxanne Peyton immediately clapped her hands with a grin. "I second that motion!"
Seeing her own best friend egging them on, Claire Mercer was speechless.
Blushing, she glanced sideways at Adrian Sutton and saw that the tips of his ears were bright red.
Even though they had been living together for over two months, they had never done anything intimate.
And now, all of a sudden, she had to link arms and drink with him, and then kiss him...
Claire Mercer felt her heart pounding like a drum, and she nervously clutched the hem of her clothes.
"Claire, this is Truth or Dare. You’re not going to back out and refuse to play, are you?"
Claire Mercer thought for a moment, then straightened up without any coyness.
She first picked up her own glass, then reached over, took Adrian Sutton’s glass, and placed it in his hand.
Her fingertips inadvertently brushed the back of his hand, making her own tremble. She almost lost her grip on the glass.
"Come on. It’s just linking arms to drink. What’s the big deal?"
Adrian Sutton’s hand, holding the glass, was trembling slightly.
His heart was pounding so fiercely he felt like he could actually hear it.
Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Claire Mercer felt much bolder than usual.
She proactively hooked her arm, the one holding her glass, through Adrian Sutton’s. The rims of their glasses touched, and they both drank.
The slightly bitter taste of the alcohol mingled with the sound of her own heartbeat, spreading through Claire Mercer’s chest.
After a stunned moment, Adrian Sutton also drained his glass, not leaving a single drop.
Seeing this, Roxanne Peyton and Stella Thorne clapped and cheered.
"Now for the kiss! Don’t back out."
"Fine." Claire Mercer bit her lip and nodded boldly.
"As long as Adrian Sutton doesn’t object, I’m fine with it."
’I’ve thought about it before,’ she mused. ’Spending a lifetime with someone like Adrian Sutton wouldn’t be so bad. As long as he’s on board, I don’t think there’ll be any issues on my end. Besides, since Roxanne is egging me on like this, I definitely won’t go easy on her later. My godmother wanted me to set her up with Silas Rowan, and tonight is the perfect opportunity.’
"Adrian Sutton, I’m going to kiss you. Do you object?"
Silas Rowan muttered under his breath, "He’s been dying for this, why would he object?"
After a few drinks, Claire Mercer was already feeling a bit dizzy.
Hearing Silas Rowan muttering, she asked, "Huh? What did you say? I didn’t quite hear you."
"Nothing," Silas Rowan said with a chuckle. "Let him answer for himself."
"Adrian Sutton, be straight with me. I’m going to kiss you. Any objections?"
Adrian Sutton fought to keep the smile off his lips, but his gaze locked onto her eyes, unwavering.
He shook his head, a nearly imperceptible rasp in his voice.
"Since it’s a game, we should respect the rules. I have no objection."
"Alright, then," Claire Mercer said, her tone both solemn and serious. "I’m going to kiss you now. Brace yourself."
