After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 99 - 98: Entering His Father’s Battleship
In the past month there was no disturbance of Zergs in the frontlines.
So, the army was only doing surveillance and of course killing stray Zergs that wanted to cross the border.
After doing a lot of guiding for the past month he already received a lot of herbs he could use.
Even if they were soldiers of Layton Lewis of course they were not exempted from paying.
That’s why almost every day he has received some rare herbs from the sentinels he has guided.
Of course, we were not directly receiving them because they need to be accounted for their value after that he could receive them.
It would be unfair for others if they just gave something of higher or lower value. So, Layton Lewis assigned someone to be responsible for it.
If it is less than the value, then they need to pay the remaining star coins.
If it is greater than the value, then they would be paying for the exceeded value of it or they could reserve it to be added for their next payment.
He also listed some more expensive herbs that he needed and gave them to them.
He asked them to prioritize sending them as payment if they have some of them.
It didn’t even take long, and he received many copies of the list he had sent.
Well, he wasn’t really surprised because those who have 2S level mental power all have high ranks in the military so they should have enough star coins and some medicals herbs with them.
And even if they don’t have the herbs, they could surely buy it and give it to him as his preferred payment were herbs.
They surely don’t need to do that much because he was still happy to just receive star coins but with how sentinels are they would surely cater to the preference of the guide first.
So, in the past month he didn’t even receive any star coins as payment but only received different types of herbs.
Well, he was indeed happy receiving some herbs almost every day.
"Ryzel, do you remember that your battleship will arrive here today?" Layton Lewis said while having their breakfast.
"Oh, really? Is that today?" Ryzel asked. He almost forgot that Layton Lewis indeed said that his father’s battleship would be here this day.
"Yes, it’s today. Are you sure of your final decision about it?"
"Yes, I’m sure. Even if I’m indeed the owner, I don’t have a use for it. So, it is good for the ninth army to use it.
I can’t just let it rot; it would be a waste of resources. Besides, I’m sure the federation wouldn’t let it be unused for a long time."
Ryzel already talked to Layton Lewis about the usage of the battleship that his father owns. He would let the ninth army use it, at least he was sure that they could put it to good use.
At least the ship won’t be left unused and unrepaired unlike when it was in the hands of his so-called relatives.
He was more willing to let the ninth army use it as they were the army who were the most active in protecting the frontlines.
"Ok, we will use it well, thank you very much," Layton Lewis said sincerely.
"No need to say thanks. As long as it was used well, then it is already good," Ryzel replied with a smile.
In the afternoon, while Ryzel was taking notes about his observations about the combination of herbs Layton Lewis knocked.
"Ryzel, the battleship already arrived, do you want to see it?" Layton Lewis said as soon as he opened the door.
"Yes, of course, just wait for a bit," Ryzel said and continued taking notes about his observations.
After five minutes, he finished taking down notes and also arranged all the things on his table.
Layton Lewis patiently waited for him to finish all the things he needed and asked, "Shall we go?"
"Let’s go," Ryzel agreed.
They used an aircraft and went directly to where the battleship was.
When they arrived Ryzel saw just the outer appearance of the ship. It looked like it was really successfully repaired, just the outer cover made it look very new.
Both of them entered the ship and Ryzel observed the interior of the ship.
All the things that needed to be repaired were all repaired properly.
Ryzel also saw that some of the old equipment on the ship was all upgraded to newer versions.
When they arrived at the control room, Ryzel saw that Mervin was already there together with some of Layton Lewis’ other Lieutenant-generals.
"Wow, Lewis, you really brought treasure to the ninth army! Thank you so much for this ship Ryzel!" Mervin said excitedly.
"Thank you very much Ryzel!" Lieutenant general Rick said.
"With this battleship our army’s combat effectiveness will be higher! Thank you very much!" Lieutenant General Venna said.
"Yes, we could kill more Zergs with this! Thank you!" Lieutenant general Ren said.
It seems that all the lieutenant generals who weren’t too busy came to visit the ship.
hey should have been notified by Layton Lewis that they would have a new main battleship.
Main battleships are extremely expensive, that’s why most of the legion only have at least 3 such battleships.
Unfortunately, the ninth army only has 2 left because the other battleship was sacrificed in a large scale battle a few years ago. A new battleship for the ninth army was still under construction.
Making a battleship requires a lot of resources because of its large size so it was very difficult to make.
A main battleship can carry at least a thousand ships on its body, so it was very difficult to make.
His father only became the owner of such a battleship because of good luck.
At that time the production team of the battleships had an extra warship that wasn’t bought by the military because they already had enough and what they needed at that time were mechas.
His father has a friend in the team, so he knew the information in advance and bought it immediately.
He purchased the warship in exchange for 2 planets which have very rich mineral resources he discovered while on vacation with his mother.
The minerals on those planets were all rare so it was enough to buy such a battleship.
Nowadays the federation already prohibited citizens from owning such large ships so only a few individuals manage to buy such ships.
With the enactment of the law the federation didn’t take back the ship already brought individually.
However, they also set a condition that it shouldn’t be used in any malicious way for the federation and to lend it to the federation in case the federation needs it badly.
"No need to say thanks. As long as you use it properly, I don’t have any problems with it," Ryzel said with a slight smile.
He already guided them and often met them at the military headquarters, so he finally got to know them better. So, he was able to show them a little bit of his smile nowadays.
However, he knew that they still weren’t used to his smiles, so he still doesn’t do it often because they were still distracted about it.
They aren’t like Layton Lewis who could already withstand his smiling face. Well, he always smiles and laughs with Layton Lewis by his side, so he was able to get used to it.
"By the way Lewis who will you assign to manage this battleship?" Mervin asked.
"Let’s follow our original arrangement. Zam, Paul, and Venna will be responsible in operating this ship," Layton Lewis arranged and even asked, "Do you have any objections?"
"We don’t have any objections, General Lewis!" The lieutenant generals answered.
After stopping by the control room, they left the lieutenant generals who were eagerly trying out the ship’s command center.
Both of them walked slowly going to the ships laboratory as they were observing the places they were passing by.
When they reached the laboratory of his mother, he saw that nothing changed much of its arrangement and equipment with what he remembered seeing when he was still a child.
He directly opened the system operator in his mother laboratory and scanned the code he had.
[Please enter the key...Code being analyzed...Highest code successfully entered...You are now able to view all the data available in this system.]
Ryzel still remembered that when his parents were confirmed to be dead, he received the code sent by his mother.
The code should have been programmed to be sent to him as soon as they were confirmed to be gone.
When he received the code, he never told anyone about it. Because the code was also with a warning message that if a person other than Ryzel used the code, all the files in the database of the system would be gone.
Even when his so-called relatives and his ex-boyfriend were lamenting that they couldn’t find the research results of his mother. He didn’t say anything until now, which is indeed the right decision.
