After Breaking the Persona, I Reach the Peak of My Life-Chapter 964 - 950: Explosion
The cargo ship slowly moves on the sea surface, makes a turn, and gradually heads towards the nearby dock.
Half-squinting at the ship piled high with goods, the woman leans seductively against the wall, her fingertip touching her lips, "Wow, looks like our prey is coming."
The man glances indifferently ahead, nods, "Get ready."
Meanwhile, the leader beside them, poised for action, speaks greedily to the few people behind him, "As soon as the ship stops, immediately hijack and unload the goods! We won’t let Zheng Family’s new cargo get away!"
Listening to the leader’s words, the woman scoffs disdainfully, commenting lightly, "What an ugly face..."
"You!"
"Hm?"
Watching the woman’s mockingly amused expression, her alluring features typical of a Western woman are prominent, yet her naturally jade-green eyes flicker with a subtle killing intent, as if a single unsatisfactory word from the leader would trigger her to start a massacre.
The leader swallows hard, choking back his words, but as a man’s pride cannot tolerate a Western woman’s provocation, he still asserts a cold snort, yet dares not glance at the woman again.
"Coward."
The woman casually spat out two words, no longer paying attention to the leader’s reaction, she strides towards the front in her high heels.
As the cargo ship draws nearer, a snap of fingers is heard, followed by the sound of pop, pop, pop—every surveillance camera and streetlight on the dock shatters and is destroyed. In an instant, the woman vanishes into the darkness, her whereabouts unknown.
"You..."
The leader’s eyes widen suddenly, looking around to find himself surrounded by emptiness. If he saw the woman vanish himself, how had that man managed it too?!
"Damn it!" he curses under his breath. No wonder the boss warned him to be cautious, they’re all freaks with strange powers!
Thinking thus, a flash of jealousy flickers in his eyes, after all, they’re all humans, why do they have so-called powers while he remains just an ordinary person?!
Face twisted, as he hears the cargo ship preparing to stop signaled by the whistle, the leader waves his hand, "Go!"
When the leader boards the cargo ship, the woman simultaneously appears onboard. She surveys those rummaging nearby, sneers, intending to wait until they unload the goods when suddenly her brows furrow severely, commanding, "Jump ship!"
Several people are stunned, not understanding why the woman suddenly ordered them to jump ship. Facing such a high distance to the water’s surface is intimidating, yet the leader also sneers, directing his men, "Ignore her, unload!"
The woman crosses her arms, spitting out two words, "Fools."
With that, a thought shifts, and she instantly disappears from the ship, and as she vanishes, the cargo ship erupts into an explosion. Flames and debris scatter towards the dock, some even alight with fire.
Those guarding the dock hear the sound and immediately rush with flashlights towards the explosion, while patrolling officers and nearby police receive reports and drive over.
The woman appears beside her companions, looking at those submerged in the flames, "A bunch of idiots."
The man frowns, his face somber, "Looks like we’ve been played."
"Ha, you just realized you’ve been duped," Katrina toyed with her curls, "The boss has been searching for what he desires for years without success. How could it be something an ordinary person claims to find? I think the boss has driven himself crazy hunting for it."
"Katrina!" The man barked coldly, "Watch your words! Do you not want to live?!"
Katrina’s expression likewise turned dark, "You should also watch your attitude! Harry! You’re not in a position to show off in front of me! Got it?! If you want to tell the boss, go ahead; I don’t care!"
"If you want to stay alive, don’t act crazy!" Harry snapped, no longer paying attention to Katrina.
Katrina ignored Harry’s grim face, turning her gaze to the people busy extinguishing the flames, "This place will certainly be tightly guarded for now. We should wait for this turmoil to pass."
At that moment, Katrina’s speech halts as she incredulously looks across, only to see a young boy standing in the shadows on the opposite side. His face obscured by a duckbill cap, yet it’s not hard to tell he’s watching the direction of the recent explosion.
