After Breaking Off the Engagement, I Started Pursuing My Master-Chapter 31 - Stepping on You
Chapter 31: Stepping on You
Jiang Huai suddenly realized how agonizing the wait had been.
He had been waiting in the courtyard for the time it takes two, maybe three incense sticks to burn, when Wen Wanwan finally emerged from the bathhouse in the back.
She had changed into a white Taoist robe, which concealed her figure completely, revealing only a glimpse of her ankles. The robe was so wide that it hid even the curves of her body, but her cheeks were still coldly beautiful, like a fairy under the moonlight.
She stood obediently in front of Jiang Huai, holding a dark iron sword.
“So… I’ll start practicing my swordplay now.”
“Mhm.”
Jiang Huai sat there, watching her intently as she once again tried to perform a Slashing the Mist.
To Wen Wanwan’s surprise, using Slashing the Mist seemed much easier after opening up those two acupuncture points. Ripples of spiritual energy spread through the air, and after many attempts, she swung what she considered her best sword strike.
Perhaps in the eyes of Senior Brother Jiang Huai, she still looked like a clumsy child, but when she turned around, his eyes were full of approval.
“Very good, you’ve got the hang of it in just a day or two. Keep practicing, and you’ll gradually find your own sword intent. Cultivating swordsmanship can’t be rushed. It’s okay to take it slow.”
Jiang Huai always liked to break down cultivation into a video game mode, where cool sword moves were skills and cultivation level was the mana bar. A high mana bar is useless without skills, and even the coolest skills are nothing if you don’t have enough mana. Both complement each other.
“How are my acupuncture points…”
“That’s a secret, you can’t tell anyone else.”
This time, Jiang Huai spoke quite seriously. Wen Wanwan nodded, then was about to swear an oath, but Jiang Huai quickly stopped her hand.
“There’s no need, I trust you, it’s okay.”
The acupuncture points of cultivators are not absolutely unchangeable from the start of their cultivation journey. It’s common for cultivators to accidentally open new points along the way, and it’s not something that would arouse suspicion.
Even if it did get exposed, Jiang Huai had Chu Xianning to back him up.
“You’re doing well with the sword. Keep working hard.”
Wen Wanwan nodded.
“But don’t overexert yourself,” Jiang Huai added, and Wen Wanwan obediently nodded again.
Jiang Huai beckoned her, “Come and rest for a while, okay?”
Wen Wanwan sat down opposite him, and the two chatted softly beside the tea table.
After hesitating for a long time, Wen Wanwan dared to ask Jiang Huai about his relationship with Luo Qingyu. Jiang Huai told her about Luo Qingyu’s past and the subsequent events after Luo Yueguan came to call off the engagement. Wen Wanwan listened attentively, nodding gently.
“So, if Senior Brother Jiang Huai’s cultivation recovers… will you marry Luo Qingyu?”
“I suppose so.”
Jiang Huai’s gaze drifted, and after a moment, he laughed.
“That being said, who can be certain about the future? Just live in the present, I don’t know what will happen.”
Wen Wanwan responded softly, then picked up the teapot to pour tea for Jiang Huai. But just as Jiang Huai had taken a sip and set down the cup, he suddenly felt the girl’s foot brush against his under the table, seemingly by accident.
“Hmm?” Jiang Huai blinked at Wen Wanwan.
Wen Wanwan’s eyes dodged for a moment, and she asked in a soft voice.
“Senior Brother Jiang Huai… would you… give me a massage?”
“Since you’ve asked, I’ll reluctantly do it.”
Saying this, Jiang Huai watched as the girl’s legs quietly lifted under the table, resting on his legs. He bowed his head, admiring how long her legs were. Gradually, her feet began to blush under his touch.
Jiang Huai knew that his soft spot had been thoroughly seized. His life was pretty much over.
Wen Wanwan sat obediently as if nothing had happened, but the blush on her cheeks could not be hidden.
After a while, Jiang Huai finally withdrew his hand, satisfied.
“Okay, that’s enough.”
Wen Wanwan’s eyes held a trace of grievance.
The two continued to chat in the courtyard until the teapot was empty. Jiang Huai stood up.
“Then I’ll be heading back?”
“Mhm.”
Wen Wanwan also stood up and accompanied Jiang Huai to the courtyard gate. Just as they were parting, Wen Wanwan suddenly stepped forward and hugged Jiang Huai from behind.
The Taoist robe had concealed the girl’s figure, but now, as she hugged him tightly, her chest pressed against him, making Jiang Huai’s body stiffen. He heard Wen Wanwan whisper
“Senior Brother Jiang Huai… please don’t be angry…”
“Why didn’t you just tell me you wanted a hug?”
Jiang Huai gently grasped her hands, loosening her grip, then turned around and gently embraced Wen Wanwan.
Wen Wanwan’s body was warm, and as Jiang Huai held her gently, her earlobes began to heat up.
His fingertips lightly touched her slender waist, but then he suddenly thought of something.
“So… how about testing Senior Brother Jiang Huai less in the future?”
Wen Wanwan was momentarily flustered, and after a few seconds, could only obediently respond with a soft “Mhm,” though it sounded a bit aggrieved. Jiang Huai reached out and “smack,” lightly her butt
“It’s a little punishment.”
