Chapter 818: Chapter 818: Approaching with Ulterior Motives

Isabella Weaver showed no expression, but Secretary Landon and Grace Watt both frowned, thinking this person was overly familiar.

Isabella didn’t tell them to leave, because she knew Cora Ginger wouldn’t come looking for her without a reason. Even if she refused this time, there would be another time, so it was better to clear things up sooner.

"This is the situation. I heard from Cora that she said some unpleasant things in a rush to save her brother a few days ago. After I found out, I criticized her for it, and today I brought her here specifically to apologize to you."

In Isabella’s surprised gaze, Peter Barnes stood up and bowed to apologize: "She’s still young, acts impulsively, and isn’t mature. Miss Weaver, please forgive her this time. She cried non-stop at home and was very afraid of losing you as a friend. She felt too ashamed to meet you herself and pleaded with me to accompany her here."

His words were sincere, and his apology was written all over his face, humbling himself greatly.

Isabella grew more astonished. Has Peter Barnes been this good to Cora already? He’s even specially apologizing for her, treating her like a precious treasure.

Cora was also constantly saying words of apology, so anxious she was about to cry.

Isabella couldn’t hold a grudge and spoke in a gentle voice: "It’s all in the past. With you taking care of Cora, the future will be full of happy days. Blessings to both of you, let’s eat."

Peter Barnes felt a strong desire in his heart upon hearing her voice, wishing he could take her home to hear her call.

But he knew this couldn’t be rushed, and the less he got, the more interested he became.

His appetite was whetted high, his heart beating intensely, like a young man newly in love, secretly yearning for the goddess he couldn’t get, dreaming of a romance.

The beauty was right before him, her gaze cool, her voice soft, her skin white as jade, even the blood vessels on the back of her hand were visible with a faint blue-green hue, making one want to take a bite.

Peter Barnes envied Harry Hunter to death; he’d heard from Cora that Harry captured Isabella without any effort.

It’s truly unfair!

Why couldn’t he encounter such a naturally attractive beauty?

Cora was still afraid Isabella hadn’t forgiven her, and kept talking to her non-stop, sometimes crying, sometimes laughing, her speech incoherent, constantly serving her food.

Isabella couldn’t bear it and held her hand down, speaking softly: "It’s alright, everything’s in the past. Cora, you just need to live well yourself."

Cora suddenly stood up and hugged her, crying and asking, "Have you really forgiven me? Are you really not mad at me anymore?"

"Yes."

"Then come to my house tomorrow. Peter and I are about to get engaged; you have a good eye, help me pick out a dress and accessories, would you?"

"I may not have time tomorrow."

"Tomorrow is the weekend, do you still have to work? You need to take some rest, don’t over-stress yourself."

"Understood."

Isabella nudged her: "Quickly sit back down, stop crying, so many people are watching."

Cora sat back down and gave Peter Barnes a bright smile: "Peter, Isabella forgave me! She’s not angry with me anymore!"

Peter Barnes gently wiped away her tears, warmth flowing in his eyes, speaking even more tenderly: "Your friendship will surely last a long time."

He turned to Isabella and sincerely invited her: "Isabella, you must come to our home, we’re very much looking forward to your visit."