After the tap, Jiang Huai regretted it, realizing he had acted on impulse and started making excuses for himself. Wen Wanwan felt her body go limp, as if she could barely stand straight. She tiptoed and brought her soft lips close to Jiang Huai’s.
“After the punishment… will Senior Brother Jiang Huai not be angry anymore?”
“No, I won’t be. Don’t always worry about me getting angry, just be happy yourself.”
“Then…”

Wen Wanwan’s voice trailed off, then she fell silent, Jiang Huai sensing the breath on his ear.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
Wen Wanwan muttered to herself in her heart.
If only… I could be punished like this more often in the future.
Of course, Jiang Huai couldn’t hear her inner thoughts, only knowing that Wen Wanwan was hugging him with a particularly clinging affection. After a while, she finally let go.
“Senior Brother Jiang Huai, take care.”
“Mhm, sleep well.”
Jiang Huai took a deep breath and left.
......
Back in the courtyard.
Jiang Huai first visited Luo Qingyu’s room, gently pushing open the door to find her sitting on the bed, playing with a sculpture, with the luminous stones in the room still glowing. Jiang Huai approached her.
“Lift your skirt.”
Luo Qingyu obediently put down the sculpture, turned around, and lay on the bed, sticking out her pert butt and reaching back to lift her skirt, but the next second, Jiang Huai’s hand came out and thumped her on the forehead.
“Who told you to stick out your butt?”
“Oops…”
Luo Qingyu obediently lay down on the bed and lifted her skirt. Her legs were smooth and flawless, without a single mark. Jiang Huai was reassured and said,
“Good girl, now lie down and listen to today’s story.”
Luo Qingyu obediently turned to her side, covered herself with the blanket, and listened intently to the story with her eyes fixed on Jiang Huai.
.......
Jiang Huai left the courtyard.
Chu Xianning was sitting in the pavilion again, and Jiang Huai sat opposite her. Chu Xianning glanced at the teapot, and Jiang Huai dutifully brewed tea for her.
Jiang Huai took out a set of Go, attempting to establish some presence on a different Go board. Unfortunately, he was once again decisively defeated by Chu Xianning, whose opening moves captured his horse, which he found to be quite excessive.
“You seem to be quite busy lately,” Chu Xianning commented nonchalantly.
“Ah? Do I?”
“Why haven’t I seen you teaching anyone swordplay before?”
“You’re picking on me again. Didn’t I often go to different places to teach Junior Sisters sword techniques?”
“But you don’t seem like someone who has the patience to teach one person swordplay individually.”
“Umm, because Wen Wanwan is very pretty, she’s about eight-tenths as pretty as Master.”
Wen Wanwan’s figure and height were similar to Chu Xianning’s, both slender and tall with a cold demeanor. However, Chu Xianning’s coldness was consistent, while Wen Wanwan’s cool demeanor serves as her protective color.
With her looks and figure, and being alone in the sect, she needed to be cold and independent to avoid unwanted attention.
Jiang Huai’s answer seemed to inadvertently touch a nerve in Chu Xianning, as her eyes gave him a sidelong glance with a hint of displeasure. Jiang Huai, however, seemed completely oblivious as he continued,
“But actually, she’s softer in nature than Master, a bit cuter, more likable.”
“It seems you… like her quite a bit,” Chu Xianning said flatly.
“Umm, not in the way Master is thinking.”
Jiang Huai explained calmly, “I proposed an inner sect reform to the sect, and because Wen Wanwan has to spend a lot of spirit stones to take care of her sister’s health, her cultivation is low, and she might be expelled from the inner sect. It’s indirectly my fault, so I wanted to compensate them a bit.”
“Oh, so that’s your way of compensating,” Chu Xianning said with an enlightened look.
“Wait… what does Master mean?”
“You have the scent of a woman’s powder on you.”
“Are you a dog?” Jiang Huai blurted out without thinking.
Chu Xianning never showed any sign of annoyance, but the next second, her foot firmly stepped on his toe under the table, causing Jiang Huai to grimace in pain.
“I was wrong, wrong! Ouch, ouch, ouch!”
Chu Xianning lifted her leg, giving him a faint glance. Jiang Huai grumbled discontentedly.
“Stepping on toes is a trick for children!”
“Fine,” Chu Xianning said, and a jade-colored whip appeared in her hand.
The next second, Jiang Huai stood up from his chair and ran, but he couldn’t outrun Chu Xianning’s whip.
In the next moment, her whip flew over and tightly bound him, dragging him back to his chair. Chu Xianning crossed her legs under her skirt, her toes slightly lifted, and gave him a faint look.
“Immaculate Golden Body at the seventh level… you shouldn’t die from this, right?”
She seemed to be talking to herself, but Jiang Huai’s forehead was dripping with cold sweat.
“I will die, really, Master.”
Chu Xianning gave him a faint glance and eventually retracted the whip that was bound around Jiang Huai.
“Next time you run your mouth, it won’t be as simple as stepping on you.”
Jiang Huai really wanted to suggest that he didn’t mind the harsh stepping on his chest; he could bear it.
Heh, the cold and aloof master in a skirt pinning me down to the ground, her delicate feet stepping hard on my chest, scolding me as a bastard while blushing, and I could look up at the thighs peeking out from under the hem of her skirt. Hehehe.
Chu Xianning’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Why did she always feel that Jiang Huai’s expression was so lewd and cheap?
